‘Hatred underpins them’: Nurses suspended after viral video threatening to kill Israeli man

Two Sydney nurses who threatened on camera to kill an Israeli man and other Jewish people in their care were identified and immediately suspended from practicing.

The Australian Department of Health and Aged Care announced in a statement on Thursday that the Nursing and Midwifery Council of New South Wales (NSW) suspended the registrations of registered nurses Ahmad Rashad Nadir and Sarah Abu Lebdeh, effective immediately.

Nadir and Lebdeh, who initially claimed they were doctors while donning scrubs, threatened Israeli influencer Max Veifer on an international video chat website called Chatrouletka.

After asking Veifer about his nationality, Lebdeh said “it’s Palentine’s country, not your country you piece of s—,” according to the video.

She proceeded to tell Veifer “when the time comes, I want you to remember my face, so you can understand that you will die the most disgusting death.”

Nadir chimed in and they both said they would not treat Veifer and would kill him if he came to their hospital.

“You have no idea how many Israelis came to this hospital and…,” Nadir said, while sliding his arm across his neck in a throat-slashing motion.

The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency automatically updated their record on the public register of practitioners, making the two Bankstown Hospital nurses unable to practice nursing anywhere in Australia, in any context.

“The idea that you would single out a particular group in our community and indicate you wouldn’t care for them, let alone actively threaten their lives, runs against every single principle in our health care system,” the health department wrote in the statement.

Officials said “their sickening comments – and the hatred that underpins them – have no place in our health system and no place anywhere in Australia.”

The department added Australians have a right to feel safe wherever they go and “nowhere should be safer” than a hospital.

“Health workers have a solemn duty to treat and heal everyone who comes before them needing help,” according to the statement. “The overwhelming majority hold to that oath.”

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese confirmed on Tuesday the pair were “rightly” referred to the NSW Police for criminal investigation.

“Individuals found to have committed criminal antisemitic acts will face the full force of our laws,” Albanese wrote in a post on X. “The footage is sickening and shameful.”

NSW Health Minister Ryan Park claimed there was “no evidence” the nurses harmed patients in their care, but the investigation is ongoing.

Lebdeh’s family members spoke to various news outlets claiming she was “baited” and that she was “sorry,” the New York Post reported.

Israel’s biggest newspaper, Israel Hayom, seemingly responded to the remarks with a story titled, “Sorry, not sorry,” and accused the two nurses of minimizing the incident, according to the report.

Sharren Haskel, deputy minister of foreign affairs of the state of Israel, reacted to the viral video, calling the nurses "racist."

Sharren Haskel, deputy minister of foreign affairs of the state of Israel, posted on X, commending Australian officials for their response, and calling the pair “racist.”

“Thank you, @ChrisMinnsMP for your swift and decisive action against the racist nurses who threatened to kill Jews. Your dedication and efforts in combating antisemitism over the past month are commendable, and we deeply appreciate your commitment to protecting the Jewish community of New South Wales.”

Haskel added there must be “zero tolerance” for racism and antisemitism and noted threats must be met with “the full force of the law.”

A synagogue was firebombed in Melbourne on Dec. 6, which authorities are now investigating as a likely terrorist attack. Other reports indicate cars have been set aflame and buildings have been vandalized in Sydney Jewish communities.

Chocolate Day 2025 Funny Memes and Jokes: These Hilarious V-Day Instagram Posts, Viral Images and Photos Set a Bittersweet Mood on Valentine Week

Chocolate Day—the third day of Valentine Week, where couples everywhere exchange heart-shaped boxes filled with overpriced candy and declare their undying affection, all while the rest of us strategically indulge in chocolate because, let’s face it, it’s the only reliable, non-judgmental companion we have. If you’re single, you’re probably licking your fingers clean of melted chocolate while scrolling through social media, watching couples post their perfect, “I love you more than chocolate” captions, which—spoiler alert—isn’t true (no one loves you more than chocolate). But hey, who’s counting? To make this day even more fun and relatable, there are Chocolate Day 2025 funny memes, jokes, hilarious V-Day Instagram posts, viral images and photos that set a bittersweet mood during the week-long celebration. Valentine Week 2025 Calendar With Full Dates: Rose Day, Chocolate Day, Valentine’s Day and More, Here’s the Date Sheet To Celebrate the Week of Love.

