Attorney General Pam Bondi to travel to New Orleans to survey Super Bowl LIX security

Pam Bondi will spend her first full day as U.S. attorney general Thursday traveling to New Orleans to survey security of the Super Bowl game this Sunday, Fox News has learned.

Her trip is part of an effort to highlight the administration’s broader commitment to crack down on violent crime and acts of terrorism.

Bondi will be accompanied by Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry, the Justice Department said, where she will meet with multiple law enforcement groups at the federal and local level, including DOJ components and the FBI field office.

Her visit comes less than two months after a man used a vehicle to ram through crowds on Bourbon Street in New Orleans early New Year’s Day, killing at least 14 people and injuring more than 30 others in what FBI officials said was being investigated as an act of terrorism.

While in New Orleans, Bondi plans to conduct briefings during the visit related to preventing another terrorist attack in New Orleans, DOJ officials told Fox News.

The visit comes as Bondi looks to move on her Day One prioritie— among them, cracking down on terrorist-linked or inspired attacks on U.S. soil.

This is a breaking news story. Check back for updates.

  • Mark Ingram declares Saquon Barkley the reason Eagles are back in Super Bowl LIX: ‘Special season’

Mark Ingram declares Saquon Barkley the reason Eagles are back in Super Bowl LIX: ‘Special season’

Since 2009, there have only been four 2,000-yard rushing seasons in the NFL.

It began with Chris Johnson, known forever as “CJ2K” after his 2009 season with the Tennessee Titans. Then, Adrian Peterson defied all odds when he came back to the Minnesota Vikings after tearing his ACL in 2011, rushing for 2,097 in 2012.

Finally, Derrick Henry, another Titans running back, notched 2,027 yards during the 2020 campaign, and he almost got it again with the Baltimore Ravens in 2024.

The 2024 season’s top rusher, though, was Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley, who had one former running back star believing his campaign was better than all the ones mentioned before.

“In recent memory, man, just the impact he had coming from the Giants and going to the Eagles in season one, is second to none for sure,” Mark Ingram II, the New Orleans Saints legend back in town for Super Bowl LIX where Barkley will be playing, told Fox News Digital on Radio Row. “We’ve seen some special performances from backs, but his season is second to none.

“What he’s been able to do, the value he’s shown to the Eagles organization, the value he’s showing to the Eagles’ offense. It’s been a special season.”

When it comes to running backs, what Ingram loves most is when a player is a complete back. That translates to more than just a north-to-south, bulldozing runner. A do-it-all back can not only cover all the running lanes, but he can pass catch and block out of the backfield.

Barkley has showcased he can do all that in his six seasons with the Giants, but Ingram cannot believe the level he has done it at up to this point.

“The highlight-reel runs he’s had, speed, power, agility, catching the football and jumping over people backwards. He’s operating at a high level right now,” he explained, while also touching on his work with the American Gaming Association this week. “He’s in the zone and that’s why the Eagles are at where they’re at right now because of Saquon Barkley.”

Barkley led the league in rushing with 2,005 yards, and he might have broken Eric Dickerson’s single-season rushing yards record (2,105) if he had not sat out the entire Week 18 regular-season finale against his former Giants. Not only that, he also had 33 receptions for 278 yards and added two touchdowns through the air to mark 15 total on the season.

Barkley’s massive production in 2024 is a clear reason why the Eagles are currently in the same position they were two seasons ago, when they were facing the same Kansas City Chiefs in the “Big Game.”

Is Barkley the difference maker this time around, though? Time, 60 minutes to be exact, on Sunday, will show the football world whether that is true or false.

One thing is for sure: Barkley is special, no matter which way you spin it. Ingram can name anything a running back should do on gameday, and Barkley does it at an elite level.

    HAVE A BETTING GAMEPLAN

Americans are expected to legally wager a record $1.39 billion dollars on Super Bowl LIX this year, which has led Ingram to team up with the American Gaming Association to preach having a betting gameplan.

