Elon Musk hints new Grok AI could beat Warren Buffett’s March Madness bracket

Billionaire Elon Musk on Monday said his startup xAI’s latest iteration of the Grok chatbot could help college basketball fans pick a perfect bracket once March Madness begins.

xAI rolled out its new chatbot Grok-3, which is powered by artificial intelligence (AI), on Monday night, and during its event the company’s lead researcher, Jimmy Paul, noted, “We can also do something more fun. For example, how about make a prediction about March Madness?”

“This is kind of a fun one where Warren Buffett has a billion bet that if you exactly match the entire winning tree of March Madness, you can win a billion dollars from Warren Buffett,” Musk said in reference to the NCAA Basketball tournament bracket.

“It would be pretty cool if AI could help you win a billion dollars from Buffett. It seems like a pretty good investment,” he added.

Warren Buffett partnered with Yahoo and Quicken Loans in 2014 to offer a contest in which any contestant who picks a perfect March Madness bracket would win $1 billion. The contest had no winner that year and the jackpot went unclaimed, and the contest has changed in the years since.

Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway revised the challenge so that only company employees are eligible to win the new prize, which is $1 million per year.

The company is yet to announce the details of this year’s contest.

No one has ever picked a perfect NCAA Tournament bracket despite millions of brackets being submitted on various platforms each year when March Madness begins.

To pick a perfect bracket, the would-be oracle of March Madness would have to correctly pick all 63 games in the tournament – including 32 games in the round of 64, plus 16 games in the round of 32, eight games in the Sweet 16, four games in the Elite Eight, the two Final Four games as well as the national championship game. The so-called First Four games, which allow the winners to advance to the round of 64, are typically disregarded in bracket contests.

The NCAA analyzed the probability of making perfect picks for the 63 games in the March Madness bracket.

If a bracket picker guesses the outcome of each game, there is a 1 in 9.2 quintillion chance of picking a perfect bracket, per the NCAA. For reference, one quintillion is one billion billions.

The odds are slightly better for a bracket picker who is knowledgeable about college basketball, though they still face long odds of about 1 in 120.2 billion, according to the NCAA.

People pounce on Rick Warren for tweet about Jesus: “you’ll find him in the middle”

Rick Warren faced a raft of backlash on X in response to a post in which he referred to the two thieves who were crucified on either side of Jesus, and declared, “If you’re looking for the #realJesus, not a caricature disfigured by partisan motivations, you’ll find him in the middle, not on either side.”

Warren, the author of the popular book “The Purpose Driven Life,” founded Saddleback Church with his wife Kay in 1980, according to pastorrick.com.

His Feb. 11 post has earned thousands of replies and more than 3 million views.

Seth Dillon, the CEO of the satire site the Babylon Bee, sarcastically quipped, “Yeah, because if there’s one thing Jesus was known for, it was his desire to meet in the middle and compromise on the issues that matter most.”

“This is possibly the worst Biblical interpretation I’ve ever seen, and that’s really saying something,” conservative commentator Allie Beth Stuckey declared. “Jesus is not ‘in the middle’ on the murder of children, gender deception, the definition of marriage, or anything else, for that matter. In fact, I seem to remember Him having a particular disdain for the lukewarm.”

Hall of Famer Warren Moon raves about specific Patrick Mahomes trait that could lead to another Super Bowl win

As a Hall of Fame quarterback himself, Warren Moon knows that the trajectory of Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes’ career has Canton, Ohio with a bronze bust written all over it.

Mahomes will once again grace a Super Bowl field on Sunday, facing off against the Philadelphia Eagles, whom he helped beat two seasons ago. And the Chiefs have potential history on the line, as they could become the first team to ever win three straight Super Bowls.

Moon told Fox News Digital on Radio Row this week in New Orleans that he wants to see history made on Sunday, and he believes it will be, because of No. 15 leading the way on offense.

“He’s had it all, especially from the start. I mean, he’s got enough body of work with seven, eight years in the league to show just how great he is,” Moon said while also touching on his role with the NFL Alumni Association to raise awareness for cancer screenings. “This is the fifth Super Bowl he’s been to in his seven years he’s been starting, [and] he’s got a chance to win his fourth, and a third in a row. Nobody has ever done anything like that. So, when you’re a guy that’s done something that’s never been done before, you’ve got to be considered one of the greatest.”

The “G.O.A.T.” moniker has been used for Mahomes quite a lot in recent years because of his ability to collect hardware alongside his team while doing some tremendous things under center.

Moon says he watches quarterbacks “very carefully year-in and year-out,” and he shared what impresses him most about Mahomes’ game.

“I’m still a fan of the game, I played the game, and I know the position, so I know the special things that he does each and every week, and, yes, he has all the physical gifts but the thing that I’m most impressed with is his competitiveness and his toughness,” Moon explained. “You’ve seen him get injured in ballgames and still come back and make big plays, he pulls out so many games at the end. That’s what great quarterbacks do, so that’s what I really appreciate about him more than anything else.”

