Social Security saves big bucks by axing ‘X’ gender marker

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) announced Wednesday that the Social Security Administration’s move to terminate a contract dealing with the “Gender X” marker on public-facing applications will save over $1 million in taxpayer funds.

“The Social Security Administration has terminated its contract for the “Gender X initiative marker” and removed all references to gender ideology from public-facing applications,” DOGE wrote on X. “This saves > $1M and is in accordance with the President’s Executive Order…”

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on his first day in office aimed at shifting the language used by the federal government in documentation, including a move to replace the term “gender” with “sex” on official documents.

“The erasure of sex in language and policy has a corrosive impact not just on women but on the validity of the entire American system,” the order signed by Trump states. “Basing Federal policy on truth is critical to scientific inquiry, public safety, morale, and trust in government itself.”

‘SAVE GIRLS SPORTS’ SHIRTS BLASTED AS ‘TRANSPHOBIC’ BY SF CHRONICLE CULTURE CRITIC: ‘NEXT MAGA HAT?’

The move also reversed changes made during the Biden administration, including giving Americans who do not identify with either of the two biological sexes the option to mark documents such as passports with an “X” instead of “male” or “female.”

Late last month, the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services were told not to make a final decision on any application that would produce a document with an “X” marker for gender.

Social Security appears to be the next agency to make modifications when it comes to a person identifying sex on an application.

The Social Security Administration did not respond to FOX Business’ request for comment on the matter.

After learning of the savings, Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C. weighed in on X.

“$1,000,000 people,” she wrote. “Government waste at its finest- and this is just the tip of the iceberg.”

‘BIG CHANGE’: Nassau County police to begin assisting with immigration enforcement

Nassau County police officers will now be assisting federal authorities with immigration enforcement in what county executive Bruce Blakeman is calling a “big change” that “was sorely needed.”

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Blakeman, who is a Republican, explained that the Nassau County Police Department will embed 10 detectives within the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) to target illegal immigrant criminals in the county.

Additionally, the Nassau County Correctional Center will be setting aside dedicated space for illegal immigrant criminals, allowing ICE space to hold them pending their removal from the U.S.

As part of the arrangement, Nassau County will receive federal funding to help reimburse them for the extra personnel power and jail space made available to ICE.

“Now we can call ICE up [and] ICE will come in and detain them or deport them,” he said. “So, it’s a big change, and it’s one that was sorely needed.”

Blakeman said that the partnership was proposed by ICE as soon as President Donald Trump returned to the White House. He said that he believes the partnership will “absolutely” have a dramatic effect on improving the safety and well-being of citizens and residents in Nassau, which is one of the largest counties in the country.

ICE approached us, asked us if we would cooperate, and I said absolutely yes. I believe in their mission. I believe in cooperation with our federal law enforcement professionals, and I thought it would make us safer in Nassau County,” he said. “I thought it was the right thing to do, and the fact of the matter is, I’m just very grateful that President Trump is now allowing ICE to do their job, and I think that’s very, very important because it’s going to keep us all a lot safer.”

He explained that until now the state’s migrant sanctuary policies have made it difficult for police and ICE to enforce federal immigration law and get dangerous criminal migrants off the streets. Meanwhile, other leaders in the state, such as New York Attorney General Letitita James, a Democrat, have threatened law enforcement with legal action if they assist with ICE removal operations.

We’ve had a 5-year-old girl who was raped by an illegal migrant. I mean, how disgusting is that? We’ve had fentanyl come in from illegal migrants south of the border with amounts that could kill our whole population,” he said. “Well, now, those individuals who are involved in that type of activity will either be permanently detained or they will be deported …. So, it’ll be a safer community.”

I can’t speak for any of the state officials up in Albany. They’ve promulgated bizarre laws that give criminals more rights than victims. You just have to scratch your head and say to yourself, why are they always sticking up for criminals? When are they going to start sticking up for victims?” he asked. “All I can say is here in Nassau County, we’re going to follow the federal law.”

Blakeman clarified that Nassau County officers will not be conducting immigration enforcement raids with ICE, but rather working in tandem with the agency to facilitate the smooth transfer of illegals for deportation.

This is for targeted criminals who are here illegally in America. So basically, what would happen is, let’s say a police officer arrests somebody for committing a crime in Nassau County. They would then do a background check. They would check the records of ICE. It would be determined that they were here illegally and then we would notify ICE and ICE would come and pick them up.

Blakeman said that as far as he is concerned, the partnership with ICE and federal authorities will remain in place for “as long as it’s necessary.”

“After Joe Biden was elected president, Joe Biden’s directive was that ICE should not be enforcing the law, that basically individuals that were illegal migrants who committed crimes should be treated like citizens. And ICE was paralyzed,” he said. “Now, under President Trump, they are enforcing the laws that are already on the books, and we are going to assist them in enforcing the law because it will mean that we’ll have a safer county.”

  • Why Giants’ Jalin Hyatt will be rooting for Saquon Barkley in Super Bowl LIX: ‘He was like a big bro’

Why Giants’ Jalin Hyatt will be rooting for Saquon Barkley in Super Bowl LIX: ‘He was like a big bro’

New York Giants wide receiver Jalin Hatt was hungry coming off his Biletnikoff Award-winning season with the Tennessee Volunteers when he was selected in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

But college success doesn’t always translate smoothly to the pros. Great coaches, and even better teammates, can help ease that process for young players looking to make their mark on the league.