First and foremost, have a budget and stick to it. Be responsible, bet legally and don’t be harassing players – sending Venmos, sending CashApps when they do not hit your prop bets. Enjoy it, respect it. It is supposed to be entertainment.

Ingram finds it crazy that some fans take betting to the extreme, especially when it comes to what he calls bashing players through various means because they did not win.

“It is crazy. People Venmo-ing, people DMing. It’s crazy, man. The players didn’t set the over/under for themselves, Vegas did. So, be mad at Vegas. The players are out there trying to do everything they can to help their team win a game.”

Each year, the Super Bowl creates memories that last a lifetime for so many, whether they are heading to the “Big Game,” or at home watching with friends and family.

This year, Green Bay Packers star running back Josh Jacobs is doing something special for someone he puts in the category as “the real heroes.”

Retired Sgt. Maj. Kevin Bennett is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, who served 34 years from 1971-2004. He had a career filled with combat missions and assignments that took him to places like Saudi Arabia/Kuwait during Operation Desert Storm, Panama, Norway, Japan, Korea and the Philippines.

Bennett now lives in Stafford, Virginia, but he will be down in the Big Easy on Sunday as Jacobs will be surprising him and his wife of 33 years, Ivette, with Super Bowl LIX tickets to watch the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.

Jacobs stopped by Radio Row with Fox News Digital to explain the honor it is to be surprising Bennett with the two tickets after teaming up with USAA, the official “Salute to Service” partner of the NFL and the Marine Corps Association to honor this deserving military veteran.

“Man, I’m excited because obviously, to me, they’re the real heroes,” Jacobs said. “My grandpa served in the Air Force and my uncle actually served in the Marines. So, for me, it’s definitely closer to home. To be able sit down, talk to him, pick his brain a little bit, tell him I appreciate his service and things like that is definitely huge for me.

“I think that it’s great that we highlight him and what he’s done and let him celebrate this with us.”

Jacobs will meet Bennett and many other military guests at the USAA’s Salute to Service Lounge during the Super Bowl Experience, as one of several NFL stars partnered with the veteran service organizations down in New Orleans.

Being the league’s “Salute to Service” partner, USAA honors military communities all over the country during the NFL season, which includes hosting military members, veterans, their families and more at events like the Super Bowl.

NFL Boot Camps have also been a fun way for those in the military community to get involved and interact with players like Jacobs, while also experiencing some of the best the league has to offer at the Super Bowl, the Pro Bowl, the NFL Draft and more.

The impact of honoring our military is why Jacobs loves moments like he will have with Bennett on Friday ahead of the Big Game.

“With USAA and the Marine Corps, it’s been real big for me. It’s closer to home for me. But not only that, to be able to give back, even if it’s the slightest, or to shine light on the real heroes, I try to do that as much as I can. It’s a blessing and an honor to be able to work with these guys.”

Super Bowl LIX battle: Chiefs and Eagles are both valued in the billions

When the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles hit the field Sunday for Super Bowl LIX, it will be a matchup of two multi-billion-dollar NFL teams.

The Chiefs and Eagles will play each other for the championship title and the Vince Lombardy Trophy at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome, with the highly-anticipated game expected to start at 6:30 p.m. ET.

SUPER BOWL LIX: HOW TO WATCH THE CHIEFS AND EAGLES BATTLE FOR NFL GLORY

Coming into the game, the Chiefs, who are the defending champions, carry an estimated value of $4.85 billion, according to Forbes’ yearly ranking of NFL teams released in late August.

The value of the Eagles, meanwhile, hit $6.6 billion in 2024, the outlet reported.

Those seven-figure estimates, both double-digit percentage-point jumps from 2023, earned the Eagles the No. 8 spot and the Chiefs the No. 24 place on Forbes’ 2024 football team ranking.

The Eagles have seen their value go up 2,550% since Forbes began ranking NFL teams over two dozen years ago, the outlet reported. Kansas City’s has reportedly increased 1,790% in the same timeframe.

