Dion Jordan was a highly touted NFL prospect coming out of college in 2013 and was treated as such.
The Miami Dolphins selected Jordan with the No. 3 pick of the draft that year, but his career did not go exactly the way anyone planned. The former defensive end had three sacks in 26 games for the Dolphins and was then suspended in 2015 for violations of the NFL’s substance abuse policy.

He reappeared in the league in 2017 with the Seattle Seahawks, securing four sacks in five games, but it was not enough to revive his career as a starter. He played for the Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers before leaving the league following the 2020 season.
Jordan, 34, came to grips with the failure of meeting those high expectations.
“I didn’t have my life in order. My life outside of ball wasn’t in balance,” he said in a recent interview on “The Fish Tank” podcast. “You know, it wasn’t what it needed to be to match all of that stuff and I struggled, dude. I struggled coming in. I struggled understanding the plays and the playbook.

“When I left the facility, it didn’t help because I’m out partying. I’m enjoying the money I have, and I’m just putting myself behind the eight-ball. I’m hurt, you know. Sometimes I’m missing my rehabs, so that’s not helping.”
Jordan made clear that it was no one else’s fault but his own for the way his NFL career panned out. He is now an assistant at Eureka College in Illinois to help teach the next generation.

1) Install your router and configure important settings
Start by placing your router in a central location within your home. The closer your device is to the router, the stronger and more reliable your Wi-Fi signal will be. For a wired network, connect a switch or Ethernet hub to an available power outlet using a high-quality Ethernet cable.
Once your router is installed, it’s time to configure the security settings. Find your router’s online setup page on the instructions, which are usually provided with the device or printed on the router itself. 2) Decide if you want a wired or wireless setup
When setting up your home network, you’ll need to choose between a wired or wireless configuration. Wired networks offer enhanced security and faster speeds, but wireless networks offer the convenience of connecting multiple devices without needing additional hardware.
Wired devices:
Use an RJ-45 network cable to link your device to the router or switch. Most modern routers support Gigabit Ethernet (1,000 Mbps). For performance, it’s best to use Cat5e, Cat6 or Cat6a cables between your devices and router.
Cat5e supports gigabit speeds but can struggle over long distances.
Cat6 and Cat6a cables offer superior performance with speeds up to 10 Gbps. While Cat6 is adequate for most homes, Cat6a is ideal for longer distances or for homes with 10 Gbps devices. Cat6a cables are typically used in high-demand environments, like data centers or large offices.
Switches are essential for connecting multiple wired devices within your home network. They allow devices to communicate over a single Ethernet segment and can be cascaded to extend your network. There are two types of switches:
Unmanaged switches: Affordable and straightforward, these typically offer basic features and come in five- or eight-port configurations.
Managed switches: Higher-priced but offer advanced features such as virtual LANs, traffic segmentation and even the ability to block traffic from specific devices.
Some switches also provide Power over Ethernet, which can power devices like access points or security cameras without needing a separate power outlet. This is particularly useful for devices in hard-to-reach areas.
Wireless devices:
To connect wireless devices, you’ll need a Wi-Fi-capable router or wireless access point. Wi-Fi comes in different generations, such as Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 6. Make sure your devices and router are compatible with the latest Wi-Fi version. If needed, a USB adapter can help update your devices for compatibility.
Wireless networks operate on two primary bands:
2.4 GHz: Offers longer range but with lower bandwidth. It’s ideal for devices like smart home gadgets that don’t require high-speed data.
5 GHz: Provides higher bandwidth and faster speeds but has a shorter range. It’s perfect for devices like laptops and streaming devices that need fast, uninterrupted connectivity.

3) Extend your network range
Both wired and wireless networks can experience connectivity issues if there are physical barriers or long distances between devices and the router. To expand the range of your network, consider these options:
Ethernet cables: Ethernet cables can extend up to 100 meters. Adding a switch allows multiple devices to connect at different locations in your home. You can also use power-line adapters, which send your network signal through your home’s electrical wiring, enabling network access in rooms far from the router.
Wireless repeaters: These devices extend the Wi-Fi signal by amplifying and retransmitting it.
Mesh systems: A mesh network uses multiple nodes (router-like devices) that communicate with each other to create a seamless Wi-Fi network. They’re easy to set up and provide consistent coverage. Check out our top mesh networking winners here.

