Maxx Crosby excited for Raiders’ future with Pete Carroll, whose impact is being felt: ‘My type of person’

NEW ORLEANS – Maxx Crosby is an optimist, and with Pete Carroll on board as the Las Vegas Raiders’ new head coach, the defensive end couldn’t be more excited about the future.

The star edge rusher spoke to Fox News Digital on Radio Row in New Orleans ahead of Super Bowl LIX, and while he enjoys his time among his peers, he also wants to be playing in the “Big Game” one day.

Carroll has lifted the Lombardi Trophy once as a head coach in the NFL, while with the Seattle Seahawks, and also won two national championships during his time coaching in college.

That championship pedigree is what Crosby believes the Raiders need right now.

“I think it’s pretty straightforward: He’s done it. He’s done it many times at both levels, college and the NFL,” Crosby said when asked why Carroll was the right man for the Raiders’ head coaching gig, while also promoting his partnership with SAXX Underwear on Radio Row.

“For me, I’m an optimistic person. I want to be a winner, I want a chance to win. From everything I’ve seen so far, it’s been encouraging. So — taking it one step at a time and we’ll see how everything plays out. But I’m excited for the future, for sure.”

Carroll’s impact within the Raiders organization has already been felt by Crosby, too, and it’s that patented energy he brings every day that’s “infectious.”

“Every conversation I’ve had with him has been awesome,” Crosby said. “All energy all the time, my type of person. At the end of the day, you’ve got to have fun with what we do, you know what I mean? We’re modern-day gladiators. We’re going out there — car crashes every single Sunday. That’s the reality. So, you have to have fun with it. The work comes first, but at the same time, you’ve got to enjoy your job. You’ve got to be excited to come into the building every morning and go to work.

“I think he does an incredible job doing that. I’ve yet to experience that yet, but just being around him for a couple weeks now, the dude doesn’t stop.”

Crosby offered an example of how much fun Carroll is having being back inside an NFL building.

“It’s about team, it’s about culture, it’s about competing,” he began. “That’s what he preaches and lives by. I’ve been able to see it at a short glimpse so far, but it’s just funny. You hear guys, I’m talking to one of the front office guys, and he’s like, ‘Yeah, I have this JBL speaker — [Carroll] gave everyone a speaker. I go upstairs and it sounds like a frat house is going on.’ There’s music bumping all the time and stuff. I love that. That’s how I am.

“I think it’s necessary. Energy’s got to be right and correct, and I feel like that leads to success when the work is behind it. He’s proven it his whole life that he can win and knows how to win. It’s exciting.”

Matthew Stafford’s wife sounds off on Rams amid speculation about quarterback’s future, Cooper Kupp trade news

Uncertainty and an apparent lack of appreciation in Los Angeles have Kelly Stafford, the wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, apparently open to the idea of moving on.

During the latest episode of her podcast “The Morning After,” Kelly sounded off on the speculation surrounding her husband and the recent news that the Rams have allegedly expressed their intentions to trade veteran wide receiver Cooper Kupp this offseason.

Kupp announced Monday on social media that he was informed by the organization that they “will be seeking a trade immediately and will be working with me and my family to find the right place to continue competing for championships.”

Kupp expressed that the move was not one he agreed with.

“I don’t agree with the decision and always believed it was going to begin and end in LA,” his post read. “Still, if there’s one thing that I have learned over the years: there are so many things that are out of your control, but it is how you respond to these things that you will look back on and remember.”

Stafford’s future also remains a question this offseason.

After losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in the playoffs, he said he would “take some time” to decide his plan for next season, but also indicated he feels like he can still play.

But since those remarks were made, his wife Kelly seemed to suggest tensions between the Rams and Stafford have been on the rise.

“I love the life that we have built here. With that being said, I love an adventure. I am all for it. Right now, if the Rams decided that they wanted to trade [Stafford], or Matthew decided he didn’t want to play for the Rams, I’m good,” she shared.

Kelly said “the ball is not really in our court” regarding that decision.

“I value being respected and wanted over convenience. So it would be very convenient to stay. Right? Very easy. But if someone doesn’t feel valued, then I’m like ‘Let’s hit the road. Let’s go on an adventure,’” she explained.

“Do we want to be in L.A.? Yeah, but a lot has to happen,” she continued. “My husband wants to win. He’s not trying to put a team in a bad situation. If you’re catching my drift, you’re catching my drift. He wants to win, he’s at the end of his career – wants to win. But there has to be a slight feeling of being valued and respected.”

Kelly was also put off by Kupp’s announcement. She said she was “confused” by the trade rumors after the Rams fell short of the NFC Championship game this season.

“I will say the trading away of Cooper – I guess I’m just a little confused because we were one play away from going to the NFC Championship. And I think if we go, we win. Then you’re in the Super Bowl, and I think we have a chance against Kansas City,” she said.

