Ryan Preece was thinking about what really matters in life, as his No. 60 car was airborne with just five laps to go in the 67th running of the Daytona 500 on Sunday night.

Preece was in the middle of the pack when a wreck at the top of the race impacted him in the worst way, with Christopher Bell’s No. 20 car smashing into him, causing his vehicle to fly through the Florida night.

When Preece’s car touched the track again, it was flipped upside down, still traveling at a high rate of speed before ultimately getting back to normal and slamming into the wall.

Thankfully, Preece walked out of the wreck unscathed, though there was a moment while he was in the air that he started to think about family, specifically his daughter, Rebecca Marie.

“Yeah, I don’t know if it’s the diffuser or what that makes these cars like a sheet of plywood when you walk out on a windy day,” Preece told FOX Sports in an interview after getting off the track.

“But, when the car took off like that, and it got real quiet, all I thought about was my daughter. So, I’m lucky to walk away.”

Multiple angles of the wreck showed just how scary the wreck was, including a look from the No. 43 car of Erik Jones, who was involved in the spin-outs as well.

WILLIAM BYRON CAPTURES 2ND STRAIGHT DAYTONA 500 VICTORY IN OVERTIME LAP THRILLER

From Jones’ vantage point, Bell’s car coming off the right wall came out of nowhere, and Preece got all of it.

The front of the vehicle immediately lifted into the air, and like Preece said, the windy conditions – two delays came in this race from inclement weather – made the car lift off the track altogether.

This is the second time in Preece’s career he has flipped at Daytona, so while he has experienced this before, it is never a good feeling to have to go through that.

Preece was reflective with Frontstretch after the race as well, adding that “something needs to be done” with the cars because they should not be lifting off the course like he did.

“The one thing I want to say as a father, as a racer, is we keep beating on a door hoping for a different result. We know where there’s a problem at Superspeedways. So, I don’t want to be the example of when it finally gets somebody – I don’t want it to be me. I got a two-year-old daughter, and just like a lot of us, we have families.

Former Hamas hostage Daniella Gilboa was apparently forced to fake her own death for a propaganda video. In an interview with Israel’s Channel 12, Orly Gilboa, Daniella’s mother, detailed the horrifying ordeal.

“One of the captors just came to her with a camera and said, ‘Daniella, today we’re going to film you dead.’  She of course pleaded for her life and asked him not to do it,” Orly Gilboa told Channel 12. Gilboa also said that her daughter was covered in debris and powder to make it seem like she was killed in an Israeli airstrike.

In November 2024, Hamas claimed that Gilboa was killed in an Israeli airstrike, producing the video of her “dead body” as proof. However, Gilboa was in fact alive and was released from captivity on Jan. 25, 2025, alongside Liri Albag, Naama Levy and Karina Ariev.

Following Hamas’ release of the video, the IDF said in a statement that it was investigating the situation. The IDF also condemned the release of the video, saying “Hamas continues to engage in psychological terror and act with extreme brutality.”

Hamas made videos of multiple hostages, including Yarden Bibas, whose wife and two young sons were also kidnapped on Oct. 7, 2023. Bibas is seen in the Hamas video, which was released in November 2023, breaking down as he is told that his family was killed. The fate of Bibas’ wife, Shiri, and their sons, Ariel and Kfir, remains unknown.

Gilboa, Albag, Levy and Ariev were kidnapped by Hamas terrorists from an IDF base in southern Israel during the attacks on Oct. 7, 2023. Agam Berger, who was taken hostage with the other female soldiers, was held for an extra week alone. She was released from Hamas captivity on Jan. 30, 2025.

HAMAS SAYS IT WILL FREE MORE ISRAELI HOSTAGES ON SATURDAY AS ORIGINALLY PLANNED

On the day she was taken hostage, Gilboa was shot in the leg, but the bullet was not removed during her time in captivity.

In an exclusive interview with Ynet, Ran Gilboa, Daniela’s father, called his daughter “a hero who returned from hell.” He also revealed that for two days after his daughter’s kidnapping, his family did not know if she was alive or dead.