4) Secure your home network
Securing your home network is critical to maintaining your privacy. Here are some best practices to follow.
Change default passwords: Make sure to change the default passwords on all devices that control or access your network.
Activate the firewall: This helps block unauthorized traffic and protects against potential threats.
Minimize open ports: Routers use virtual ports for specific services, such as web traffic on port 80 or secure browsing on port 443. Opening only the necessary ports helps reduce vulnerabilities.
Disable remote access: Turn off remote access to your router and cable modem unless absolutely necessary.
Use WPA2 or WPA3 encryption: Always secure your wireless network with a strong password and WPA encryption to prevent unauthorized access.
5) Start with the right internet plan for a stronger home network
No matter how advanced your home network setup is, your internet speed and reliability depend on your provider and plan. If you’re experiencing lag, buffering or connectivity issues, it might be time to upgrade or switch to a better internet service.
Choose the right speed for your needs: Households with multiple users streaming, gaming or working remotely should aim for at least 100-500 Mbps for smooth performance.
Check for fiber or 5G home internet: If available in your area, these options provide faster and more stable connections than traditional cable or DSL.

Top-ranked men’s tennis pro Jannik Sinner has been suspended by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) after twice testing positive for a banned anabolic steroid nearly a year ago. News of the ban comes just weeks after the Italian tennis pro won his third Grand Slam title.
WADA announced in a statement on Saturday that it agrees with the conclusion of the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA), which found that Sinner had not intentionally used a banned substance for competitive gain.

“WADA accepts the athlete’s explanation for the cause of the violation as outlined in the first instance decision,” the statement read.

“WADA accepts that Mr. Sinner did not intend to cheat, and that his exposure to clostebol did not provide any performance-enhancing benefit and took place without his knowledge as the result of negligence of members of his entourage.”
Sinner, 23, tested positive for low levels of metabolite of clostebol, a banned anabolic steroid that can be used for ophthalmological and dermatological use, in March 2024. Eight days after the Indian Wells tournament, Sinner tested positive again in an out-of-competition sample.
According to the ITIA’s initial findings, Sinner explained that he had tested positive after receiving a massage from a trainer who had used an over-the-counter spray that contained clostebol to treat a small wound after cutting his own finger.

While WADA accepted the no-fault explanation, the organization said the three-month suspension was necessary as “an athlete bears responsibility for the entourage’s negligence.” WADA had initially challenged the ITIA’s decision for no suspension and was seeking a one-year ban minimum before agreeing to settle with a three-month suspension.
WADA said that Sinner’s wins would not be rescinded in this case because of the ITIA’s findings that the positive test results had not provided a competitive advantage.
Sinner released a statement Saturday accepting the WADA’s discipline.
“This case had been hanging over me now for nearly a year and the process still had a long time to run with a decision maybe only at the end of the year,” he said. “I have always accepted that I am responsible for my team and realize WADA’s strict rules are an important protection for the sport I love. On that basis I have accepted WADA’s offer to resolve these proceedings on the basis of a three-month sanction.”

Sinner’s doping scandal has received mixed reactions from the tennis community, but Saturday’s announcement was met with overwhelming disappointment from the sport’s biggest stars.
Among the most outspoken critics was Australian tennis star Nick Kryrgios.
“So wada come out and say it would be a 1-2 year ban,” Kryrgios said in a post on X. “Obviously sinners team have done everything in their power to just go ahead and take a 3 month ban, no titles lost, no prize money lost. Guilty or not? Sad day for tennis. Fairness in tennis does not exist.”
Sinner’s suspension will last until May 4. He will not miss the Italian Open or any of the Grand Slam tournaments remaining.

Legendary professional wrestler Booker T will be one of the four coaches tasked to find the next top competitor on the upcoming A&E series “WWE Legends and Future Greats.”
The show, also known as “WWE LFG,” takes 16 budding professional wrestlers and lets them learn under the guided eyes of Booker T, Mickie James, Undertaker and Bubba Ray Dudley. While each coach has their own styles and backgrounds, Booker T has experience as a coach.

Booker T is the founder of the independent promotion Reality of Wrestling (ROW), which became an independent wrestling school for WWE’s latest developmental program, WWE ID. Much like his fellow coaches, he has been through the ups and downs that pro wrestling has to offer. He has been a world champion with WWE, World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling, and he has been on the independent and international scenes.
He explained to Fox News Digital in a recent interview what he is looking for in a pro wrestler.
“How much heart they have, how much they really, really want it, and how far they’re willing to go because with professional wrestling, I tell my students, it’s not going to come to you,” he said. “You got to go to it as far as the studying side of it.
“Do you really want to be a professional wrestler or do you want to just play wrestling? It’s so many different elements that goes into it. But I’m looking for the guy that wants it. It’s hard to judge a book by its cover because you might see the one guy, he may have everything on the outside you’re looking for, but it may have zero on the inside that you’re looking for. On the other hand, it could be totally the opposite.”
Aside from being a prolific singles competitor with multiple world championship reigns, Booker T broke into WCW as a tag-team wrestler with his brother, Stevie Ray. The two were known as the Harlem Heat and took the tag-team scene by storm.

