Elon Musk hints new Grok AI could beat Warren Buffett’s March Madness bracket

Billionaire Elon Musk on Monday said his startup xAI’s latest iteration of the Grok chatbot could help college basketball fans pick a perfect bracket once March Madness begins.

xAI rolled out its new chatbot Grok-3, which is powered by artificial intelligence (AI), on Monday night, and during its event the company’s lead researcher, Jimmy Paul, noted, “We can also do something more fun. For example, how about make a prediction about March Madness?”

“This is kind of a fun one where Warren Buffett has a billion bet that if you exactly match the entire winning tree of March Madness, you can win a billion dollars from Warren Buffett,” Musk said in reference to the NCAA Basketball tournament bracket.

“It would be pretty cool if AI could help you win a billion dollars from Buffett. It seems like a pretty good investment,” he added.

Warren Buffett partnered with Yahoo and Quicken Loans in 2014 to offer a contest in which any contestant who picks a perfect March Madness bracket would win $1 billion. The contest had no winner that year and the jackpot went unclaimed, and the contest has changed in the years since.

Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway revised the challenge so that only company employees are eligible to win the new prize, which is $1 million per year.

The company is yet to announce the details of this year’s contest.

No one has ever picked a perfect NCAA Tournament bracket despite millions of brackets being submitted on various platforms each year when March Madness begins.

To pick a perfect bracket, the would-be oracle of March Madness would have to correctly pick all 63 games in the tournament – including 32 games in the round of 64, plus 16 games in the round of 32, eight games in the Sweet 16, four games in the Elite Eight, the two Final Four games as well as the national championship game. The so-called First Four games, which allow the winners to advance to the round of 64, are typically disregarded in bracket contests.

The NCAA analyzed the probability of making perfect picks for the 63 games in the March Madness bracket.

If a bracket picker guesses the outcome of each game, there is a 1 in 9.2 quintillion chance of picking a perfect bracket, per the NCAA. For reference, one quintillion is one billion billions.

The odds are slightly better for a bracket picker who is knowledgeable about college basketball, though they still face long odds of about 1 in 120.2 billion, according to the NCAA.

Ramzan 2025: Telangana Government Allows Muslim Employees To Leave Work at 4 PM From March 2 to 31 To Offer Prayers

The Telangana Government has issued a special order allowing all Muslim government employees, including teachers, contract workers, and staff from boards, corporations, and public sector organizations, to leave their workplaces early during the month of Ramzan. The decision permits these employees to leave offices, schools, and other government institutions at 4:00 PM from March 2nd to March 31st, 2025, to allow time for prayer during the holy month. However, the order specifies that this concession will not apply in cases where their presence is essential due to the exigencies of service. This move aims to provide Muslim employees with flexibility, enabling them to fulfil their religious obligations while ensuring the smooth functioning of government services. The Telangana Government has recognized the importance of supporting its employees during Ramzan, a period of fasting and prayer for the Muslim community.  Ramzan 2025: Telangana Government To Allow Muslim Employees To Leave Offices Early During Holy Month From March 2 to 31.

March for Life attendees react to JD Vance speech: ‘It was amazing’

Vice President JD Vance received a massive welcome from pro-lifer activists at the March for Life this Friday in his first public address since the inauguration.

Vance touted President Donald Trump’s recent pardons of several pro-life activists prosecuted by the Biden Department of Justice. He also spoke strongly about the need for pro-family governmental policies, saying, “I want to see more babies in the United States of America.”

Trump also delivered remarks to the March for Life crowd via a video message.

Marchers told Fox News Digital that Vance’s presence showed that the new Trump administration stands in solidarity with the pro-life movement and gives them optimism for the future.

“It was amazing,” said Amy Lewis, a pro-lifer who came with a group from Dry Fork Christian School in Virginia. “It was amazing that he was here. We were able to see him and to see that our new administration supports life as much as we do. It just really kind of drives it home that we have an administration that’s here to support us and to support our beliefs.”

Sarah Morales Wade, an activist who came with a pro-life youth group from Houston called the Catholic Organization of Life, told Fox News Digital: “It’s so inspiring to see someone so high up in office fighting with us, with the kids and, and that we have people who are supporting us and who will fight for life with us.”

Elizabeth O’Brien, another member of the Houston group, told Fox News Digital that she thought Vance’s speech was “amazing.”

“When the vice president comes out, and he’s telling us how precious life is, that’s an eye-opener,” she said. “It gives us reassurance that the Trump administration is with us.”

Desrosiers said that though he’s “not sure what to expect” from the Trump administration regarding the abortion issue, he is “optimistic.”

Starbucks corporate layoffs looming in March: CEO

The global coffeehouse chain Starbucks will be cutting corporate jobs as its CEO Brian Niccol continues to implement changes to bolster lagging sales and improve profitability.

Niccol made the announcement via a notice to employees that was also posted on the Starbucks website.

He highlighted how the company aims to deliver on its “Back to Starbucks” strategy, a series of changes announced last year that aims to enhance customers’ in-store experience, but also said it needs to strive for better efficiency, which will ultimately result in layoffs.

“We have recently begun the work to define the support organization for the future. We are approaching this work thoughtfully, but it will involve difficult decisions and choices. I expect that, unfortunately, we will have job eliminations and smaller support teams moving forward,” Niccol wrote.

“This work will not affect our in-store teams or the investments we are making in store hours. We will communicate changes by early March.”

He said he does not take such decisions lightly and wanted to be transparent about his plans in order to ensure that employees heard about the plans directly from him. It is unclear how many people will be let go.

Niccol, who took over as CEO in September, has emphasized the need for the company to get back to its roots as a coffee house.

The “Back to Starbucks” strategy aims to bring back some of the things that made the company the most recognizable coffee brand in the world.

That includes bringing back condiment bars to stores and enhancing the coffee house aesthetic with personal touches, such as serving coffee in ceramic mugs.

STARBUCKS’ ‘FALL FROM GRACE’: HOWARD SCHULTZ SAYS COMPANY NEEDS TO FIX US OPERATIONS

Starbucks is also reintroducing the use of Sharpies to write customers’ names on cups and will stop charging extra for customizing beverages with non-dairy milk.

The company has also set a goal of a four-minute wait time in cafés and has provided additional coverage hours in over 3,000 stores.

Earlier this month, the company said it would only welcome paying customers to hang out and utilize the restrooms at its stores. The move was done to prioritize paying customers who want to sit and enjoy its cafés.

Starting this spring, the company will double its paid parental leave benefits for workers. The company previously offered six weeks of paid time off for parental leave.

Among its latest goals to create a positive work culture, the company also committed to filling 90% of retail leadership roles internally, to ensure employees stay longer and grow with the company. It is also continuing to cover 100% of college tuition for thousands of employees as part of its Starbucks College Achievement Plan and offering company stock to eligible partners.

“We have much more work to do but I’m pleased with the progress we’ve made and appreciate how everyone has rallied around the plan,” Niccol wrote to workers.

Before Niccol took over, the company faced growing pressure from unionization campaigns across the nation and back-to-back disappointing fiscal quarters as traffic declined. Niccol, who replaced former CEO Laxman Narasimhan in August, is trying to boost profitability and create a better environment for workers.

Niccol has also faced employees striking at hundreds of stores nationwide.
