‘The White Lotus’ season three coming: Four Seasons resort in Thailand to get highlighted.

A stunning Four Seasons resort in Thailand is expected to make major appearances in HBO’s highly-anticipated third season of “The White Lotus.”

The show, directed by creator Mike White, used multiple spots around the Four Seasons Resort Koh Sumai as filming locations for the upcoming third season starring big names like Leslie Bibb, Walton Goggins, Michelle Monaghan and Patrick Schwarzenegger.

The Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui will provide the backdrop for the villas and rooms that some of the third-season’s characters will stay in, as well as for two restaurants, the pool, beach, gym and certain other facilities that they use at a fictional “White Lotus” resort in Thailand, according to a recent press release from Warners Bros. Discovery.

The show’s use of the Four Seasons Resort Koh Sumai will mark the third time that one of the hotel company’s properties has had a major presence in “The White Lotus.” The Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea in Hawaii and the San Domenico Palace, Taormina in Italy were heavily featured in its past seasons.

“Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui’s breathtaking natural beauty and rich cultural setting make it a perfect backdrop for the highly anticipated third season of The White Lotus,” Marc Speichert, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at Four Seasons, said in a statement to FOX Business.

“Following the first two seasons, we saw a surge in travel interest to Hawai’i and Italy, and we’re already experiencing a similar response for Thailand,” he added. “Interest in Koh Samui has been rising for over a year, with a sharp acceleration in the past four months – not just for our resort, but also for Four Seasons properties in Bangkok, Chiang Rai, and Chiang Mai.”

The Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui isn’t the only hotel slated to make appearances in season three of “The White Lotus.” Fans of the show also can expect to see parts of Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort, Anantara Mai Khao Phuket, Anantara Bophut Koh Samui and Rosewood Phuket, among others, per Warners Bros. Discovery.

  • NYSE coming to Texas coming as Lone Star State continues to attract businesses

NYSE coming to Texas coming as Lone Star State continues to attract businesses

Texas has in recent years become a significant home for companies looking to relocate, including the latest —  the New York Stock Exchange’s “fully electronic equities change” NYSE Texas in Dallas.

The NYSE revealed Wednesday that it plans to add operations in Dallas by reincorporating its NYSE Chicago as NYSE Texas in the Lone Star State, saying the “fully electronic equities exchange” will “provide public companies with a listing and trading venue centered within the vibrant economy of the southwestern U.S.” once it goes live in the future.

NYSE Group President Lynn Martin said the exchange is “delighted to expand our presence in the Lone Star State,” touting Texas as the state “with the largest number of NYSE listings” and a “market leader in fostering a pro-business atmosphere.”

NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE PLANS EXCHANGE IN ‘PRO-BUSINESS’ TEXAS

A report released last year by the Federal Reserve Bank for Dallas found a net of over 7,300 firms moved into Texas between 2010 and 2019, putting it among the top states for business relocations.

The state has notched more firms moving into it than out of it since 2000, the report also said.

University of Texas at Dallas Accounting Assistant Professor Kirti Sinha told FOX Business said “several factors” have drawn companies to the Lone Star State.

“The first is, of course, the taxes. There is no personal income tax and corporate income taxes in Texas in general,” she said. “Then, second, I think our regulatory environment is, I would say, much more relaxed compared to some other states.”

“We have lower disclosure or regulatory oversight compared to other states, and I think also the way, for example, the governor has been signalling ‘come here, make this your home, and I’m here for you,’ those kind of give signal to companies that whatever the situation in terms of regulations right now, it’s going to stay like this in the future,” Sinha added. “That kind of gives them confidence.”

The space that Texas has for manufacturing facilities and warehouses and its wage rates have also appealed to businesses, according to Sinha.

“Texas has been working for decades to establish itself as the best place in America to do business. With one of the fastest-growing populations in the country, the highest number of Tier 1 research universities of any state in the country, and a business and regulatory environment that make it easy for companies to succeed, Texas is unmatched as a place to do business,” Nate Sharp, the dean of the Mays Business School at Texas A&M, told FOX Business.

Among some of the big-name companies that moved their headquarters to Texas in recent years are Tesla, Fisher Investments and Hewlett Packard Enterprise.

Fisher Investments announced its move to the Lone Star State in 2023. The relocation was prompted by the Washington State Supreme Court upholding the state’s capital gains tax.

Hewlett Packard Enterprises in 2020 pointed to “opportunities for cost savings, and team members’ preferences about the future for work” for its own move to Texas.

In a more recent example, energy giant Chevron said in fall 2024 that it would be moving its headquarters to Texas from California. Andy Walz, Chevron’s president of America products, said California being a “tough place” to do business and “recruit people” played a part in its relocation decision, as well as the company looking to “drive better business outcomes.”