He told Fox News Digital he was not looking for one person to have a certain specialty, rather a person who is ready for any type of challenge.
“I’m looking for someone who can find themselves in situations, and no matter what the situation is, they know how to figure it out,” he said. “A lot of these guys are dealing with this competition from just about every aspect we possibly can put them in – from a tag-team perspective, from a singles perspective, from a surprise perspective.
“There’s going to be so many different elements that we’re going to put them through. They’re going to, like I say, run the gambit as far as that goes. But I’m looking for someone who’s prepared for those situations because, just like I’ve been talking to my students since day one, preparation is the only luck you’re going to have in making it in this business.”

James had a lasting and memorable career with WWE, with her first stint ending in 2010 and her second stint ending in 2021. She was a five-time WWE women’s champion and one-time WWE Divas champion. She was in TNA, Global Force Wrestling and a few other indie promotions in between runs with WWE.
James’ vast experience in professional wrestling made her the perfect choice as a coach in the upcoming television show “WWE Legends and Future Greats,” also known as “WWE LFG.”

The reality show, which premieres on Sunday, will see James, The Undertaker, Booker T and Bubba Ray Dudley mentor the next generation of wrestling superstars. Viewers will get an inside look at what it takes to make it in the business.
James told Fox News Digital in a recent interview it was quite difficult to determine what type of characteristics she looked for in a pro wrestler given a competitor’s background and experience.
“Each person you have to coach so differently depending on where they are in their wrestling journey,” she explained. “I always say that I think what makes a superstar is the ability to tap into the thing that makes you unique, that stands out from the crowd, whether it be physically or emotionally or whatever, and making that larger than life.
“In my opinion, as a talent, a lot of the times those things that, just through culture and our desire to fit in and be like everyone else and normal – that’s the last thing you want in wrestling is to be like everyone else and normal. You want to be larger than life. Those things that make us and set us apart and make us so different are the things that we’ve pushed down and tapped down and kind of hidden and are insecure about.

“And, I could just be speaking for myself, but I often find those are the things that you want to make larger, even bigger and go bigger with because those are the things that are going to set you apart from everybody else. The last thing you want is to be like anyone else in the arena.”
James said she was excited to be a coach on the show and to pull the curtain back on some of the WWE greats she will be working with.
She added that she believed she had a unique experience because of her career trajectory.
“I do think I relate most to these ‘Future Greats’ because I did go through the developmental system and then came up to television,” she told Fox News Digital. “I can understand. I can relate a little bit more with them of what it feels like to be in their shoes.
“It’s been a lot of run to do. I feel like I’m constantly learning even still and it’s cool to get to know these talent on a different level, on a real personal level and have fallen in love with all of them. But also to get to know all of my fellow coaches on a different level and hopefully earn a newfound respect from all of them. They certainly, I feel like, are my brothers now and I adore each and every one of them. So, yeah, it’s been a lot of fun.”

A historic landmark may host a professional boxing match this summer.
According to Ring, WBO junior welterweight champion Teofimo Lopez is close to an agreement to get into the ring on Alcatraz Island.
Ring notes that Riyadh Season promoter Turki Alalshikh recently told ESPN he was hoping to host a fight at the former prison turned museum one day. Lopez will fight for the brand.

“You know, sometimes I get in my mind I want different places to do [fights]. Sometimes in mountains, maybe someday in the Pyramids in Mexico, someday in [the] Eiffel Tower in France, [the] Colosseum in Italy,” Alalshikh said.
It’s unclear whether the title would be up for grabs, but considering Lopez defended his title twice last year, it seems likely.
The prison opened in 1934, but it didn’t even last 30 years.
Considering its 1.25-mile distance to shore, the Bay Area island was considered practically escape-proof, although there were 14 documented attempted escapes.
The most notorious one was the June 11, 1962, escape by John and Clarence Anglin and Frank Morris, which inspired “Escape from Alcatraz.”

It remains a mystery whether the three reached shore and survived. The FBI concluded the escapees drowned due to harsh conditions.
The three prisoners chiseled an escape route from their own jail cells and built makeshift, papier mâché heads.
The final attempted escape from the prison, almost six months later, inspired what has become the swimming route of the “Escape from Alcatraz” triathlon.

