Warriors’ Jimmy Butler faces ‘crybaby’ slight from NBA great

Jimmy Butler saw his trade wish granted by the Miami Heat, but one Basketball Hall of Famer called him a “crybaby” for how it all went down.

Tim Hardaway Sr. commented on Butler’s eventual trade to the Golden State Warriors, a team the former became a star with in the 1990s, during a SiriusXM NBA Radio appearance.

“I didn’t agree with what he was doing — you’re under contract,” Hardaway said.

“[Butler’s] a baby. [He’s] a crybaby because they said no to you.”

Heat president Pat Riley initially said the team had no intentions of trading Butler back in December after reports came out that he preferred to be moved.

‘INSIDE THE NBA’ HAS SPIRITED DEBATE OVER HEAT STAR JIMMY BUTLER’S DRAMA, LATEST SUSPENSION

However, Butler’s response to that was ultimately something that led to “conduct detrimental to the team.”

What did Butler do? He reportedly walked out of a practice and missed a team flight for a road trip, leading to suspensions on both occasions.

Finally, the Heat gave in before the NBA trade deadline, sending Butler to the Warriors.

    Tim Hardaway speaks into microphone

How Butler handled everything is something Hardaway couldn’t fathom in his playing days.

“We used to get said ‘no’ to us all the time, and we used to know how to take it,” he explained. “It is what it is. It’s a question. You get a yes or a no. You might not like the question, but you can’t deviate and mess up the team.”

Butler has requested trades in the past, especially during his sour ending in Minnesota with the Timberwolves. However, he isn’t the only NBA star to do so in recent seasons, as James Harden and Kawhi Leonard can attest.

And as Hardaway mentioned, stars in the past also requested trades, but had those denied. How Butler handled the situation, though, is different than what Hardaway has seen.

Since the trade, Butler has played four games with his new Warriors squad, averaging 21.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.3 assists in those contests. Golden State won three of those four games.

  • Maha Shivaratri 2025 Date and Shubh Muhurat: Rituals, Legends and Significance To Celebrate the Great Night of Lord Shiva

Maha Shivaratri 2025 Date and Shubh Muhurat: Rituals, Legends and Significance To Celebrate the Great Night of Lord Shiva

Maha Shivaratri is a monumental festival that celebrates the divine union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti. This night, which falls on the Chaturdashi Tithi during the Krishna Paksha of the Magha month, holds deep spiritual significance. In South India, this festival is observed according to the South Indian calendar, while in North India, it corresponds to the Masik Shivaratri of the Phalguna month. Despite differences in naming conventions based on regional lunar calendars, devotees across India celebrate Maha Shivaratri on the same day. So, when is Maha Shivratri 2025? Below, find the Maha Shivratri 2025 date, shubh mhurat, rituals, legends and significance to celebrate the Great Night of Shiva. Hindu Festivals Calendar 2025: Know the Dates of Holi, Chaitra Navratri, Durga Puja, Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali and Other Major Festivals in India.

Maha Shivaratri 2025 Date and Shubh Muhurat

In 2025, Maha Shivaratri will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 26, with the Nishita Kaal Puja occurring from 12:09 AM to 12:59 AM on February 27. The duration of this ritual is 50 minutes, marking an auspicious period for worship and devotion.

    Maha Shivaratri Legends and Significance

Maha Shivaratri is steeped in numerous legends and stories, especially as recounted in texts like the Linga Purana. These ancient scriptures underline the importance of observing a fast and paying homage to Lord Shiva, particularly through worship of his iconic symbol, the Shiva Lingam. According to one legend, this night is when Lord Shiva performed his cosmic dance, the Tandava, which signifies the eternal cycle of creation, preservation, and destruction. Purnima 2025 Calendar: Know Full Moon Dates, Poornima Significance and Fasting Rituals for the Auspicious Observance.

Another popular myth tells of the marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, which is believed to have occurred on Maha Shivaratri. This makes the festival especially meaningful for married couples and women seeking a prosperous union.