Let’s start with the couples, those romantic souls who think that the way to show their love is through sugar-coated gestures. They’ll post the most perfect photos of themselves sharing a chocolate truffle or nibbling on a fancy chocolate-dipped strawberry like it’s an act of ultimate devotion. Then come the memes—the true saviors of Chocolate Day. The internet absolutely delivers when it comes to cutting through all the gooey, sugary, too-sweet-to-handle love floating around. And honestly, who can argue with that? If chocolate didn’t come with a side of self-care (read: Netflix, sweatpants, and zero judgment), we’d have to rethink our entire relationship with the cocoa bean. At least we can count on chocolate to be consistently available and not post about how much it loves us every five minutes. Anti-Valentine Week 2025 Calendar With Full Dates: What Are the 7 Days of Anti-Romance? While couples are busy playing cute, sharing-the-same-piece-of-chocolate games, we’re over here living our best life—eating an entire cake, half of it in silence, and the other half with no need for a heartfelt conversation about what this means for the future. This is true love. No questions asked. And then, of course, the internet steps in with the golden memes about the reality of Chocolate Day. Check out some really funny Chocolate Day memes and jokes:

Propose Day 2025 Funny Memes, Jokes and Viral Instagram Posts: The Day in Valentine Week To ‘Propose’ to Your Love—or Just Share Memes About It

Propose Day- the second day of Valentine Week, where every couple on the planet is expected to show the world just how serious their love is by putting a ring on it — or at least sharing a heartfelt post on Instagram. Because if you didn’t propose on Propose Day, did your relationship really count? Or, if you’re single like the rest of us, is your existence suddenly validated by the sheer quantity of awkward proposals you can scroll through on social media? No matter which among the two you are, these Propose Day funny memes and jokes are sure to crack you up on Valentine Week. Here are the best Propose Day 2025 funny memes, jokes and viral Instagram posts. Valentine Week 2025 Calendar With Full Dates: Here’s the Date Sheet To Celebrate the Week of Love.

Let’s face it. Propose Day is just another excuse for social media to remind you of how utterly “perfect” everyone else’s love life is, while you’re sitting at home, swiping through dating apps wondering if “I’m too picky” is actually a legitimate reason for your singleness. Meanwhile, the couples out there are preparing to give us all major heart-eye emojis with their “unexpected” proposals, which, let’s be honest, are never that unexpected.

Oh, but the funny memes and jokes! The memes are the real MVPs of Propose Day. Because let’s be real: for every sweet, tear-jerking proposal that you pretend not to roll your eyes at, there are a hundred memes just waiting to make you laugh through your totally non-existent love life. Anti-Valentine Week 2025 Calendar With Full Dates: What Are the 7 Days of Anti-Romance? Slap Day, Flirt Day, Break Up Day and More, Date Sheet of Self-Growth and Healing.

And let’s talk about those over-the-top proposals we’re subjected to online. You know the ones — the flash mobs, the public speeches, the proposals in front of 500 strangers who are definitely not filming it for Instagram. Now, Propose Day wouldn’t be complete without the usual parade of funny memes about the anti-proposal crew. These are the single people who are so done with hearing about love that they go straight for the humor. And let’s not forget the gems from the ‘commitment-phobes’ in the wild, whose take on Propose Day is simply, “I’ll commit to a pizza, but a person? I’m good.” Check out some of the best Propose Day 2025 funny memes and jokes.

All in all, Propose Day is a time for everyone to get a little extra mushy, whether they’re ready for a lifetime of commitment or just posting a meme about running away from it. Whether you’re popping the big question or just watching from the sidelines with a bag of popcorn, remember: the best thing about Propose Day is that it’s all over by the next day — and the memes last forever.

  • DNC’s new vice chair David Hogg’s ‘INSANE’ tweets going viral

DNC’s new vice chair David Hogg’s ‘INSANE’ tweets going viral

Newly elected Democratic National Committee (DNC) Vice Chair David Hogg, a 24-year-old gun control activist and emerging voice in the Democratic Party, is the DNC’s first Gen Z vice chair. He has the digital footprint to prove it.

“Are you ready to go on the offense? We have to win back our young people. I’m the only candidate in this race for any of these positions that is under 30. We had a 20-point shift to the right of our young people. We must show our young people we give a damn about them, that we support them, and we invest in them,” Hogg said at the DNC’s Winter Meeting.

Yet, Hogg could be backed into a defensive position as he assumes his new role as vice chair.