Sharp said the launch of NYSE Texas “will accelerate the growth of business” in the state and make it “even more attractive.”

Nasdaq, another major stock exchange, also has a presence in Texas, and the TXSE Group is working to set up the Texas Stock Exchange in the state as well, filing its Form 1 registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission late last month.

THESE ARE THE BEST FIVE STATES TO START A BUSINESS IN 2025

“The whole listing process has become very complicated over the years, and having a physical office helps them talk to these companies more directly and gives them direct access,” Sinha told FOX Business.

She also said exchanges being in Texas “gives signals to investors that they can trust the system here, and so I think it is a very self-fulfilling kind of cycle, like ‘oh so the companies were coming, the New York Stock Exchange came’ and then that will bring in more investors and more companies.”

New York Stock Exchange announces NYSE Texas coming to Dallas

New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Texas, “a fully electronic equities exchange,” is coming to Dallas.

The announcement came Wednesday, and stated the NYSE Chicago “will reincorporate in Texas and be renamed NYSE Texas,” providing companies with a new venue to list their securities.

Several high-profile firms, including Elon Musk’s Tesla, and SpaceX, have relocated their headquarters to Texas, attracted by the state’s perceived favorable legal and regulatory environment.

“As the state with the largest number of NYSE listings, representing over $3.7 trillion in market value for our community, Texas is a market leader in fostering a pro-business atmosphere,” Lynn Martin, president of NYSE Group, said in a statement.

“We are delighted to expand our presence in the Lone Star State, which plays a key role in driving our U.S. economy forward” Martin continued.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott met with NYSE leaders on Monday to discuss the launch, local FOX 4 reported.

“With the launch of NYSE Texas, we will expand our financial might in the United States and cement our great state as an economic powerhouse on the global stage,” Abbott said, according to FOX 4.

NCAA VP suggests changes are coming to trans athlete policy after Trump’s executive order is signed

With President Donald Trump set to sign an executive order banning trans athletes from girls’ and women’s sports on Wednesday, the NCAA is already bracing for a potential change to its current rules that allow trans athletes to compete with women.

Vice president of the NCAA’s Eligibility Center, Felicia Martin, spoke at a congressional briefing in Washington on Wednesday to celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day and suggested that the NCAA Board of Governors is already discussing potential policy changes after Trump’s executive order goes into effect.

SIGN UP FOR TUBI AND STREAM SUPER BOWL LIX FOR FREE

“We know that this is an issue and a national conversation happening around participation,” she said. “The Board of Governors is right now having conversations about what potential next steps night be, but this is absolutely one of those issues that is ongoing, but without a national standard that can be applied across the board, all of us are making decisions based on what we think is the best for student athletes and opportunities.”

Martin added that she expects more clarity on a national standard later in the day from Trump. She also said that the Board of Governors would make its decisions on any policy changes based on the specific details of the executive order.

In addition to Trump’s executive order, the NCAA may get even more clarity on an incoming federal standard if the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act passes through Congress. The bill, which would ban federal funding for any institution that allows trans athletes in girls’ and women’s sports, has already made it through the House of Representatives.

HOW TO WATCH SUPER BOWL LIX BETWEEN CHIEFS, EAGLES STREAMED ON TUBI

The NCAA has had a policy in place to allow trans athletes to compete against women dating back to 2010. The 2010 NCAA Policy on Transgender Student-Athlete Participation states that biologically male athletes are allowed to compete in the women’s category after undergoing at least one year of testosterone suppression treatment.

This policy has resulted in multiple lawsuits against the NCAA and its member schools. Former NCAA swimmer and current conservative activist Riley Gaines is currently leading a lawsuit over her experience of having to compete with and share a locker room with trans swimmer Lia Thomas at the 2022 national championships. She is joined by several other women athletes who have also been affected by trans inclusion.

Another lawsuit was filed Tuesday evening, when three of Thomas’ former UPenn teammates came forward with their own experiences of having to share a team and locker room with Thomas and were allegedly gaslit by their university administrators and fed pro-trans ideology.

NCAA President Charlie Baker addressed concerns over the issue of female athletes having to share teams and locker rooms with trans athletes during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in December. There, Baker insisted that female athletes have the option to find other accommodations if they’re uncomfortable sharing with transgenders.

“Everybody else should have an opportunity to use other facilities if they wish to do so,” Baker said.

Baker also says that the NCAA’s policies that allow trans athletes to compete against women are based on federal standards.

HOW TRANSGENDERISM IN SPORTS SHIFTED THE 2024 ELECTION AND IGNITED A NATIONAL COUNTERCULTURE

Baker has also attempted to downplay the scale of the issue. Baker addressed the issue again during an interview on ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show” days after the hearing. When McAfee asked Baker how the parents of daughters should feel about trans athletes in women’s sports and the NCAA’s record on it, Baker said, “There are 510,000 college athletes playing in the NCAA, there are less than 10 transgender athletes, so it’s a small community to begin with.”