While the 2024 values of the Chiefs and the Eagles are both sizable, the Kansas City team is worth $5.25 billion less and Philadelphia is worth $3.5 billion less than 2024’s most-valuable team, the $10.1 billion Dallas Cowboys, according to the outlet. Dallas did not make the playoffs this season.

If Kansas City wins Super Bowl LIX, it would mark the team’s fourth Super Bowl title and their third back-to-back. Meanwhile, victory for the Eagles would add a second title to their record.

Chiefs owner Clark Hunt told The Rich Eisen Show winning a third consecutive Super Bowl “would really be a credit to Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, his teammates, for the work that they’ve put in not only over the last three years but really the entire time they’ve been with our organization.”

Patrick Mahomes responds to possibility Trump will attend Super Bowl LIX

Donald Trump is expected to become the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl Sunday to watch Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs attempt to become the first team in NFL history to win a third straight Super Bowl.

Mahomes gave his thoughts on Trump attending the game to reporters Wednesday.

“It’s always cool to be able to play in front of a sitting president,” Mahomes said. “Someone that is at the top position in our country.”

Earlier Wednesday, when Trump was asked who he expected to win the Super Bowl, the president didn’t give a definitive answer but alluded to Mahomes’ success.

“I don’t want to say, but there’s a certain quarterback that seems to be a pretty good winner,” Trump said when asked which team he’s rooting for.

While Trump didn’t identify Mahomes by name, he has expressed fondness and respect for the quarterback and his wife Brittany in recent months. The other quarterback playing in the game, Eagles star Jalen Hurts, has yet to win a Super Bowl.

Mahomes recognized Trump was probably talking about him and gave his thoughts about the cryptic praise from the president.

“It’s cool to hear that he’s seen me play football and respects the game that I play,” Mahomes told reporters Wednesday.

Mahomes’ mother, Randi Mahomes, endorsed Trump just days before the Nov. 5 election in a video to OutKick.

Other Chiefs figures have also acknowledged the historical impact Trump’s presence will bring to the game.

Gracie Hunt, the daughter of Chiefs team owner Clark Hunt, spoke to Riley Gaines on OutKick’s “Gaines for Girls” podcast and reacted to Trump’s remarks.

“It’s pretty cool. It’s pretty awesome,” she told Gaines. “Sometimes, I just look at whoever I’m talking to, and I’m like, ‘Yeah, that just wasn’t on my 2025 bingo card.’ But, wow, that’s just absolutely incredible.”

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce called it an “honor.”

“I think, you know, no matter who the president is, I know I’m excited because it’s the biggest game of my life, you know. And having the president there, you know, it’s the best country in the world. So, that’d be pretty cool,” Kelce said.

The tight end said this despite dating Taylor Swift, a longtime Democrat who supported Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.

Mahomes declined to endorse a candidate in the recent election when reporters pressed him about it Sept. 11, but he did encourage people to vote in the best interest of their families.

“I don’t want my place and my platform to be used to endorse a candidate or do whatever, either way,” Patrick said at the time. “I think my place is to inform people to get registered to vote. It’s to inform people to do their own research and then make the best decision for them and their family.”

Brittany incited controversy and support in August when it was revealed she liked an Instagram post by Trump that laid out his 2024 policy agenda. She addressed the backlash multiple times and appeared to double down on her support for Trump with additional social media likes. Trump even thanked her for the support in a post on Truth Social.

After Swift endorsed Harris Sept. 10, Trump said in an interview on “Fox & Friends” the next morning he liked Brittany “much better” than Swift.

Patrick Mahomes commended his wife’s influence Sept. 11 when asked about Trump’s comments about her.

“I think you see Brittany does a lot in the community,” Mahomes told reporters. “At the end of the day, it’s about me and my family and how we treat other people.”

After the Chiefs defeated the Buffalo Bills in the AFC championship game Jan. 26, Trump sent a congratulatory post to the team on Truth Social.