“I have raised over $11 million in the past year to support the future of our party because I don’t just tweet,” Hogg said. “I don’t just talk the talk. I also walk the walk, and I knock the knock on doors around this country.”

Hogg’s old posts have gone viral as conservative activists have sounded the alarm about his past policy positions and rhetoric against conservatives.

In 2022, he rallied around several left-wing positions, including “legalizing all drugs” and “supporting a 100% tax after your first billion.”

“How radical you ask? I don’t think anybody should have over $1 billion in assets there should be a 100% tax after your first billion,” Hogg posted on X in April 2022. “I think we need to do what Australia did in regards to guns. We need universal healthcare Free college for all Legalize all drugs.”

Months later, he said he would prefer to own a Porsche than have kids, claiming it is better for the environment.

“Like me? I’m never planning on having kids. I would much rather own a Porsche and have a Portuguese water dog and golden doodle,” Hogg posted on X in September 2022. “Long term it’s cheaper, better for The environment and will never tell you that it hates you or ask you to pay for college.”

Hogg also acknowledged in 2022 that “any politician doing anything with me is in effect committing political suicide.”

Conservatives on X are calling out the irony of the DNC now electing him to a leadership position.

Many have pointed to Hogg’s progressive views on masculinity as a turnoff to young male voters.

In 2021, Hogg called to “abolish ICE” and “defund the police not USPS.”

Upon accepting the new DNC leadership position, X users are calling out Hogg for his 2022 post that said, “We have enough straight white men in power. It’d be nice to see some people who actually look like our country and not privilege.”

DEMOCRATS ELECT NEW CHAIR WHO BRANDED TRUMP A ‘TRAITOR’ AS PARTY AIMS TO REBOUND FROM DISASTROUS 2024 ELECTION

X users also argued Hogg’s nomination proves the Democratic Party is out of touch with its electorate.

Conservatives have also trolled Hogg’s nomination, arguing that “He will help Republicans win for years to come.”

Hogg garnered national attention in 2018 as a co-founder of March for Our Lives, a student-led organization launched by survivors of the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida.

Since 2018, Hogg has become a voice of young Democrats in the mainstream media as he continues his advocacy work. After graduating from Harvard in 2023, Hogg co-founded Leaders We Deserve, a political action committee promoting young progressive candidates for state and federal office.

  • XX-XY Athletics looks to redefine mainstream in 2025, eyeing women’s sports star signings and hit viral ads

XX-XY Athletics looks to redefine mainstream in 2025, eyeing women’s sports star signings and hit viral ads

The startup sportswear brand XX-XY Athletics, founded by former U.S. gymnast and Levi’s executive Jennifer Sey, crossed seven figures in profit in its first 10 months in 2024, she told FOX Business in an exclusive interview.

Sey isn’t trying to compete with Nike for sportswear supremacy by any means. She recognizes the difference in resources between her company and the industry juggernauts. She’s simply taking up all the real estate that those companies have refused to compete for – activist apparel for women athletes opposed to trans inclusion in their sports and locker rooms.

Election year 2024 saw that issue ignite a sprawling counterculture movement. Former college swimmer Riley Gaines, considered one of the pioneers of the movement with her lawsuit against the NCAA over having to face Lia Thomas in the 2022 NCAA championships, was Sey’s first brand ambassador.

Since then, the company has launched an NIL program. That roster added prominent Mountain West volleyball players Brooke Slusser and Sia Liilii, and Gaines’ younger sister Neely Gaines, a gymnast at the University of Kentucky.

But Sey is honest about what her brand, and cause as a whole, is missing so far.

“There isn’t a top-tier competitive female athlete or coach that has stood up for the protection of women’s sports,” Sey said. She added that women’s tennis legend Martina Navratilova is one example of a star who has, but isn’t actively competing.

“We don’t have any currently-competing top-tier athletes who have spoken out. I think that’s an illustration of how far we have to go. It should be normal for them to stand up and say ‘I will fight for the protection of women’s sports,’ and yet they haven’t, because I think a lot of them are afraid of being called terrible names.”

For Sey, all of the women athletes who have signed with her brand so far had no reservations about taking on the backlash that might come with it. And that’s because each of them had already been aligned with the cause of protecting women’s sports before signing.

But she thinks that can change in 2025 and beyond, and is aiming to do that. She already has her pitch for them.