The Department of Veterans Affairs canceled $178,000 in subscriptions to Politico Pro, VA Secretary Doug Collins announced Monday.
Collins announced the move on X, saying his office had only recently become aware of the contract. The cancelation comes after President Donald Trump’s administration revealed that the federal government had paid over $8 million to Politico in subscription fees in recent years.
“Ran across a $178,000 contract VA had with Politico and we promptly canceled it. That money can be better spent on Veterans health care!” Collins wrote.

“It’s a new day at VA,” Collins told Fox News Digital. “We’re putting Veterans at the center of everything the department does, focusing relentlessly on customer service and convenience. That means cutting wasteful spending and redirecting resources toward programs that benefit Veterans, families, survivors and caregivers.”

The move comes after Politico denied claims that it was a “beneficiary of government programs” last week upon revelations of millions of dollars worth of contracts with federal agencies.
“As surely many of you saw today, there was a spirited discussion at the White House and among officials connected to the Department of Government Efficiency on the subject of government subscriptions for journalism products, at POLITICO and other news organizations,” Politico’s CEO Goli Sheikholeslami and editor-in-chief John Harris jointly wrote to staff on Wednesday in a memo obtained by Fox News Digital.
“This is a fine conversation to have, and we welcome it. The value of POLITICO subscriptions is validated daily in the marketplace. Some parts of today’s conversation, however, were confusing and left some people with false understandings. For this reason, we want you to hear from us on several points.”

Sheikholeslami and Harris stressed Politico “has never been a beneficiary of government programs or subsidies—not one cent, ever, in 18 years” and touted that its subscription service Politico Pro “provides both private and public sector clients with granular, fact-based reporting, real-time intelligence, and tracking tools across key policy areas.”
There was speculation on social media that the $8 million in question all came from USAID, the agency currently being targeted by DOGE co-founder Elon Musk, but only $44,000 of it came from that agency. Base subscriptions are typically between $12,000 and $15,000 for three users.
VA Secretary Doug Collins announced he was cutting a six-figure contract with Politico.

Politico received taxpayer funding for its costly subscription service from elsewhere in the federal government. The Department of Health and Human Services led the way, with $1.37 million followed by $1.35 million from the Department of the Interior, according to USAspending.gov.
The Department of Energy paid Politico $1.29 million, the Department of Agriculture paid $552,024 and the Department of Commerce paid $485,572.

It could be argued that several others are just as deserving, but most notably, Eli Manning, Adam Vinatieri and Terrell Suggs did not make the cut this go-around.

Manning’s New York Giants kept their reaction pretty blunt, simply posting a raised-eyebrow emoji on X.
Manning ranks 11th all-time in passing yards and touchdowns, but the main argument is his two Super Bowl runs.
“Absurd. Eli beat Tom Brady twice in the Super Bowl. There aren’t 5 guys in the history of the game who you’d take over Eli Manning in the 4th quarter of a playoff game. Pure silliness,” wrote one Giants fan.
“My favorite QB…He took s— his whole career and he still is…Man was a legend and never got the credit,” wrote one more.
The anger was the same for perhaps both Patriots and Colts fans for Vinatieri, who holds the NFL records for the most field goal makes and attempts in NFL history. He also knocked two game-winning field goals in the closing seconds of Super Bowls and was lights out for his entire 24-year career.

In fact, many feel that if there were to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer, it should have been Vinatieri.
“adam vinatieri not a first ballot HOFer? throw the whole thing away,” wrote an X user.
Another said, “Vinatieri got hosed. What a joke.”
Meanwhile, even though Jared Allen ranks 12th all time in sacks and got in, Suggs being in eighth is not yet enough. His longtime teammate in stalwart offensive tackle Marshal Yanda also came up short.
“Suggs and Yanda snubbed, Lamar losing, MVP I’m done,” wrote a Ravens fan with a classic angry gif.
It should be noted that those three were all in their first year of eligibility, so perhaps the voters didn’t want this year’s class to wait any longer. Other misses include Reggie Wayne and Steve Smith Sr.

It will not be easy for those guys to get in next year, as Drew Brees, Larry Fitzgerald and Jason Witten will be eligible for induction.

Four players were announced as the next class of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Jared Allen, Antonio Gates, Sterling Sharpe, and Eric Allen will be enshrined into Canton this year.
The former edge rusher in Allen recorded 136 sacks in his 12-year career, the 12th-most all time, twice leading the NFL. His career high was the 22 he put up back in 2011, just one sack shy of surpassing lone solo leader Michael Strahan for the most in a season. He was selected to four All-Pro teams during his time with the Chiefs, Vikings, Bears, and Vikings.

