Auburn baseball star Cade Belyeu crushes 1st homer of season hours after mother’s death

Auburn Tigers outfielder Cade Belyeu opened the 2025 season with a heavy heart and enormous emotional pressure on his shoulders as the team played the Holy Cross Crusaders.

Belyeu hit a solo home run in the sixth inning against Holy Cross. It was Belyeu and the Tigers’ first home run of the season. It turned out he played for more than just an early-season victory.

The sophomore’s mother, Staci, had died after a battle with breast cancer a few hours earlier. Auburn head coach Butch Thompson said the team was trying to figure out what they were going to do if Belyeu was going to take the night to collect his thoughts.

“He said Staci wanted him to play,” Thompson told the Montgomery Advertiser. “I think it was the most inspiring thing we’ve ever seen. Our crowd is just amazing. They absolutely sensed and knew what was going on with him. … An inspiration by Cade Belyeu.”

2 Eagles fans camped out for Super Bowl parade 24 hours before start: ‘We bleed green’

The city of Philadelphia is all prepared for a massive party on Friday, but a good night’s sleep will not be coming for a couple of fans who are sitting in the cold all night to get a front-row look at the Super Bowl LIX champions parading through town.

FOX 29’s Steve Keeley spoke to two Eagles fans, Eric and DeSean, who were camped outside the Philadelphia Museum of Art, which is the last leg of the Super Bowl parade on Friday, which kicks off at 11 a.m.

The parade will not get to the museum until around 2 p.m., and the two fans said they set up their chairs and other goods at 3 p.m. on Thursday.

So, for 24 hours, these two will brave the cold temperatures and wait for their beloved Eagles to come rolling around to the museum to present the Lombardi Trophy to the City of Brotherly Love.

“I don’t think I’m going to sleep,” one of the fans said. “I’m going to be up. Plenty more of my cousins are coming down, so we’re going to be down here just chilling.”

MICS CATCH SAQUON BARKLEY, FIANCÉE’S EMOTIONAL EXCHANGE AFTER EAGLES SUPER BOWL VICTORY: ‘SO PROUD’

The other die-hard fan said he did the same thing in 2019, which was the first-ever Super Bowl won by the franchise.

“We were out here on the outside side of the pool doing the same thing,” he said.

Of course, braving the elements is a must, but having done this in the past has led to some smart choices, like wearing two coats and a jumper underneath the Eagles jerseys.

Additionally, when the crowd starts to get massive, which it will, considering the loyalty this fan base has proven to show for its teams, these two will not mind a little pushing and shoving.

“It’s all love, man. It’s Eagles fans,” they said.

“I mean, we bleed green. When you bleed green, you show real love, and you come out here, and we’ll be waiting for Saquon Barkley and Hurts to come up there and grab that trophy – bring it back home.”

American Airlines subsidiary announced corporate HQ move from Ohio to North Carolina hours before deadly crash

On Wednesday — the same day as the deadly midair collision between a military helicopter and a passenger airplane that occurred Wednesday night — PSA Airlines had announced plans to relocate its corporate headquarters from Ohio to North Carolina, reports indicate.

PSA Airlines made the announcement “hours before” the fatal crash, the Dayton Daily News reported.

PSA is a subsidiary of American Airlines Group. According to American Airlines, American Eagle Flight 5342, the flight involved in the incident, “was operated by PSA Airlines with a CRJ-700.”

Fox News Digital reached out to American Airlines and PSA Airlines for comment about the announced headquarters relocation, but did not receive comment in time for publication.

It appears that there was a page on the PSA airlines website about the headquarters relocation announcement —  but the link to that press release, as well as other links to the PSA Airlines website, currently redirect to the homepage of the American Airlines website.

“We chose to relocate PSA’s headquarters to Charlotte for several important reasons, including that Charlotte is where most of our daily departures occur and almost all our training is based,” PSA president and CEO Dion Flannery noted, according to the Dayton Daily News.  “Charlotte is a vibrant community and home to the world’s seventh-busiest airport.”

“While we’re looking forward to getting integrated into the Charlotte community, I want to sincerely thank the city of Dayton, its leaders and the entire Dayton community for embracing and supporting PSA for so many years. We will continue to have a presence in Dayton with a maintenance hangar and crew base, including more than 550 Dayton-based team members,” he noted, according to the outlet.

Dozens lost their lives due to the deadly crash.

“Sadly, there are no survivors,” President Trump said on Thursday.