However, despite that statistic, the issue has become a national debate over the last year, with several other instances of it happening at the youth and high school level, prompting national outrage.

A recent New York Times/Ipsos survey found the vast majority of Americans, including a majority of Democrats, don’t think transgender athletes should be permitted to compete in women’s sports. Of the 2,128 people polled, 79% said biological males who identify as women should not be allowed to participate in women’s sports.

Of the 1,025 people who identified as Democrats or leaning Democrat, 67% said transgender athletes should not be allowed to compete with women.

The issue is even believed to have affected the outcome of the 2024 election.

Shortly after November’s election, a national exit poll conducted by the Concerned Women for America legislative action committee found that 70% of moderate voters saw the issue of “Donald Trump’s opposition to transgender boys and men playing girls’ and women’s sports and of transgender boys and men using girls’ and women’s bathrooms” as important to them.

And 6% said it was the most important issue of all, while 44% said it was “very important.”

  • Egg prices aren’t coming down anytime soon: experts say

Egg prices aren’t coming down anytime soon: experts say

Elevated egg prices are expected to persist throughout 2025 as supply shortages continue, according to industry experts.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) predicted that egg prices, which can fluctuate significantly month to month, will rise by more than 20% in 2025.

The outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) – or bird flu – that began in 2022 and have persisted into 2025, are to blame. Experts tell FOX Business that cases of bird flu have significantly reduced the U.S. laying egg flock, which is pushing prices higher at the store.

BIRD FLU VACCINE: WHAT TO KNOW

To put this in perspective, prices were 36.8% higher in December 2024 than they were a year earlier, although they were still below peak prices in January 2023, according to the USDA.

“When detections are high, lower egg supplies will drive prices higher,” Bernt Nelson, an economist with the American Farm Bureau Foundation, told FOX Business, adding that “egg prices have been riding the waves of avian influenza since this outbreak began and this is likely to continue.”

Nelson estimated that more than 136 million birds have been affected by avian influenza since 2022. In December, there were over 18 million birds affected, which he said led to “bare grocery shelves in some places and widespread higher prices.”

Kevin Bergquist, Wells Fargo Agri-Food Institute sector manager, also raised concerns that the recent rash of even more bird flu cases in late 2024 and thus far in 2025 are still driving the flock numbers lower.

The issue is when bird flu is detected, the entire flock is depopulated to prevent the disease from spreading and to ensure no infected birds enter the food supply.

The USDA said the disease is highly contagious with one bird being capable of spreading it “from flock to flock within a matter of days.” Depopulating or euthanizing affected animals is “one of the most effective ways to stop disease spread and protect U.S. animal health as a whole,” the agency said.

US EGG PRODUCTION DROPS AS PRICES CONTINUE TO RISE ALONG WITH BIRD FLU CASES

Nelson and Bergquist said it takes several months to sterilize the layer facilities and repopulate the location with birds capable of laying eggs.

Egg cartoons at Key Food in the Upper East Side neighborhood of Manhattan on Jan 27, 2025. (Fox News / Angelica Stabile   / Fox News)

“Often, laying hen operations are concentrated with well over a million birds located on a single site. So, if HPAI hits a particular location, that whole flock is lost,” Bergquist said. The loss of many hens also puts pressure on the supply of new chicks, he added.

GET FOX BUSINESS ON THE GO BY CLICKING HERE

Even after a detection is resolved, there is a mandatory quarantine period of 21 days. Then, a chicken needs to be about 18 weeks old before it can begin to lay eggs, meaning it takes more time to bring a flock back into production, Nelson said.

Bergquist said it is likely that additional bird flu outbreaks will occur in the next few months, which “resets the number of laying hens lower, sometimes by millions of layers at a time. Fewer birds mean fewer eggs, sustaining the pricing pressure,” Bergquist added.

NASA astronaut stuck in space reports ‘strange noises’ coming from Starliner

A NASA astronaut at the International Space Station (ISS) on Saturday reported hearing a “strange noise” coming from the Boeing Starliner spacecraft just days before it is set to leave the station and return to Earth on autopilot.

The astronaut, Butch Wilmore, radioed Mission Control at Johnson Space Center in Houston to inquire about the noise.

On an audio recording of the exchange, Wilmore holds up a phone to the speakers so that Mission Control could hear the noise he was referring to. A pulsating sound emanating at steady intervals can be heard through Wilmore’s device.

“Butch, that one came through,” Mission Control says after not hearing it the first time. “It was kind of like a pulsating noise, almost like a sonar ping.”

“I’ll do it one more time and let you all scratch your heads and see if you can figure out what’s going on,” Wilmore tells Mission Control, playing the sound one more time.