Gates was one of the greatest tight ends of his era and a stepping stone into making what the position is today. His 116 touchdowns are the most ever by a tight end, while his 955 receptions and 11,841 receiving yards are the fourth-most in the position. Spending his entire 16-year career with the Chargers, he made eight consecutive Pro Bowls and will go to Canton after just missing out last year.
Sharpe played just seven seasons in the NFL, but he sure made the most of it. In his career, entirely with the Green Bay Packers, he was named to five Pro Bowls and was an All-Pro three times. Three times he led the NFL in receptions, and twice he led in touchdowns, including his final season when he racked up 18. He recorded five seasons of over 1,100 yards – he put up 595 catches for 8,134 yards and 65 touchdowns.

Eric Allen played 14 seasons, splitting his time with the Eagles, Raiders, and Saints. He twice led the NFL in pick-sixes, recording four in 1993 and three in 2000. He was named to six Pro Bowls after being picked 30th overall in the 1988 NFL Draft.

Across all sports, every new class in their respective Hall of Fame brings about spirited debate. This year for the Pro Football Hall of Fame is no different.
But for one finalist, the circumstances surrounding his place in Canton are more than just a case of championships and stats. His place in the Hall of Fame will likely come down to a tragic case of a murder-suicide.

There are five total finalists for the 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame senior class, including a coach and a contributor. The players up for vote are Maxie Baughan, Sterling Sharpe and Jim Tyrer.
Of the three, the biggest questions surround Tyrer.
Who is Jim Tyrer?

Born in Newark, Ohio, on Feb. 25, 1939, Jim Tyrer is largely considered one of the most dominant offensive tackles of his era.
After playing football at Ohio State, where he was an All-America choice, Tyrer began his 14-year playing career with the Dallas Texans of the American Football League in 1961. His sheer size and strength at left tackle translated to early success on the field, which carried over with the team’s move to Kansas City and the eventual merger with the NFL.
Tyrer was a three-time AFL champion and nine-time AFL All-Star, and he helped the Chiefs win the franchise’s first Super Bowl in 1970. He was a starter in each of his 13 seasons with Chiefs, playing in 180 consecutive games for the third-longest streak in team history.
Tyrer was selected as a member of the AFL’s All-Decade Team of the 1960s and is in the Chiefs’ Hall of Fame. He played his final season for Washington in 1974.
It’s no doubt that Tyrer’s career is worthy of consideration for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but the tragic events that took place on Sept. 15, 1980, have kept his name off the ballot for more than 40 years.

Tyrer was a finalist for the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility and was largely expected to be selected. But in the fall of 1980, that would change.
According to KCTV’s reporting at the time, Tyrer shot his wife, Martha, dead just after 4 a.m. in the bedroom of their home while their four children slept before eventually taking his own life. He was 41 and Martha was 40.
While those closest to the family, including teammates, were shocked by the news, reports would soon surface that there were issues.
ESPN reporter Mark Fainaru-Wada told NPR last week that Tyrer had struggled to find work after his playing career had ended and that the family was experiencing financial struggles. There were also rumors that Tyrer had been dealing with “depression” and “paranoia.”
But in the nearly 45 years that have passed and with the development of science with regard to the long-term effects of playing in contact sports, many argue that Tyrer likely suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).
Dr. Doug Paone, who treated Tyrer days before the murder-suicide, told the Kansas City Star’s Vahe Gregorian in December that he is confident that Tyrer had CTE.
“If it walks like a duck, it quacks, it has webbed feet and water goes off its back, it’s not a zebra: It’s CTE,” he said. “(Tyrer) would be the poster child for CTE.”

What the voters say

At least three of the five senior finalists will be elected to the Pro Football Hall. They will need 80% of the votes from the Selection Committee, who will be allowed to vote for three finalists. If none receive that percentage, then the sole finalist with the most votes will be inducted into the 2025 class.
For Tyrer, the voters appear divided. ESPN spoke to some last month when Tyrer was named a finalist.
“It’s morally abhorrent and unacceptable to put a murderer in the Hall of Fame if you have the power to do otherwise,” longtime voter Jason Cole told the outlet, adding that he has “incredible compassion for the family.”
Cole noted that considering CTE would be “opening up a giant can of worms.”
Opposite of that, Gregorian told ESPN that CTE could be used to explain the tragedy that led to Tyrer and his wife’s untimely death.
“I think when you see that this is a man, who had for decades lived a life that was admired by many, that this change in him was caused by [CTE],” Gregorian said, “… I think to me, it says this was because of severe brain damage, not being of a willful act by this person. I don’t know, that makes me look at it differently.”
The bylaws of the selection process instruct voters not to consider any off-the-field contributions – good or bad – in their decision-making. The class of 2025 will be announced next Thursday at the NFL Honors in New Orleans ahead of Super Bowl LIX.