    The incident is under investigation.

The National Transportation Safety Board’s media relations division noted in Thursday a post on X that “NTSB investigators recovered the cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder from the Bombardier CRJ700 airplane involved in yesterday’s mid-air collision at DCA. The recorders are at the NTSB labs for evaluation.”

Trump’s ‘shock and awe’: Forget first 100 days, new president shows off frenetic pace in first 100 hours

    Buckle up.

President Donald Trump is back in the White House and moving at warp speed.

In his inauguration address, the new president vowed that things across the country would “change starting today, and it will change very quickly.”

And moments later, White House deputy chief of staff Taylor Budowich took to social media to tease, “Now, comes SHOCK AND AWE.”

    They weren’t kidding.

TRUMP UNPLUGGED: WHAT THE NEW PRESIDENT IS DOING THAT BIDEN RARELY DID

Trump signed an avalanche of executive orders and actions in his first eight hours in office, which not only fulfilled major campaign trail promises, but also allowed the returning president to flex his executive muscles as well as settle some longstanding grievances.

The president immediately cracked down on immigration, moved towards a trade war with top allies and adversaries, reversed many policies implemented by former President Biden, including scrapping much of the previous administration’s federal diversity actions and energy and climate provisions.

HEAD HERE FOR FOX NEWS UPDATES ON PRESIDENT TRUMP’S FIRST 100 DAYS IN THE WHITE HOUSE

He also sparked a major controversy by pardoning or commuting the sentences of roughly 1,500 supporters who took part in the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol in an unsuccessful attempt to upend congressional certification of Biden’s 2020 election victory. Among those whose sentences were commuted included some who violently assaulted police officers on one of America’s darkest days.

Trump also fired some top government officials, made a high-profile half-trillion dollar tech investment announcement, held unscripted and wide-ranging, informal, and impromptu news conferences during his first two days back at the White House, and even renamed the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America.

“I think it’s brilliant how they’ve been handling it, to immediately meet the moment with action. It’s exactly what he needs to do and its exactly what the people voted for,” veteran Republican strategist Kristin Davison told Fox News.

“Americans vote for decisive, fast action, and true leadership. And Trump understands that more than anyone. I think he and his team knew how important it was out the gate to show that they heard what the people wanted and are answering with leadership,” Davison argued.

WATCH: TRUMP SITS DOWN IN OVAL OFFICE WITH FOX NEWS’ HANNITY

Longtime Republican consultant Alex Castellanos agreed

“He’s flooding the zone. He’s making a case for action. He’s demonstrating action. He is rallying a wave of American support for a massive transformation of government,” Castellanos, a veteran of numerous GOP presidential campaigns, told Fox News.

Seasoned Democratic strategist Joe Caiazzo didn’t dispute Trump’s frenetic actions.

“The pace of this shouldn’t be surprising to anyone. Trump made it abundantly clear he was going to act quickly, he was going to act boldly, and he was going to do exactly what he told voters he would do,” Caiazzo said.

But he argued that “the things he is doing is going to directly negatively impact working families from coast to coast. It’s also a signal he has no respect for the rule of law.”

    TRUMP’S AVALANCHE OF EXECUTIVE ORDERS

Asked if Trump’s actions were what Americans voted for this past autumn, Caiazzo replied “of course not. What Americans voted for was cheaper groceries. What Donald Trump is going to give us is a litany of policies that work to deteriorate our institutions, that work to enrich the wealthy and solidify his standing among the oligarchy in this country.”

There’s another reason for Trump’s fast pace – even though he’s the new president, he’s also a term-limited and lame-duck president. And by Labor Day, much of the political world will start looking ahead to the 2026 midterm elections.

“This is his second term. He’s got to move quickly,” Davison emphasized.

Trump’s show of force in the opening days of his second administration is also in contrast to eight years ago, when he first entered the White House.

The president and his team are much more seasoned the second time around, and the supporting cast is intensely loyal to Trump.

“In the past administration, there would be logjams and bottlenecks because there were people who didn’t agree with him,” a senior White House source told Fox News. “Now we have a whole infrastructure and staff that’s built around him, in support of him. When he says something, it’s getting done. It’s testament to him and the team that he built.”

Credit is also being given to White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, who, as co-campaign manager of Trump’s 2024 presidential bid, kept the trains on the tracks.

“What Susie has done is look at the totality of Trump and found the best players and put them in the best positions to support the president. Trump is surrounded by Trump people who’ve all proven themselves over the years not just to be loyal but ultra-competent operators,” added the adviser, who asked for anonymity to speak more freely.