    Maha Shivaratri Rituals

The celebration of Maha Shivaratri begins early in the morning, as devotees wake up before sunrise to take a bath, don new clothes, and prepare for the day’s rituals. The Maha Shivaratri Puja involves various offerings and rituals, with women playing a crucial role in the ceremonies. Devotees offer water, milk, Bel leaves, and fruits like Ber (jujube), and burn incense sticks while performing circumambulations around the Shiva Lingam—either three or seven rounds. This act symbolizes devotion and respect for Lord Shiva.

The Maha Shivaratri Puja is structured around six essential offerings, each carrying a deep spiritual meaning:

    • Water and Milk Bathing the Shiva Lingam: This purifies the soul.
    • Vermilion Application: Symbolising virtue and purity.
    • Offering Fruits: Representing the fulfilment of desires and the wish for longevity.
    • Burning Incense Sticks: Emblematic of the acquisition of wealth and prosperity.
    • Betel Leaves: Signifying contentment and the satisfaction of worldly desires.
    • Lighting Lamps: Symbolising the attainment of wisdom and enlightenment.

Maha Shivaratri is not just a celebration but a profound spiritual experience that draws devotees closer to the divine presence of Lord Shiva. Whether through fasting, chanting, or performing sacred rituals, the night signifies devotion, purity, and the worship of the supreme god who represents the ultimate truth.

Giants great Lawrence Taylor reveals what kept him from quitting football before Hall of Fame career began

Lawrence Taylor, one of the top defensive players in NFL history, almost quit football in high school.

But his dad wouldn’t let him.

Taylor, 66, talked about nearly quitting football during an appearance on OutKick’s “Maintaining with Tyrus.”

“I thought it was too much. Like I said, when I went out for football in my junior year, I wanted to quit. And … my dad looked at me, ‘You’re not going to quit,’” Taylor recalled.

“And then once I started to get it a little bit, he told me, ‘Hey, you got to be better than the next man just to be equals.’ So, listen, I’m going after who’s ever in front of me, that’s who I have to deal with.”

The Pro Football Hall of Famer did a good job in his 13-year career of dealing with the person in front of him. Taylor spent his entire career with the New York Giants, winning two Super Bowls.

Taylor won the NFL MVP in 1986, becoming one of only two defensive players in NFL history to win the MVP.

In that 1986 season, Taylor had 20½ sacks. For Taylor, his goal was simple — find the football.

“I think a lot of coaches, or my coaches anyway, allowed me to play the game the way I saw it. (People say) you got to get here, you got to go there. Well, no. I got to go outside here, but I’m trying to get to here. So, why can’t I just go there? I go to the football wherever it is. I go to the football,” Taylor said.

  • LARRY KUDLOW: Sheriff Pam Bondi is making New York great again

LARRY KUDLOW: Sheriff Pam Bondi is making New York great again

After just a couple of days of being sworn in as Attorney General, Pam Bondi is laying the law down, especially on illegal immigration. And especially on illegal immigration in New York.

All New Yorkers — in the city, the suburbs, and upstate — should be cheering her on for making the Empire State a safer and more decent place to live.

Here’s what she had to say:

This is a new DOJ, and we are taking steps to protect Americans, American citizens, and angel moms… New York has chosen to prioritize illegal aliens over American citizens. It stops. It stops today – as you know, we sued Illinois, and New York didn’t listen. So now, you’re next.

    – Attorney General Pam Bondi, February 12

And our new Sheriff Bondi is going after something called New York’s Green Light Law, which allows illegal immigrants to get drivers licenses and stops the Department of Motor Vehicles from telling ICE.

So, Bondi sued all the New York Trump Derangement Syndrome operatives, including so-called Attorney General Letitia James and so-called Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

And, just for the heck of it, Bondi threw in the DMV commissioner, who no one has ever even heard of.

The point here is that the new Trump Justice Department is busting through sanctuary cities and states, left and right. Bondi has already hit Illinois, and now she’s hitting New York.