“Their captors gave them more food in the days leading up to their release. They were only told they would be freed three days before it happened,” Ran Gilboa told Ynet.

Israelis were stunned by the condition of three hostages released last week, Or Levy, Eli Sharabi, and Ohad Ben Ami, as the men appeared emaciated. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised that this “would not be ignored.” Additionally, Israeli President Isaac Herzog said that the “emaciated and pained” men were a visual representation of a “crime against humanity.”

ISRAELI CABINET BACKS TRUMP’S DEMAND FOR HAMAS TO RELEASE ALL HOSTAGES BY SATURDAY DEADLINE

Hamas and Israel were engaged in a ceasefire. However, the terrorist organization threatened to stop hostage releases. President Donald Trump then gave Hamas a deadline of Saturday, Feb. 15, at 12 p.m. to release the remaining hostages.

“If all the Gaza hostages aren’t returned by Saturday at 12 p.m., I would say cancel the ceasefire,” Trump said in the Oval Office. “Let all hell break out. Israel can override it.”

Trump stressed that Hamas needs to release “all of them, not in drips and drabs.”

Israel’s security cabinet backed President Trump’s threat, and Prime Minister Netanyahu said in a statement that if the hostages are not released by the deadline, they “will resume intense combat until Hamas is decisively defeated.”

On Thursday, Hamas announced it would free three more Israeli hostages as originally planned, according to the Associated Press.

  • Tim Walz’s daughter rants against Trump’s transgender athlete executive order

Tim Walz’s daughter rants against Trump’s transgender athlete executive order

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s daughter, Hope Walz, went viral this week for a series of TikToks criticizing President Donald Trump’s executive order banning transgender athletes from women’s and girls’ sports.

Walz posted her first video about the issue Saturday, when she called the order “a dangerous precedent.”

“It is dangerous for the trans community, women, minorities, anyone who is not a straight white man,” she said in the video. “We are talking about human beings, and the president of the United States is targeting them because he thinks it will gain him political points or whatever.”

She suggested the issue of trans athletes in women’s and girls sports “is not real.”

“I have never felt unsafe around a trans person. I have felt unsafe around men. So, maybe let’s deal with that,” she said.

Walz posted a follow-up TikTok addressing the issue Wednesday. In that video, she suggested Trump’s Cabinet members have “allegations.” She also made claims that more of Trump’s 15 Cabinet members have “credible allegations” than there are trans athletes in high school sports. Walz did not clarify which members or which allegations she was referring to.

“Transphobia and transphobes are so crazy to me because, like, the whole argument is, ‘Oh, we’re protecting women. We need to protect women.’ But then they turn around and vote for a literal felon, who, he himself as well as many of the people closest to him have credible allegations,” she said. “Like, the amount of people with credible allegations in the Cabinet is more than trans kids trying to play high school sports.”

HOW TRANSGENDERISM IN SPORTS SHIFTED THE 2024 ELECTION AND IGNITED A NATIONAL COUNTERCULTURE

However, the United Nations released study findings saying that nearly 900 biological females have fallen short of victories because they have been defeated by transgender athletes.

The study, “Violence against women and girls in sports,” said more than 600 athletes did not medal in more than 400 competitions in 29 different sports, totaling over 890 medals, according to information obtained up to March 30.

“The replacement of the female sports category with a mixed-sex category has resulted in an increasing number of female athletes losing opportunities, including medals, when competing against males,” the report said.

Tim Walz was a vocal advocate for transgender and LGBTQ+ rights as Kamala Harris’ running mate in the 2024 election.

The issue of transgender athletes competing with girls and women proved to be an issue that affected the outcome of an election in which Harris and Walz lost in a landslide.

Shortly after November’s election, a national exit poll conducted by the Concerned Women for America legislative action committee found that 70% of moderate voters saw the issue of “Donald Trump’s opposition to transgender boys and men playing girls’ and women’s sports and of transgender boys and men using girls’ and women’s bathrooms” as important to them.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

And 6% said it was the most important issue of all, while 44% said it was “very important.”

A recent New York Times/Ipsos survey found the vast majority of Americans, including a majority of Democrats, don’t think transgender athletes should be permitted to compete in women’s sports. Of the 2,128 people polled, 79% said biological males who identify as women should not be allowed to participate in women’s sports.