Eagles fan Jill Biden to attend Super Bowl LIX: report

Jill Biden, the former first lady and a Philadelphia Eagles fan, will reportedly head to New Orleans for the Super Bowl Sunday with her grandson.

Former President Joe Biden will not be in attendance at the game, USA Today reported Wednesday. The Bidens’ grandson, Hunter, is the son of their late son Beau.

Jill and her grandson were in attendance for the 2023 Super Bowl when the Eagles played the Kansas City Chiefs.

Philadelphia nearly knocked Kansas City off the first time the two teams met in the Super Bowl. But the Chiefs got the upper hand. The win kickstarted Kansas City’s run at a dynasty. The Chiefs have won three of the last four Super Bowls and have a shot at three straight, a feat no NFL team has accomplished.

Jill Biden reacted to the Eagles’ NFC championship win nearly two weeks ago.

  • Super Bowl LIX to highlight small businesses with help from Google’s AI

Super Bowl LIX to highlight small businesses with help from Google’s AI

The Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages for marketing. This year, Google is using it to turn the spotlight on small businesses throughout America that are benefitting from its artificial intelligence models.

As part of its “50 Stories, 50 States” campaign, Google will illustrate the impact of artifical intelligence on small businesses by featuring 50 customer stories from all 50 states. The ads will appear next to commercials from some of the biggest brands in the world that doled out millions for the coveted airtime.

Massachusetts’ Joe the Architect, Oregon’s Jacobsen’s Salt Co, New Jersey’s Nuts.com and Texas’ Bison Coolers will be among the businesses profiled, along with their use of Google Gemini.

It comes as AI is taking center stage across a wide range of industries and in aspects of everyday life. At the same time, it’s also fueling panic among politicians and investors, as China’s DeepSeek begins to catch up with U.S. tech companies.

THROWING A SUPER BOWL PARTY? WHAT THIS YEAR’S FOODS WILL COST

“We wanted to show what’s possible with AI in Workspace today, and how real businesses are using it,” Harris Beber, head of Global Marketing for Workspace, said. “What better way to show the unexpected ways AI helps real businesses in America than to let them share their stories?”

Gemini, Google’s generative AI chatbot formerly known as Bard, has a core functionality included with Workspace business and enterprise plans, allowing customers to access tools that can help them with everything from writing grant proposals to developing marketing copy to mocking up designs in Slides, Harris said.

Jeremy and Dennis Denson are the co-founders of Bison Coolers, a family-owned business that makes coolers in the United States. (Bison Coolers)

Google said it specifically highlighted the impact of its technology on small businesses as they are a critical driver of the U.S. economy. The more than 34 million small businesses in the U.S. account for 43.5% of gross domestic product, according to the Small Business Administration (SBA). They also account for 99.9% of all businesses.

“Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy. We take a lot of pride in knowing that we’re helping create jobs here in the US,” Bison Coolers co-founder Jeremy Denson said. “We’ve been able to save and create jobs at both of our domestic plants, and it’s incredibly rewarding to know that we’re contributing to both our local communities as well as our economy.”

Denson said that the company doesn’t have the resources its competitors do because it’s a small, family-owned business. His company provides heavy-duty coolers ideal for camping, hunting and marine use. It manufactures everything in the U.S.

Denson said his company relies on Workspace and Gemini to be more efficient in its daily operations as well as our marketing needs.

“We use AI to help craft marketing emails, product descriptions, social media posts or any other opportunities that can help improve efficiency and quality,” he said.

It has helped them maintain profitability despite higher manufacturing costs.

“Being able to accomplish more with less allows us to focus more on strategy, product development and driving growth,” Denson said.

Other businesses highlighted vary across a range of industries. Some of the other 50 businesses include the Custard Stand in Webster Springs, West Virginia; the American Cornhole League in Rock Hill, South Carolina; and Morgan Ranch in Omaha, Nebraska, which produces premium wagyu beef for global markets.