“One play away, and all of a sudden in the offseason, you’re talking about trading your veteran wide receiver, who has been a pillar in this place… and there’s now talk about trading your quarterback away. I don’t get it, it confuses me.”

CDC staff told to remove terms like ‘Non-binary,’ ‘They/Them’ from future research

Researchers at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have been told to remove words frequently associated with progressive gender ideology from research manuscripts that they intend to publish.

A screenshot of a leaked internal email sent out to CDC staff, obtained by the newsletter Inside Medicine, showed a list of terms and phrases that must be removed from scientific manuscripts produced by the agency’s researchers and intended for publication.

Those terms included: “gender,” “transgender,” “pregnant person,” “pregnant people,” “LGBT,” “transsexual,” “non-binary,” “nonbinary,” “assigned male at birth,” “assigned female at birth,” “biologically male” and “biologically female.” According to the Washington Post, the list includes about 20 terms. They indicated that the directive also ordered the removal of any use of “they/them.”

The rule affects manuscripts under review, as well as those accepted but not yet published, no matter whether they are intended for internal circulation only or circulation outside the CDC.

A CDC spokesperson told Fox News Digital that “All changes to HHS and HHS division websites/manuscripts are in accordance with President Trump’s January 20 Executive Orders.”

After taking office last month, President Donald Trump signed a slew of Day One executive orders, including one that attempts to root out “gender ideology extremism” and restore “biological truth” to the federal government. Meanwhile, in line with that order, the Trump administration’s Office of Personnel Management issued a memo a little over a week later calling on all federal agencies to “take prompt actions to end all agency programs that use taxpayer money to promote or reflect gender ideology.”

In addition to the terms, CDC web pages titled “Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth | Adolescent and School Health” and “April 18 is National Transgender HIV Testing Day” have also been removed.

The removal of the terms may make it hard to read surveys and research that utilizes them as demographic identifiers, The Post reported.

“If you are trying to optimize society, you can’t just pretend some people aren’t in it,” executive director of the National LGBTQI+ Cancer Network, Scout, who legally goes by only one name, told The Post.

Netanyahu: ‘No future’ in Gaza unless ‘Hamas destroyed’ amid concern for hostages

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday warned that the only way Gaza can see a peaceful future is if Hamas is “destroyed,” though the tough rhetoric out of Washington this week has hostage families, and at least one former hostage, concerned that it could jeopardize the safe return of the hostages still held by the terrorist group.

“I was deeply moved by the reception that we got, the substantive things that we discussed, making sure that Iran never gets a nuclear weapon, and also making sure that Hamas is destroyed,” Netanyahu said in reference to his meetings with President Trump and lawmakers on the Hill. “We’re not going to have a future for Gaza or for a future for peace in our part of the world if Hamas remains there.”

Netanyahu’s comments came just three days after Trump sent geopolitical shockwaves by announcing his supposed plans for the U.S. to “take over” the Gaza Strip and called for the mass removal of millions of Palestinians living there.

Netanyahu, who spoke alongside House Speaker Mike Johnson from the U.S. Capitol and championed their “warm personal bond,” did not take any questions from the press.

Hamas, along with dozens of other nations in the Middle East and across the globe, not only rejected the plans but on Friday delayed the release of names for the next round of hostages set to be freed on Saturday under the agreements of the ceasefire deal.

Following an hours-long delay, Hamas on Friday said it would release Eli Sharabi, 52, Or Levy, 34, and Ohad Ben Ami, 56, the Times of Israel reported.

Sharabi was taken from Kibbutz Beeri while his wife and daughters were killed in their safe room. Levy was taken from the Supernova music festival where his wife was killed. Ami was taken alongside his wife from Kibbutz Beeri, and his wife Raz Ben Ami was freed in the November 2023 hostage deal.

The delay came as reports suggested that families of the hostages still held in Gaza, as well as mediators involved in the ceasefire talks, have grown concerned the comments coming from the Trump-Netanyahu meeting could derail the continued release of hostages.

Just 13 of the 33 hostages slated to be released during the first phase of the ceasefire have been freed.

At least eight of the hostages scheduled to be returned during the first 42 days were confirmed by the IDF to have been killed while in Hamas activity, though the fates of Shiri Bibas and her two children, Ariel who was four years old when he was abducted alongside his brother Kfir, who was nine months old, remain unknown despite claims by Hamas that they were killed by an Israeli airstrike.

At least nine hostages are still believed to be alive who are scheduled to be released in the first round, while the release of the remaining 65 hostages, at least 26 of whom are believed to also have been killed, will be negotiated for release following the initial 42-day period.

Reports have indicated that officials are still set to travel to Qatar on Saturday to begin negotiations for the second phase of the ceasefire – a process that was delayed one week.

