White House scorches ‘moron’ left-wing senator for seething over ‘obvious’ parody account

The White House slammed Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy as a “moron” on social media after the Connecticut lawmaker posted an expletive-riddled admonishment against a Lara Trump parody account he seemingly believed belonged to the president’s daughter-in-law.

“You are a moron, Chris. It is obvious this page is not affiliated with President Trump, his family, or the administration. We do, however, support your right to make such a statement, no matter how imbecilic it makes you look,” the White House’s X account, Rapid Response 47, said in a message posted on Friday.

The rapid response account is a new White House account that was launched in January to hold “fake news accountable.”

The White House was responding to Murphy singling out a social media post he ostensibly believed Lara Trump posted regarding border czar Tom Homan potentially arresting Rep. Alexandira Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y. Murphy included a screenshot of the alleged Lara Trump tweet, showing the handle for the account belongs to an X page called the “Lara Trump Page,” a parody fan account – not her official X account.

“If you support Border Czar Tom Homan arresting AOC for giving illegal aliens instructions on how to avoid deportation, post a [thumbs up emoji] in the comments,” the fan page account posted on Thursday. “Make your voice heard.”

Murphy responded to the social media post by arguing the Trump administration has “some f—ing gall” discussing free speech when advocating for the arrest of a Democrat.

“It takes some f—ng gall to have Vance lecturing Europe on ‘free speech’ when at the exact same time the Trump regime is threatening Democrats back home with arrest if they even explain people’s rights to them,” Murphy posted to X on Friday.

Murphy’s tweet was hit with a community note, detailing that he was responding to a parody fan account and that Lara Trump did not issue such a tweet.

“This is a screenshot of a parody account of Lara Trump. Her real account is below and no such post exists,” the community note states.

Fox News Digital reached out to Murphy’s office for comment Sunday morning, but did not immediately reply.

The parody account’s message was likely referring to Ocasio-Cortez’s office posting a webinar “Know Your Rights” guide about how illegal immigrants can avoid deportation amid the Trump administration’s border crackdown following the immigration crisis that rocked the U.S. under the Biden administration.

Homan, former acting director of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and current border czar under the second Trump administration, told Fox News’ Laura Ingraham last week that he asked the Justice Department if Ocasio-Cortez’s guide crossed a legal line.

“Is that impeding our law enforcement efforts?” Homan said on the “Ingraham Angle.” “If so, what are we going to do about it? Is she crossing the line? So I’m working with the Department of Justice and finding out. Where is that line that they cross? So maybe AOC is going to be in trouble now.”

Left-wing billionaires bankroll Dem super PAC plotting to win back working-class voters: ‘This is a priority’

The top super PAC supporting House Democrats has created a $50 million fund aimed at finding ways to win back working-class voters thanks to some of the richest Democrats in the country.

“We’re laying a marker down now,” Mike Smith, president of the House Majority PAC, told the New York Times about his group’s “Win Them Back Fund,” which was created to appeal to working-class voters that shifted away from the party in the November election.

“This is a priority.”

The list of donors to the House Majority PAC over the last few years includes several Democratic billionaires such as businessman Michael Bloomberg, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, hedge fund manager Tom Steyer, and Linked In co-founder Reid Hoffman.

FEC records show that Bloomberg gave $13 million to the PAC between 2023 and 2024 to go along with $3 million from Pritzker and $2 million from Steyer.

Hoffman gave over $1.5 million to the PAC, according to FEC records.

Other high-profile donations to the House Majority PAC include $10 million from philanthropist Fred Eychaner, $3.5 million from investor Stephen Mandel Jr., and $2 million from software developer Chris Wanstrath.

The PAC announced it will target roughly a dozen specific races, including GOP Reps. Nick Begich in Alaska; Eli Crane, in Arizona’s 2nd District; David Valadao, California’s 22nd District; Ken Calvert, California’s 41st District; Gabe Evans, Colorado’s 8th District; Mariannette Miller-Meeks, Iowa’s 1st District; John James, Michigan’s 10th District.

“One of the major roadblocks we have faced as a party has been declining support among a multi-racial group of working class voters,” HMP said in a press release this week. “That’s why HMP is today launching a 2026 Win Them Back Fund focused on ensuring that we win back working class voters across the congressional battlefield. “

“While Democrats at the Presidential level have consistently lost ground with working class voters for over the last decade, House Democrats like Reps. Adam Gray, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, Don Davis, and Gabe Vasquez continue to overperform with this crucial bloc of voters. Their victories demonstrate that House Democrats can win back this coalition of voters with the support of strategic investments in recruitment, research, and programming.”

In a statement to Fox News Digital regarding the billionaires’ support, House Majority PAC communications director CJ Warnke said, “The Trump administration is currently being run by Ghislaine Maxwell’s BFF Elon Musk and the richest, most elite, and out-of-touch men on the planet.”

“Their plan is to steal benefits from hardworking Americans and enrich themselves even further, and House Democrats will put an end to their scams and schemes,” he continued.

A long list of polls, pundits and politicians have publicly concluded since the November election that the Democratic Party shifted away from working-class voters during the presidential campaign, causing Republican victories in key House and Senate races along with President Donald Trump’s return to the White House.

“It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them,” Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., posted on X after the election. “While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change. And they’re right.”

Trump White House renews crucial pledge as left-wing activists sue over border crackdown

A group of left-wing activist groups, led by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), sued the Trump administration on Monday over its efforts to limit the use of asylum at the southern border – leading the Trump White House to renew a crucial pledge.

On day one of his administration, President Donald Trump signed executive orders declaring a national emergency at the border and allowing officials to remove immigrants without allowing them to request asylum, citing an “invasion” at the border.

It was part of a crackdown at the border that included deploying the military and ending parole programs. Fox News Digital reported last week that border numbers in the first seven days in office were down 60% compared to the last week of the Biden administration.

The ACLU and other groups say that the use of the power is unlawful, given U.S. asylum law allows immigrants to apply for asylum, even if they entered the U.S. illegally.

The lawsuit claims that the “unlawful” and “unprecedented” order is doing just what Congress by statute decreed that the United States must not do.

“It is returning asylum seekers—not just single adults, but families too—to countries where they face persecution or torture, without allowing them to invoke the protections Congress has provided. Indeed, the Proclamation does not even exempt unaccompanied children, despite the specific protections such children receive by statute,” it says.

“This is an unprecedented power grab that will put countless lives in danger,” said Lee Gelernt, deputy director of the ACLU’s Immigrants’ Rights Project. “No president has the authority to unilaterally override the protections Congress has afforded those fleeing danger.”

Groups signed onto the lawsuit include the National Immigrant Justice Center, Texas Civil Rights Project, the Center for Gender & Refugee Studies, the ACLU of the District of Columbia and the ACLU of Texas.

The White House indicated in a statement that it has no plans to change course from its current trajectory.

“President Trump was given a resounding mandate to end the disregard and abuse of our immigration laws and secure our borders,” White House spokesperson Kush Desai told Fox News Digital. “The Trump administration will continue to put Americans and America First.”

It is the latest lawsuit by the ACLU against the Trump administration. The ACLU filed a lawsuit last month over Trump’s order ending birthright citizenship for the children of illegal immigrants and those holding temporary visas.

The lawsuit claimed the order is unconstitutional and against both congressional intent and Supreme Court precedent. The lawsuit was separate to one filed by two dozen states on the same issue. The White House said in response that the lawsuits are “nothing more than an extension of the Left’s resistance – and the Trump administration is ready to face them in court.”