Of the 1,025 people who identified as Democrats or leaning Democrat, 67% said transgender athletes should not be allowed to compete with women.

Walz’s home state of Minnesota is one of the states that has refused to comply with Trump’s executive order.

The Minnesota State High School League announced Thursday it will continue to allow transgender athletes to compete against girls despite Trump’s executive order to ban them from doing so.

The Minnesota organization said in an email to member schools that participation by, and eligibility of, transgender athletes is controlled by the Minnesota Human Rights Act, which includes protections for LGBTQ+ people, and the Minnesota Constitution.

“The Minnesota State High School League, similar to other youth sports organizations, is subject to state anti-discrimination laws, which prohibit discrimination based on gender identity,” the organization said in a statement. “Therefore, students in Minnesota are allowed to participate consistent with their gender identity.”

California is another state that has refused to comply with Trump’s order.

The decision by California not to comply with Trump’s order has prompted backlash and even protests and threats of lawsuits

Trump is set to attend Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, where he’ll watch Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs try to become the first team in history to win three straight Super Bowls.

Trump has expressed fondness for Mahomes and his wife in recent months.

A screenshot of Brittany’s Instagram account giving a like to Trump’s 2024 policy platform on Aug. 13 was shared across social media. She then posted several follow-up posts defending herself from the backlash she received for liking Trump’s post.

Trump then gave Brittany a shoutout on Truth Social days later.

After Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris on Sept. 10, Trump appeared on Fox News the next morning to say he liked Brittany much “much better” than Swift.

“I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better if you want to know the truth. She’s a big Trump fan.” Trump said on “Fox & Friends.” “I like Brittany. I think Brittany’s great.”

Massachusetts migrant shelter resident charged with impregnating his teen daughter

A Massachusetts migrant shelter resident has been arrested and is being charged with raping and impregnating his own teenage daughter while staying at a government-funded shelter.

The MetroWest Daily News reported that the man, who has not been identified by police to protect the identity of his daughter and victim, raped his daughter repeatedly, both during their journey to the U.S. and while in the country.

The immigrant was staying at a shelter run by Eliot Community Human Services, which operates two government-funded shelters at Holiday Inn and Extended Stay hotels in Marlborough, Massachusetts, in the Boston area.

According to The MetroWest Daily News, Marlborough Police arrested the immigrant last week, following reports of his crimes being filed by shelter staff in May 2024.

The outlet reported that the teen had sent text messages indicating she was pregnant “in the past by her father,” and that “her father had sex with her multiple times, both on the journey to the U.S. and in the U.S.”

The Marlborough District Court arraigned the immigrant on Monday, charging him with one count of aggravated rape of a child. District Judge Meghan Spring ordered him held without bail pending another hearing on Friday, which will determine if he is a danger to the public.

This comes after Jon Fetherson, a former director of the Marlborough migrant shelter, spoke out about what he said were incidents of widespread violence, child sexual assault and rape at shelters in the state.

This is not the first time a Massachusetts immigrant shelter has been used for illegal, criminal activity. Harrison Butker’s faith has rubbed off on Patrick Mahomes, teammates, Chiefs owner’s daughter says

Harrison Butker may have garnered criticism last year off the field, but according to Gracie Hunt, the daughter of the Kansas City Chiefs owner, his presence in the locker room is certainly felt.

Butker became a rather polarizing figure last offseason after he gave a faith-based commencement speech at Benedictine College and urged women to embrace the title of “homemaker.”

The controversial speech garnered much praise and backlash.

However, shortly after the speech, Butker’s jersey became one of the most popular on the NFL’s online shop.

Butker has not shied away from embracing his faith, and Hunt said that has rubbed off on his teammates, including Patrick Mahomes.

“Harrison is an amazing guy, and the most kind, genuine person. He is an awesome family man, they’re so sweet and precious. I think what’s been really cool to see this year, especially, is that it’s such a sense of iron sharpening iron,” Hunt told Riley Gaines on OutKick’s “Gaines for Girls” podcast..
