Pelosi discloses sales of Nvidia and Apple shares, purchase of Alphabet and Amazon

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., reported several stock trades on Inauguration Day that were made in December and early January involving several of the world’s largest tech companies, an industry her husband Paul has traded in before.

Congressional stock trading disclosures, known as periodic transaction reports, cover trades made by both the member of Congress and a spouse.

Ian Krager, a spokesperson for the former speaker, told FOX Business, “Speaker Pelosi does not own any stocks, and she has no prior knowledge or subsequent involvement in any transactions.”

Both sets of call options have a strike price of $150 and were valued between $250,001 and $500,000. Call options give investors the right to buy shares of a company at a specific price.

Last fall, Paul Pelosi sold over $500,000 in Visa stock ahead of a Justice Department antitrust suit against the credit card giant. Earlier last year, an analysis estimated that he made the couple nearly $4 million in a six-month period off of Nvidia call options he bought in November 2023.

Lawmakers’ spouses can trade in companies or industries their partner may help regulate, but it’s illegal for members of Congress and their family members to profit from inside information.

Members of Congress on both sides of the political aisle have proposed legislation in recent years that would ban lawmakers and their family members from owning stock. Bipartisan bills to that end were developed in the Senate during the last Congress, but neither became law before the end of the 118th Congress, leaving the issue to the current Congress.

WATCH | Meghan Markle shares beach video in Instagram post welcoming New Year 2025

Meghan Markle kicked off 2025 by launching her first Instagram account since 2020. On January 1, she posted a video of herself on the beach using the handle @meghan. She was seen dressed in white as she wrote 2025 in the sand. The account has already attracted over 200,000 followers.

In 2020, both Harry and Meghan stopped using Sussex Royal account after ther quit as senior royals. They created new account in 2019, after parting ways with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Kensington Palace household, which manages its social media presence under the name Kensington Royal. The account was used to to announce the birth and name of their baby son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor and to promote their own work and that of charities

Meghan had closed her social media accounts ahead of her wedding to Harry in 2018. The former Suits actress, once popular on Instagram, had hinted at a social media comeback.

In a 2022 interview with New York Magazine’s The Cut, she confided: “Do you want to know a secret? I’m getting back … on Instagram.” But at times she cited harassment and revealed that she is unwilling to to return. In 2023, the couple urged social media platforms to strengthen content-moderation policies and noted that some apps could damage the mental health of young people.

Harry and Meghan shares are picture of their two children in 2024 Christmas card

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared a rare picture of their two children as part of a series of images for their official Christmas card. Meghan and Harry are shown in the outdoors about to hug Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet as their son and daughter run into their arms. The couple have rarely exposed their children to the limelight and in the image their faces are not shown as Lilibet, three, approaches her father while five-year-old Archie sprints to his mother. It appears the couple, who stepped down as working royals and moved to California in 2020, may be in a park as their three dogs are in the picture.

Six images are featured with the card, sent by email, which has the message: “On behalf of the office of Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundation, we wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful New Year.”

The card is intended for professional use by the couple and their team, with the Sussexes sending a separate card to their close family and friends which will remain private.

1.22 lakh condom packs: How India prepared for New Year 2025 afterparty, Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa shares trends

As India welcomed 2025, celebrations were in full swing, and quick-commerce companies like Blinkit played a key role in ensuring party essentials reached customers on time. Albinder Dhindsa, CEO of Blinkit, shared an interesting snapshot of New Year trends on X (formerly Twitter).

He revealed that Blinkit was delivering 1,22,356 condom packs, 45,531 bottles of mineral water, 22,322 PartySmart tablets and 2,434 packets of Eno. Dhindsa jokingly asked if these items were part of the “after-party prep”, showcasing the platform’s efficiency during peak festivities.

For the unversed, Himalaya PartySmart is a herbal remedy that prevents hangovers by reducing acetaldehyde buildup to cure symptoms like headache and nausea.

However, Dhindsa’s update did not satisfy the social media users who wanted more information.

“Can you share a percentage split on condom type and flavour? Would be interesting to see,” one user wrote.

“Pls give breakup of Brands so we get Market data on what’s selling,” wrote another.

    Other users had different queries.

“So party in this new generation means sex?” asked one user while another wondered, “Why are all the quick commerce handles sharing sales number of condoms? To promote safe sex?”

“Condom sales is much less? So any population outbreak coming next year?” posted a curious user.