SpaceX launches four rockets in less than 40 hours

In less than 48 hours, SpaceX pulled off a stunning feat, conducting four launches in three states, with huge implications for the future of space exploration.

The first launch came on Sunday, with the enormous Starship rocket blasting off from the southern tip of Texas. Remarkably, the first-stage booster flew back to the launch pad, where the tower’s metal arms caught the descending 232-foot booster.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk called it a “Big step towards making life multiplanetary.”

Eagles sell dirty snow from playoff game vs. Rams to fans for $50, and it sells out in hours

The Philadelphia Eagles attempted to make money by selling cartons of snow for $50 each to their fans, and it worked.

The team is officially sold out of pints of memorabilia snow at Lincoln Financial Field during the playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams last Sunday. The Eagles won the game 28-22 in snowy conditions to advance to the NFC Championship game, so the team memorialized the snow by collecting it, putting it into ice-cream style pints and selling it for the $50 price tag.

It sold out in less than three hours.

The game had a recorded attendance of 69,879. Many of those fans could have simply taken the snow at the stadium with them for free.

The conditions of the game are believed to have played a role in the result and have benefited the Eagles, as Rams players committed multiple drops, fumbles and incomplete passes that appeared to be impacted by the snow.

The team claims their snow is the first-ever authenticated snow collectible tied to an NFL playoff win and “sets a new standard in the world of sports.”

“The Philadelphia Eagles’ divisional-round victory over the Los Angeles Rams on January 19, 2025, will forever be remembered for being a snow covered victory!” the product description on the team’s website read.

“To commemorate this incredible achievement, authenticated snow was collected directly from the end zone at Lincoln Financial Field immediately after the game. This isn’t your typical piece of memorabilia—it’s a tangible, frozen snapshot of the grit, passion, and determination that defined the iconic game. By preserving and authenticating the very snow that surrounded this monumental game, fans are offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to connect with the playoff experience like never before.”

While the Eagles organization has monetized snow, the fans have a reputation for weaponizing it.

Former Dallas Cowboys star linebacker DeMarcus Ware told Fox News Digital that Eagles fans once hurled snowballs stuffed with batteries at his mother during a game his rookie year in 2005.

“My rookie season when my mom was in the stands, I told her not to wear my jersey, and she was in the front row, and we’re up there in Philly. They were putting batteries in snowballs and throwing them, and one of them hit my mom,” Ware said. “I turned around at the time, and I didn’t care about football anymore. I wanted to go get the guy who was in the stands. But I didn’t.”

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday pledged to “deepen strategic coordination” in a video call less than a day after President Donald Trump re-entered the White House.

A transcript of the call posted to the Kremlin’s website showed that both Putin and Xi referred to one another as “friends” and vowed to back one another’s strategic interests, no matter the “current global situation.”

“This year, I am ready, together with you, to elevate Chinese-Russian relations to a new level, to counter external uncertainties by preserving stability and resilience of Chinese-Russian relations,” Xi said while addressing Putin.

The pair both vowed to back the U.N.-centered international system ahead of the 80th anniversary this year, and to defend the post-World War II global order – a nod to Putin’s pursuit to reclaim Ukraine in what many have argued is an attempt to re-establish the Soviet Union.

Xi also told Putin about a call he had with Trump on Friday regarding TikTok, trade and Taiwan, according to a report by Reuters.

The Chinese and Russian leaders also reportedly “indicated a willingness to build relations with the United States on a mutually beneficial, mutually respectful basis,” Kremlin foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov told reporters, adding this will happen “if the Trump team really shows interest in this.”

“It was also noted from our side that we are ready for dialogue with the new U.S. administration on the Ukrainian conflict,” he added.

Neither readouts of the call issued by China or Russia directly mentioned Ukraine, though Russia highlighted that Beijing has remained a major supporter of Moscow’s economy as it is the largest consumer of Russian energy resources – a major earner for Putin’s war effort.

“Five years ago, we launched the Power of Siberia gas pipeline together, and today, Russia has become the leading supplier of natural gas to China,” the Kremlin said in a readout.

Though according to Beijing, Moscow did directly address China’s interests in Taiwan and, according to the readout issued by the Chinese Communist Party, “Russia firmly supports Taiwan as an integral part of China’s territory and firmly opposes any form of ‘Taiwan independence.’”