During this Chiefs’ Super Bowl run, talk about referee bias in favor of Mahomes & Co. is something that Moon dismisses, because it’s something we’ve seen before with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

“You know, people say that about every great football team or every great team in general that they get the calls, they get all the breaks,” he said. “They said the same thing about the Patriots, and they didn’t like the Patriots being as great as they were for as long as they were. So that just kind of happens with fans, because unless their team is winning, they don’t want to see anybody else win. I just have an appreciation for whoever is good and a respect for teams and people that are good.”

We’ll see how the officiating plays out on Sunday, but Moon knows that Mahomes’ magic will be on full display.

And if he does lift the Lombardi Trophy once more, that greatest-of-all-time conversation will only have more backing.

IMPORTANT INITIATIVE FOR MOON

Moon was down in the Big Easy on behalf of the NFL Alumni Association and its GEAR UP campaign to raise awareness for cancer screenings, especially colorectal cancer, which goes undetected more than any, because screenings are the only way to detect it.

Moon said this is an initiative he jumped to help out with because he has been affected by those with cancer in his own life, including his godmother, who passed away a couple of months ago.

“It’s called the ‘GEAR UP’ campaign, and it’s our fight against cancer,” he explained. ” There’s so many cancers that are affecting people’s lives – colorectal cancer for one. It’s probably the leading death from cancer in the country, and a lot of people don’t know that.

“It’s a cancer that sometimes goes undetected unless you get screenings, so we’re trying to promote to different communities around the country to not only get screened for colorectal cancer, but any type of cancer you might have in your body. The only way to guard against that is to go get these screenings.”

RFK Jr grilled by Warren over drug company money, while she took $5 million from them

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., pressed Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to make commitments that he would not seek to profit off of drug companies or lawsuits related to them after working in the Trump administration, if he is confirmed as Health and Human Services (HHS) secretary.

However, the Massachusetts Democrat herself raked in roughly $5 million from the health industry during her presidential bid in 2020.

“Will you commit that when you leave this job, you will not accept compensation from a drug company, a medical device company, a hospital system, or a health insurer for at least four years, including as a lobbyist or a board member?” Warren asked Kennedy during his hearing before the Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday.

Warren continued, asking Kennedy to promise he would not “take any compensation from any lawsuits against drug companies while you are secretary and for four years afterward” either.

“You won’t go to work for a drug company after you leave HHS, but you and I both know there’s another way to make money,” the senator told him.

Kennedy pushed back on this, suggesting, “You’re asking me to not sue drug companies,” which he said he would not agree to.

Despite requesting these assurances from Trump’s HHS nominee, Warren notably received about $5 million from the healthcare sector and associated industries during her failed presidential bid.

She was given $2,366,613 by health professionals, $1,600,888 by hospitals and nursing homes, $644,499 from miscellaneous health industries and $625,580 from the pharmaceuticals and health products industry, according to OpenSecrets.

Her office did not provide comment to Fox News Digital in time for publication.

Warren is not the only senator who has taken significant contributions from these industries. Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., received more than $200,000 during the 2024 election cycle and Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., took upwards of $360,000 in 2022. They are both members of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions.

Elon Musk gets DOGE suggestions from Sen. Warren, who takes more swipes at him

Far-left Sen. Elizabeth Warren sent Elon Musk a long list of suggested cuts for consideration by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which he leads for the Trump administration, and used the opportunity to criticize the initiative as well as the Tesla CEO, whom she has attacked several times in the past.

In a letter dated Thursday, Warren told Musk she has “very serious concerns about both the DOGE process and the policies” that Musk has “publicly discussed to date,” saying “it is not clear that you and other DOGE leaders are able to identify and mitigate your conflicts of interest and adhere to common-sense ethics standards.”

The Democrat from Massachusetts said DOGE “appears to be a venue for corruption, allowing well-connected billionaires to put government policies in place that enrich them while hurting ordinary Americans,” and said she is “disturbed by the dangerous proposals” floated by the committee so far.

She went on to list 30 ideas for saving taxpayer dollars, such as cutting wasteful spending at the Department of Defense, further price controls for Medicare, breaking up healthcare conglomerates, and eliminating or reducing federal spending for Charter Schools, and closing tax loopholes for the wealthy.

Warren said her proposals would slash at least $2 trillion in federal spending over the next decade.

Warren has called for investigations into Musk and his businesses multiple times in recent years, and last month she wrote a letter to the Trump transition team demanding answers about what she said were Musk’s “conflicts of interest” in heading up DOGE.

The pair’s feuds have also spilled over onto Musk’s X social media platform, where Musk has dubbed her “Senator Karen.”

“You remind me of when I was a kid and my friend’s angry Mom would just randomly yell at everyone for no reason,” Musk replied to Warren on X, then-Twitter, in 2021. “Please don’t call the manager on me, Senator Karen.”