Trump’s Super Bowl LIX visit would be ‘great honor,’ Chiefs star Travis Kelce says

Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce reacted on Wednesday to the possibility of President Donald Trump going to Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.

Trump is expected to attend the game and become the first sitting president to do so, a source told Fox News Digital on Tuesday. A White House official also told The Associated Press that the 47th president was expected at Caesars Superdome.

Kelce was asked about it at a pre-Super Bowl press conference.

“I think it’s a great honor no matter who the president is,” he said, via the New York Post. “I know I’m excited because it’s the biggest game of my life, you know, and having the president there, you know, it’s the best country in the world. So, that’d be pretty cool.”

Trump is expected to be with House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, the paper reported.

The Chiefs star joined the team when they made their White House trip to celebrate Super Bowl LVIII’s victory over the San Francisco 49ers with then-President Joe Biden. Kelce joked at the time he was told he’d be tased if he came up to the podium and stole the spotlight.

Kelce didn’t endorse anyone for president. His girlfriend, Taylor Swift, endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris.

Trump was asked on Tuesday who he was pulling for in the game. He was a bit coy with his answer

“I don’t want to say, but there’s a certain quarterback that seems to be a pretty good winner,” he said, appearing to reference Patrick Mahomes.

Trump congratulated the Chiefs on their AFC Championship win over the Buffalo Bills.

“Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “What a GREAT Team, Coach, Quarterback, and virtually everything else, including those fantastic FANS, that voted for me (MAGA!) in record numbers. Likewise, congratulations to the Buffalo Bills on a tremendous season. They will do a lot of winning long into the future!!!”

As the countdown for Super Bowl LIX continues, a high-profile U.S. political figure is expected to be on hand.

Punchbowl News was first to report that President Donald Trump will likely be in attendance when the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles go head-to-head in this year’s Super Bowl in New Orleans. The Associated Press confirmed the report, citing a White House official.

Trump would be the first sitting president to attend the game, per the New York Post

News of Trump’s impending visit to Caesars Superdome this Sunday sparked strong reactions. On Tuesday, an op-ed piece from USA Today columnist Mike Freeman addressed the president’s reported decision to watch the NFL’s championship game in person. Freeman characterized Trump as “the most divisive president of our lifetime.”

He asserted that the Super Bowl is typically a moment in which the majority of Americans come together, despite their differences.

“We put aside politics. We put aside our differences. We take part in a great American tradition,” Freeman noted.

However, instead of allowing the big game to take on its annual role “as a genuine moment of unity,” Freeman argued that Trump’s presence could sully the moment’s integrity.

“Trump soils everything. Now, he’s doing the same to the biggest game of the year,” he continued.

Freeman also pointed to some of the likely logistical concerns Trump’s presence would create for security personnel leading up to and during Sunday.

“There’s a reason sitting presidents don’t normally go. It’s potentially a security nightmare. But also, to me, they want the game to be the center of attention, not them,” he wrote.

Trump did not attend many NFL games during his first term in the White House. However, he did make an appearance at the Pittsburgh Steelers’ game against the New York Jets in October following a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

The president has been a more frequent guest at college football games over the last few years. He made his presence felt at the Alabama-Georgia game in September and attended the Army-Navy game following the 2024 U.S. presidential election.

Before the game kicks off, Trump will speak with Fox News Channel’s Bret Baier. The pre-taped interview took place at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, and will air in the 3 p.m. ET hour on Super Bowl Sunday.

The news of Trump’s upcoming appearance coincided with a report from The Athletic about the NFL’s decision to switch the “End Racism” end zone signage to messages of “Choose Love” and “It Takes All of Us.” The messages are one facet of the league’s multilayered “Inspire Change,” which was created in 2018 and makes efforts to advance diversity and inclusion.

Super Bowl LIX will kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET. Pregame coverage can be seen on FOX beginning at 1 p.m. ET. Tubi will also stream coverage on its platform for the first time.
