Cause of ride closures at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Monday night revealed

‘The Big Money Show’ reacts to the high cost for a Disney vacation and the affordability for average American families.

Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is back to normal operations after a power outage caused numerous ride closures Monday evening, a spokesperson told FOX Business.

The cause of the power outage is not being disclosed, but at one point on Monday evening, 18 rides were shown as closed on the My Disney Experience app. That is nearly half the attractions offered at the resort’s most-visited park, according to USA TODAY.

The high temperature reached 84 degrees in the Orlando area on Monday, data from the National Weather Service shows.

A Disney spokesperson said many people were watching fireworks later in the day when the power outage occurred. Anyone who was on a ride when it went down was safely escorted off, and the park’s after-hours event went on as planned.

At 10 p.m., which was listed as the park’s closing time for those without an after-hours ticket, only three rides remained shut down: Space Mountain, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and “It’s a Small World,” local FOX 35 reported.

The special ticketed event allowed guests to be in the park until 1 a.m. Tuesday.

Senate Democrats speak all night against Trump OMB nominee, delaying confirmation vote

The U.S. Senate stayed in session all night as Democrats delayed a vote on confirming Russell Vought to serve as Office of Management and Budget Director, a position he previously held during part of President Donald Trump’s first term in office.

In a 53-47 party-line vote on Wednesday, all 53 Republicans invoked cloture on the nomination, while all 45 Democrats, and the two independent senators who caucus with the Democrats, voted against the move.

While Democrats cannot stop the vote from eventually taking place, they are using all of the 30 hours available before the inevitable vote on Trump’s nominee.

But they were unable to see Stewart in action because he wasn’t allowed to play.

Stewart was suspended for flagrant fouls assessed throughout the season.

The NBA announced Friday that Stewart would be suspended for the night’s contest after he picked up a sixth flagrant foul point this season.

Stewart picked up a flagrant foul, which prompted an automatic ejection Wednesday after he checked an opponent, Thomas Bryant, when a shot went up.

Bryant had to be held back by his teammates, and Stewart almost immediately walked off the court.

The league announced the suspension, along with a $50,000 fine for Stewart for making “inappropriate and objectionable gestures” after his ejection Wednesday in the Pistons’ 133-119 loss to the Pacers in Indiana.

The gestures were likely the apparent finger guns he pointed at the Pistons bench.

The Pistons and Pacers have history with the Malice at the Palace in 2004.

Stewart entered the game with four flagrant foul points, so the call triggered the automatic suspension based on the league’s regular-season protocols.

Despite the suspension, the Pistons still gave out Stewart bobbleheads to 5,000 fans.

The Pistons have been a pleasant surprise this season. Their 23-24 record is good for eighth place in the Eastern Conference, which would put them in the play-in tournament.

Last year, the Pistons lost an NBA record 27 consecutive games, which resulted in the firing of Monty Williams despite him inking the richest deal in coaching history at the time.

Trump says Reagan National Airport crash could have been prevented: ‘CLEAR NIGHT’

President Donald Trump suggested the horrific collision between an Army Black Hawk helicopter and an American Airlines jet near Reagan National Airport outside Washington, D.C., could have been prevented.

“The airplane was on a perfect and routine line of approach to the airport. The helicopter was going straight at the airplane for an extended period of time,” Trump posted on Truth Social early Thursday morning.

“It is a CLEAR NIGHT, the lights on the plane were blazing, why didn’t the helicopter go up or down, or turn. Why didn’t the control tower tell the helicopter what to do instead of asking if they saw the plane. This is a bad situation that looks like it should have been prevented. NOT GOOD!!!”

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, a PSA Airlines Bombardier CRJ700 regional jet collided in midair with a Sikorsky H-60 helicopter while on approach to Runway 33 at Reagan National Airport (DCA) around 9 p.m. local time. The jet was operating as Flight 5342 for American Airlines, and it departed from Wichita, Kansas.

There were 60 passengers and four crew members aboard the American Airlines flight and three Army soldiers on the Black Hawk. Those aboard the plane included “several members” of U.S. Figure Skating, including athletes, coaches and family members who had just attended the U.S. Figure Skating Championships held in Wichita from Jan. 20 to Jan. 26.

The exact number of injuries and fatalities has not yet been confirmed.

At the time of the crash, Reagan National Airport reported clear skies, visibility of 10 miles and winds sustained out of the northwest at 16 mph, gusting to 26 mph. The temperature was 50 degrees.

Nearly 300 first responders deployed to the freezing Potomac River, where the wreckage of the plane lies partially submerged for search and rescue operations, but hope of finding survivors is fading. The temperature in the river was 37 degrees on Wednesday night.

Vice President JD Vance took to social media Wednesday night to address the collision and urge prayer for those involved.

“Please say a prayer for everyone involved in the mid-air collision near Reagan airport this evening. We’re monitoring the situation, but for now let’s hope for the best,” he said.

The National Transportation Safety Board, FAA and the U.S. Army have each launched probes into the deadly collision.

Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and other officials will hold a press conference at 7:30 a.m. ET Thursday at Reagan National Airport.

“Tonight, as our first responders continue their efforts, we are sending our love and prayers to the families, loved ones, and communities who are experiencing loss during this terrible tragedy,” she wrote on X.

The airport remains closed until 11 a.m. this morning following the nearby collision last night between an American Airlines passenger jet and an Army helicopter.

“What a terrible night this has been,” Trump said. “God bless you all!”