Mission Control tells Wilmore the recording will be passed along and that they’ll let him know what they find.

Wilmore clarifies that the sound is emanating from the speaker inside the Starliner.

The bizarre sound was first reported by Ars Technica, which cited a recording first captured and shared by Michigan-based meteorologist Rob Dale.

NASA provides explanation for ‘strange noises’ coming from Starliner spacecraft

The mystery behind a “strange noise” that a NASA astronaut heard coming from the Boeing Starliner spacecraft while aboard the International Space Station has been solved, the space agency said Monday.

Astronaut Butch Wilmore first reported the pulsating sound coming from a speaker inside the spacecraft to Mission Control at Johnson Space Center in Houston on Saturday, just days before it was set to leave the station and return to Earth on autopilot.

NASA said in a statement on social media that the pulsing sound from the speaker has since stopped and determined the feedback was the result of an audio configuration between the space station and Starliner.

“The space station audio system is complex, allowing multiple spacecraft and modules to be interconnected, and it is common to experience noise and feedback,” NASA said. “The crew is asked to contact mission control when they hear sounds originating in the comm system. The speaker feedback Wilmore reported has no technical impact to the crew, Starliner, or station operations, including Starliner’s uncrewed undocking from the station no earlier than Friday, Sept. 6.”

A new security seal of approval is coming to your smart home gadgets

The White House has unveiled a groundbreaking initiative to enhance the security of internet-connected devices in American homes.

The U.S. Cyber Trust Mark, a new cybersecurity safety label, is set to appear on smart products sold in the United States later this year.

This program aims to help you make informed decisions about the safety of the smart devices you bring into your home.

I’M GIVING AWAY THE LATEST & GREATEST AIRPODS PRO 2

    U.S. Cyber Trust Mark (FCC)

What is the U.S. Cyber Trust Mark?

The U.S. Cyber Trust Mark is a label designed for consumer smart devices, including home security cameras, TVs, internet-connected appliances, fitness trackers, climate control systems and baby monitors. This mark signals that a device meets a set of security features approved by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

    How does it work?

Vendors can label their products with the Cyber Trust Mark logo if they meet NIST’s cybersecurity criteria. These criteria include:

    WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)?

    • Using unique and strong default passwords
    • Providing software updates
    • Implementing data protection measures
    • Incorporating incident detection capabilities

Consumers will be able to scan a QR code next to the Cyber Trust Mark label to access additional security information. This information includes:

    • Instructions for changing the default password
    • Steps for securely configuring the device
    • Details on automatic updates and how to access them
    • The product’s minimum support period
    • Notification if the manufacturer doesn’t offer updates for the device

ARE DATA BROKERS ENDANGERING YOUR RETIREMENT SECURITY?

    Why is this important?

There is a growing concern about cybercriminals remotely hacking into home security systems and malicious actors tapping into insecure home cameras. With the average U.S. household having 21 connected devices, according to a Deloitte study, the threat of cyberattacks is increasingly significant.

BEWARE OF THESE DOORBELL CAMERAS THAT COULD BE COMPROMISED BY CYBERCRIMINALS

    When will we see it?

The program is set to launch in 2025. Companies will soon be able to submit their products for testing to earn the label, and major retailers like Best Buy and Amazon have committed to highlighting labeled products. The program has garnered support from major electronics, appliance and consumer product makers, including Amazon, Google, Best Buy, LG Electronics U.S.A., Logitech and Samsung Electronics.

What’s not on the Cyber Trust Mark menu?

While the U.S. Cyber Trust Mark aims to cover a wide range of smart home gadgets, not everything in your tech arsenal will be sporting this new seal of approval. Here’s a rundown of what’s left out:

GET FOX BUSINESS ON THE GO BY CLICKING HERE

    • Medical devices overseen by the FDA: Your smart pacemaker won’t be getting the mark.
    • Cars and car equipment that are under the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s watchful eye: So, no Cyber Trust Mark on your fancy new electric vehicle.
    • Wired devices: This program is all about wireless wonders.
    • Industrial and enterprise gear: It’s focused on consumer products, not factory floors.
    • Any equipment on the FCC’s naughty list (aka Covered List) or made by companies on that list
    • IoT products from companies flagged for national security concerns
    • Gadgets made by companies banned from federal shopping sprees

And here’s a surprise: Your trusty personal computer, smartphone and router won’t be getting the Cyber Trust Mark either, at least not yet. The program is kicking off with wireless consumer IoT products, but who knows? It might grow to include more devices down the road. For now, NIST is cooking up some cybersecurity rules for those consumer-grade routers we all rely on.

So, while you might not see the Cyber Trust Mark on everything in your tech toolkit, it’s a solid start in making our connected homes a bit safer from digital ne’er-do-wells.