And, of course, the far-left James-Bragg left-wing Soviet-like cabal deserves everything they get for their attempted weaponization jihad against President Donald Trump, where they tried to throw him in jail for 700 years, take all his businesses away, and bankrupt him.

All of that was one of the greatest miscarriages of justice in history.

Whether or not AG Bondi had that in mind we’ll never know, but bravo to her for correctly arguing that federal law supersedes state and local law. And giving Tom Homan and his ICE brigade the right to capture and deport the murderers and rapists who have broken the law.

There’s no escape for them under the new Trump-appointed sheriffs. And these local yokel New York officials can whine as much as they want, but the voters’ tide has turned against them.

And then we come to the case of Mayor Eric Adams, whose biggest crime during the Biden years was to begin cooperating with federal officials to stop the flood of illegals coming into the Red Apple. So the Bidens weaponized the legal system against him.

A phony indictment from Biden’s Justice Department tried to lay him out, basically for doing nothing more than taking a couple of first-class airplane seat upgrades and helping a foreign embassy get a faster repair job.

The Trump-Bondi Justice Department dropped the indictment against Mayor Adams. And now you have a couple of Assistant U.S. Attorneys screaming like banshees, with highly visible resignation letters that no one really cares about.

Left-wing news outlets are telling us how brilliant these former prosecutors are, but, if so, they’re only book-smart or pedigree-smart.

They are not street-smart, with no common sense at all, because Adams is cooperating with Bondi and Homan to get the illegals out of New York and make New York safe again, even reopening ICE facilities on Rikers Island.

You could say the new Trump sheriffs are now weaponizing justice in favor of Mayor Adams — but so that he can fight migrant crime and get rid of illegals.

I’m calling this good weaponization. High moral ground weaponization. Law and order, safety weaponization.

And because of his good works, Democratic Mayor Eric Adams is being mentioned as a possible Republican Mayor Eric Adams.

Stay tuned for more on that.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a page from President Donald Trump’s playbook during a joint press conference Thursday, saying he wants to make India great again, or “MIGA.”

Modi met with Trump at the White House, where the world leaders discussed a range of issues, including trade, the economic relationship between India and the United States and military sales.

During a press conference, Modi said Indian people were focusing on their heritage and ways to ensure his nation is developed by 2047.

“Borrowing an expression from America, our vision for a developed India is to make India great again, or MIGA,” he said through a translator. “When America and India work together, that is, when it’s MAGA plus MIGA, it becomes a mega partnership for prosperity.

At the beginning of the press conference, Trump announced the United States would be providing India F-35 fighter jets and increasing military sales to the country by billions of dollars.

Trump also said his administration approved the extradition of Tahawwur Rana, a Canadian citizen of Pakistani origin, one of the plotters of a deadly 2008 terrorist attack that killed 160 people.

“I’m pleased to announce that my administration has approved the extradition of one of the plotters and one of the very evil people of the world having to do with the horrific 2008 Mumbai terrorist attack to face justice in India,” Trump said.

In addition, Modi said India would accept illegal Indian immigrants in the United States who are deported back home.

  • ‘Make NATO great again’: Hegseth pushes European allies to step up defense efforts

‘Make NATO great again’: Hegseth pushes European allies to step up defense efforts

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said that as the U.S. aims to “revive the warrior ethos,” European members of NATO also should follow suit and bolster defense efforts.

“NATO should pursue these goals as well,” Hegseth told NATO members in Brussels on Thursday. “NATO is a great alliance, the most successful defense alliance in history, but to endure for the future, our partners must do far more for Europe’s defense.”

“We must make NATO great again,” he said.

As of 2023, the U.S. spent 3.3% of its GDP on defense spending — totaling $880 billion, according to the nonpartisan Washington, D.C.-based Peterson Institute for International Economics. More than 50% of NATO funding comes from the U.S., while other allies, like the United Kingdom, France and Germany, have contributed between 4% and 8% to NATO funding in recent years.