A spokesman for Netanyahu on Friday said that the prime minister views Hamas’ delay in releasing the names of the hostages intended to be released on Saturday as “serious” and a “violation” of the ceasefire agreement.

The prime minister’s office confirmed to Fox News Digital that he will be monitoring the fifth hostage release scheduled for Saturday from Washington, D.C., where he will remain through the weekend.

Reports this week suggested that Netanyahu had presented Trump with a plan to end the war in Gaza in exchange for assurances from Hamas that it would relinquish its power in the war-torn region and that its leaders would go into exile.

Netanyahu’s office denied these claims to Fox News Digital.

House passes bill blocking future presidents from banning oil drilling without Congress’ approval

The Republican-led House passed legislation to block future administrations from enacting bans on oil and gas drilling without congressional approval.

In a vote on Friday, lawmakers passed the “Protecting American Energy Production Act” to prohibit the president from “declaring a moratorium on the use of hydraulic fracturing unless Congress authorizes the moratorium.”

There were 118 Democrats who voted against the legislation, while Republican House members unanimously voted in favor of its passage.

The bill comes after former President Joe Biden enacted several regulations on oil and gas during his term, including banning future oil and gas drilling along 625 million acres of coastal and offshore waters just weeks before he left office.

Harris dodges questions about political future, possible run for California governor

Former Vice President Kamala Harris is not giving any hints about her political future, despite speculation of a possible California gubernatorial bid in 2026.

Harris has mostly kept quiet since leaving Washington, D.C., last month after President Donald Trump’s inauguration, aside from a Jan. 20 visit to Altadena, California, to tour the Eaton wildfire damage.

On Thursday, the former vice president toured areas damaged by the Palisades Fire and spoke with displaced residents at a Red Cross shelter. When addressing reporters that same day, Harris made it clear that she is not ready to announce her next move just yet.

“I have been home for two weeks and three days,” Harris said. “My plans are to be in touch with my community, to be in touch with the leaders and figure out what I can do to support them.”

While the former vice president has not commented on President Donald Trump’s response to the California wildfires, a Harris advisor told Fox 11 that the two former rivals have spoken multiple times behind the scenes.

After the Pacific Palisades visit, Harris and former second gentleman Doug Emhoff were spotted at the Los Angeles Lakers-Golden State Warriors NBA game at LA’s Crypto.com Arena on Thursday.

Political insiders and Americans alike have speculated on Harris’ next moves after her crushing loss to Trump in November. During a desk drawer signing ceremony — a decadeslong tradition — Harris told staff that she would not “go quietly into the night,” and that their “work is not done.”

Late last month, New York Magazine reported that Harris was seeking advice from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who also lost to Trump during her own White House bid.

Amid speculation about a possible gubernatorial run, there are also those who wonder if Harris will try for the White House again. In 2019, Harris launched her first presidential bid, which ended with her in the number two slot alongside Biden.

Harris’ second presidential bid had an unusual start after Biden ended his re-election campaign in July 2024 and immediately endorsed his vice president. Harris’ campaign ended in a crushing defeat, as Trump won both the Electoral College and popular votes.

NEW ORLEANS – As a rookie, New York Giants wide receiver Jalin Hyatt experienced a subpar season after the team had just come off a run that involved the team’s first playoff win since they won Super Bowl XLVI.

What transpired this past regular season was even worse.

A 3-14 record befell the Giants, who cut ties with their quarterback, Daniel Jones, who was signed to a four-year, $160 million contract extension in the prior offseason.

Meanwhile, Saquon Barkley, who the Giants slapped with a franchise tag instead of extending, chose the Philadelphia Eagles in free agency this past offseason and led the league in rushing, while helping his team reach Super Bowl LIX this week.

So Hyatt, making his way down to New Orleans to represent World of Hyatt on Radio Row, knows 2024 was a year not to write home about. However, he had nothing but an optimistic view going into next year.

“Obviously, not what we want as a team, but I think for us, we’ve just got to keep building,” he told Fox News Digital. “We have great players on our team, and hopefully we can bring in the right guys next year to help us win. I have full faith in this team, so we’ll see what we can do.”

Hyatt knows the only way forward after a bad season is to take that first step in the right direction.

Personally, he’s coming off a down year after showing flashes in his rookie campaign. With the Giants struggling heavily on offense, Hyatt’s role diminished, especially with the emergence of first-round pick Malik Nabers added to the mix of receiver talent. Hyatt played only 33% of offensive snaps in 2024 compared to 51% in his rookie year.

Hyatt will be heading to Dallas after his appearance in the Big Easy to begin his offseason training with the idea of competing for a top receiver position in year 3 with New York.

“Knowing that I’m going to play on the outside more than I thought, I gotta continue to keep getting stronger,” he said about his goals for the offseason. “For me, it’s just keep developing – working on catches, working on routes, working on things I know I need to work on and be ready for next year.”