“I would say, ‘You have enjoyed tremendous success as a female athlete, tremendous opportunity. Don’t you want to ensure that girls and young women in future generations have that same opportunity? It is impossible if we don’t keep women’s sports female.'”

But Sey also knows there are financial barriers to this.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXBUSINESS.COM

“I’m not going to pretend I can offer what Nike offers or even what a Vuori offers [financially],” Sey said about pitching potential brand ambassadors who are on the fence about joining her cause. “But I take great solace and courage myself in knowing I’m standing up and doing the right thing, and you will grow with us, and you will know that you stood and did the right thing and protect women’s sports for future generations, and you will have financial opportunity that comes with our growth.”

“But I’m not going to sit there and pretend I can compete with Nike as far as what I’m going to pay them, we’re 10 months old… but we will grow.”

Sey says she is keeping a close eye on some potential star athletes who she knows are “secretly on her side.”

“We know there are women secretly on our side who haven’t been brave enough yet,” Sey said. “We’re waiting patiently for their courage and to do the right thing.”

GET FOX BUSINESS ON THE GO BY CLICKING HERE

For Sey, a step toward attracting that talent was taken on Sunday, when the company launched its latest video advertisement. The “Real Girls Rock” ad portrays the brand’s ambassadors, who have stood up for women’s sports, facing vulgar hate comments and witnessing liberal media outlets berate them as “transphobic.”

It tackles the mainstream’s taboo around the brand head on, and uses it as a powerful marketing prop. The ads are set to run on the respective podcasts hosted by Michele Tafoya, Megyn Kelly and Riley Gaines. The goal is to get the ad to go viral.

“With virility comes increased business, as we reach out to more people and bring new people into the fold and into the brand, that helps us grow our business.”

  • Brett Favre says viral confrontation with Mark Gastineau about NFL sack record was a ‘setup’

Brett Favre says viral confrontation with Mark Gastineau about NFL sack record was a ‘setup’

A video went viral back in December that featured Mark Gastineau confronting Brett Favre in 2023 about Michael Strahan sacking the Green Bay Packers legend to break Gastineau’s single-season sack record.

In the final game of the 2001 season, Favre appeared to fall onto the field before being tackled by Strahan, giving the New York Giants legend the record. (It’s since been tied by T.J. Watt.) Gastineau accused Favre of taking a “dive,” and the play remains controversial.

Gastineau met Favre at a memorabilia event last year, saying that Favre had “hurt” him and that he was going to “take my sack back” in a heated exchange.

The confrontation was featured in ESPN’s 30 for 30, “New York Sack Exchange;” not coincidentally, Favre said he believes the meeting had been planned by “ESPN and/or NFL Films.”

“There are athletes from all sports; generally, it’s retired guys. So, you encounter a lot of different guys, but I had no clue, and I really think that was a setup by ESPN and/or NFL Films,” Favre told Mihcele Tafoya on her podcast.

Favre said he had spotted a camera “hiding” above a “divider,” and admitted he had been a bit worried.

“He actually came right to the table – he’s still a big guy. . . .Honestly, I was thinking, the last thing I want to have to do is fight this guy right here,” Favre said.

The Hall of Fame QB added that he felt Gastineau “wasn’t all there” due to his history of concussions.

Favre took to X shortly after the confrontation went viral, in an attempt to “clear the air,” admitting that it “maybe” had “crossed my mind to help Strahan,” but he was not trying to “hurt” Gastineau.

“I booted out of a run thinking it would be wide open, saw Strahan standing there and ducked down. The game was over. There was no need for me to do anything spectacular. It probably wasn’t Michael’s best sack or tackle for loss. In a different game or situation, I would have made a bigger effort to avoid the sack or TFL. But at no point was I thinking about hurting Gastineau,” Favre pleaded.

Kash Patel turns tables on Dem senator with viral response: ‘You’ve got two minutes’

Conservatives on social media praised Kash Patel, President Donald Trump’s nominee for FBI director, after a thorny exchange with Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar during his confirmation hearing Thursday.

That’s a general statement and a mischaracterization of what I said,” Patel told Klobuchar in response to questioning about a past quote that the senator suggested showed Patel believes some U.S. Capitol Police officers lied under oath during the Jan. 6 hearings.

“I encourage you to read the rest of the interviews,” Patel added. “This is why snippets of information are often misleading and detrimental to this committee’s advice and consent.”

Klobuchar responded, “If you consent, I would love to have five hours of questions, and then I could read the whole transcripts.”