Hegseth urged European allies to bolster defense spending from 2% to 5% of gross domestic product, as President Donald Trump has long advocated.

NATO comprises more than 30 countries and was originally formed in 1949 to halt the spread of the Soviet Union.

Hegseth pointed to former President Dwight D. Eisenhower, who advocated for a strong relationship with European allies. But he noted that eventually Eisenhower felt that the U.S. was bearing the burden of deploying U.S. troops to Europe in 1959, according to the State Department’s Office of the Historian. Eisenhower reportedly told two of his generals that the Europeans were “making a sucker out of Uncle Sam.”

Hegseth said that he and Trump share sentiments similar to Eisenhower’s.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said that as the U.S. aims to “revive the warrior ethos,” European members of NATO should follow suit and bolster defense efforts.  (Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images)

“This administration believes in alliances, deeply believes in alliances, but make no mistake, President Trump will not allow anyone to turn Uncle Sam into Uncle Sucker,” Hegseth said.

“We can talk all we want about values,” Hegseth said. “Values are important, but you can’t shoot values, you can’t shoot flags, and you can’t shoot strong speeches. There is no replacement for hard power. As much as we may not want to like the world we live in, in some cases, there’s nothing like hard power.”

Hegseth’s comments come as the Trump administration navigates negotiations with Russia and Ukraine to end the conflict between the two countries. On Wednesday, Trump called both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent traveled to Kyiv.

Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are slated to meet with Zelenskyy Friday at the Munich Security Conference.

Meanwhile, the Trump administration has come under scrutiny for the negotiations, fielding criticism that Ukraine is being pressured to give in to concessions after Hegseth said on Wednesday that it isn’t realistic for Ukraine to regain its pre-war borders with Russia.

“Putin is gonna pocket this and ask for more,” Brett Bruen, director of global engagement under former President Barack Obama, told Fox News Digital.

Michael McFaul, ambassador to Russia under the Obama administration, also shared concerns in a social media post on X on Wednesday, claiming that Trump was delivering Russia a “gift.”

But Hegseth said he rejected similar accusations.

“Any suggestion that President Trump is doing anything other than negotiating from a position of strength is, on its face, ahistorical and false,” Hegseth said Thursday.

Cowboys great Emmitt Smith questions team’s direction under Jerry Jones amid Brian Schottenheimer’s promotion

Last month, the Dallas Cowboys announced that Brian Schottenheimer would be promoted from offensive coordinator to head coach. The decision came after the Cowboys and Mike McCarthy failed to reach an agreement on a contract extension.

Schottenheimer’s promotion has been met with some tepid reactions from fans and even some of the Cowboys’ former star players. Emmitt Smith is the latest franchise great to express displeasure with longtime team owner Jerry Jones’ decision to enter the 2025 season with Schottenheimer at the helm.

Smith, who spent the majority of his Hall of Fame career with the Cowboys, suggested he would take a patient approach to Schottenheimer’s coaching tenure in Dallas.

“I’m going to reserve most of my comments for a later date, but right now I’m just soaking it in,” Smith told Sports Lens late last month. “What has happened and trying to analyze where we go from here and what it is going to look like. All that talk about having a running back and a running game – there’s nothing wrong with our running game when there’s a commitment to the running game.… I think we’ve gotten so far away from what we all know as the Cowboys’ great teams. Jones contacted former Cowboys star and current Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders during the hiring process. Jones later characterized his interaction with Sanders as more of a conversation with someone he had a personal relationship with rather than a formal job interview.

Smith said passing over Sanders left him feeling disappointed. “It is kind of disappointing that, from an opportunity standpoint, he wasn’t considered high enough to do it,” he said. “But like I said, some things have to play themselves out.”

Michael Irvin, who won three Super Bowls during his storied career with the Cowboys, has also expressed his displeasure with Jones deciding not to move forward with Sanders as the team’s coach.

The Cowboys finished the 2024 season with a 7-10 record. Quarterback Dak Prescott missed nine games due to a hamstring injury.