And moving on for the Giants also includes looking ahead to a new quarterback throwing him footballs. While there are free-agent options out there, the NFL Draft is where many believe the Giants, with the third overall pick, will try their luck again at a quarterback of the future.

Whoever that may be – Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Miami’s Cam Ward are the frontrunners at the quarterback position — Hyatt knows the characteristic trait he wants most in his new signal caller.

“Whoever comes in, I just want them to be a leader,” he said. “I want them to be a leader. I want them to understand when you come to the Giants, you have media you got to worry about – a lot of things that playing in New York you have to go through. Not only that, but say we’re losing, I want a quarterback to come in that knows how to be confident and comes in next game and has more confidence in himself.

“So, it’s going to be fun next year. I believe that we have the right guys in the room. We just got to add a couple more pieces and we’ll be all right.”

The Giants do have building blocks, with Nabers and fellow rookie running back Tyrone Tracy at the forefront on offense. But Hyatt also discussed that last part: having the right guys in the locker room to lead the way along with the coaching staff led by Brian Daboll heading into what many consider to be a make-or-break fourth season at the helm.

“I just say that because of how we fought, even with the losing season that we had,” Hyatt said in regard to senior leadership. “Obviously, we didn’t win a lot of games and had a lot of losses back-to-back. Just seeing that team coming into practice, practicing like we’re undefeated, practicing like we want to win. Just seeing the guys still going out there showing effort in Weeks 16, 17 and 18 shows, I can just tell, the senior leadership in that room.

How Whoosh works

The Whoosh system combines the best aspects of ride-sharing and public transport. Users can book a pod through an app, much like calling an Uber. The pod will be waiting at a nearby station, ready to whisk you away to your destination. These stations are designed with minimal footprint, fitting into a standard car park space and featuring a spiral ramp up to the network height of about 40 feet above the ground. Larger stations can be built at ground level, offering easy access for passengers.

The network itself consists of tensioned cables spanning 500-985 feet, interspersed with shorter sections of steel rail for smooth turns and junctions. This design allows Whoosh to overcome geographical obstacles with ease, crossing rivers, highways or even connecting rooftops.

Whoosh pods are expected to achieve an average speed of 25 mph across the network. This is achieved through constant motion and low rolling resistance, making Whoosh about twice as efficient as a small electric car. Comfort hasn’t been overlooked either. Peyton Manning’s son impresses NFL stars at Pro Bowl Games: ‘The future’

The NFL’s most famous football family is poised to expand its footprint in the professional ranks when Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning finally declares for the draft.

And there appears to be another Manning waiting in the wings after Arch – Peyton’s son, Marshall. The younger Manning was seen throwing the football around to some NFL stars while they were at the Pro Bowl Games.

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor described him as “the future” in a video posted to the Colts’ social media account. Manning threw passes into the end zone to Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase among others who were gathered in Orlando, Florida, for the game.

“Marshall Manning, man, the future right here,” he said. “You are all seeing it at the 2025 NFL Pro Bowl Games. The future’s right here.”

Arch is the son of Peyton’s older brother Cooper, making him and Marshall cousins.

Peyton and Cooper are the sons of Archie Manning, the former New Orleans Saints quarterback. He played about 11 years for the Saints as well as the Houston Oilers and Minnesota Vikings. His three sons, including Eli, all played football in some capacity.

Cooper was never able to play pro football, but Peyton and Eli both starred in the NFL. Each won two Super Bowl titles before they retired.

Aaron Rodgers’ ex teammate thinks QB ‘can still get it done’ with NFL future in question

Aaron Rodgers’ future is in limbo, but the second half of his 2024 campaign may just keep him around.

The New York Jets arguably had their most disappointing season in franchise history, as they were just 5-12 despite playoff expectations and Super Bowl hopes.

Rodgers missed just about the entire 2023 season after rupturing his Achilles on just his fourth snap as a Jet. This season, he sure looked like a 40-year-old quarterback coming off a major injury.

At times, however, mostly in the second half, he turned back the clock, and Clay Matthews, who won Super Bowl XLV with Rodgers, thinks Rodgers can create some magic with new guys in charge.

“I’d love to see him come back. I tuned into the Jets more than ever this year to see what he was able to do,” Matthews told Fox News Digital in a recent interview. “Obviously, there was a lot of excitement, and with the playmakers they had, the trade for Davante Adams. Being an armchair quarterback, you look at ownership, GM is fired, head coach is fired, but you wonder if he’s a part of it. I’d love to see him play as a fan.

New head coach Aaron Glenn said in his introductory press conference that Rodgers will be discussed with new general manager, Darren Mougey. Gang Green has the seventh selection in the draft, so it is not exactly prime time for a quarterback, considering it is considered a weak class.