That’s why Hyatt will be putting divisional rivalries to the side when it comes to Saquon Barkley, the superstar Philadelphia Eagles running back who was Hyatt’s teammate in 2023.

SIGN UP FOR TUBI AND STREAM SUPER BOWL LIX FOR FREE

Wide receiver Jalin Hyatt at New York Giants minicamp at their practice complex in East Rutherford, N.J. (Imagn)

“I’m proud of Saquon,” Hyatt told Fox News Digital while discussing his partnership with World of Hyatt at Super Bowl LIX. “When I came in as a rookie when he was here [with the Giants], he was like a big bro for me.

“Helping me through the facility, helping me through plays on the field. Just really being a leader for me, and I have so much respect for him for that. Just to see what he’s doing over there with the Eagles, I’m really not surprised what he’s doing. He’s a special player. I’m definitely going to be rooting for him for sure for what he can do. I’m just proud of him.”

Now, Giants fans, don’t get on Hyatt too quickly after saying he will be rooting for Barkley. It doesn’t mean he wants to see the Eagles hoisting the trophy Sunday night.

He thinks their opponent, the Kansas City Chiefs, will win for a third straight year.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

“I love Sa, I love Saquon. That’s one of my friends, so I’ll be rooting for him personally,” Hyatt said, smiling. “But I do like the Chiefs. I like Pat Mahomes. I like Xavier Worthy. I like a lot of those guys over there. Not only that, they’ve been there. They’re comfortable being in that spotlight.”

Hyatt touched on the “two business decisions” made between Barkley and the Giants in the offseason, which sent the franchise’s fan base into a spiral. Barkley was clearly the team’s best player, but after spending so much on Daniel Jones with a four-year, $160 million contract, the Giants slapped the franchise tag on their star running back and never worked out an extension.

Barkley ended up getting what he wanted from the Eagles, while the Giants released Jones mid-season during a 3-14 campaign.

    Saquon Barkley waves

“I think that Sa, if he didn’t want to be here with the Giants, he’s obviously going to have his places he wanted to go and where he wanted to play,” Hyatt said. “Obviously, with the Giants, it’s a big business with them. ‘Do we want him? Do we want to continue to have Saquon on our team, or do we want to go somewhere else?’ I just think it was a business decision on both ends.

“Obviously, I wanted Saquon to stay just because he’s big bro for me, helping me as a rookie when I came in. So, I was sad when he left.”

Hyatt knows he and the team have to move on.

That’s what Barkley has tried to do, yet the trolling by NFL fans on the Giants has gotten significantly worse in recent weeks because of his performances. When Barkley spoke Monday night to quarterback Jameis Winston about possibly joining the Giants in free agency, it had people speculating he was taking a jab at his former squad.

But the Giants must sleep in the bed they made, and the only way to silence critics will be winning games.

Hyatt will be doing his part to have a bounce-back 2025 season after a down year in 2024 (he played just 33% of offensive snaps), which begins with offseason training in Dallas after the Super Bowl.

But first, Hyatt will be watching closely Sunday to see his friend and former teammate play.

MAKING MEMORIES WITH WORLD OF HYATT

With the last name fitting perfectly, Hyatt has partnered with World of Hyatt for three years, and they’ve collaborated on a fun experience.

World of Hyatt’s Find Experiences in New Orleans and New York City offer custom experiences where Hyatt members can bid points on the football star’s Guide to New Orleans, for example, which includes a two-night stay at the Hyatt Centric French Quarter New Orleans with a guest, food, walking tours and a custom welcome video from the football star himself.

Inside the DC plane crash investigation: Air traffic staff a ‘small piece’ of ‘very big puzzle,’ official says

Following a bombshell report over the alleged air traffic control staffing on the night of the tragic American Airlines and Black Hawk helicopter collision in D.C., the National Transportation Safety Board’s (NTSB) designated spokesperson for the incident warned that “a lot of questions remain” about the events leading up to the crash.

“Let me say this first: we [have] to remember 67 people lost their lives… Today will be yet another day of the teams going out there,” NTSB member Todd Inman told FOX Business’ Grady Trimble on Friday.

“They’re out in the field. They’re collecting data. They’ve started interviews. We have hundreds of people in this investigation,” he continued. “But the most important thing right now is to obtain and preserve any perishable evidence so that whenever we come off scene, we can start the analyzation of it.”

An internal preliminary report from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), obtained by the Associated Press, allegedly showed that the number of staff members working at the air control tower at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) in Arlington, Virginia, was “not normal for the time of day and volume of traffic.”

EXPERT PUTS ONUS ON F.A.A. FOR AMERICAN AIRLINES, HELICOPTER CRASH: ‘BAD MANAGEMENT’ IS ‘PUTTING US AT RISK’

On Wednesday night, an American Airlines plane and an Army helicopter collided near Reagan National Airport outside of Washington, D.C. All 67 people onboard both aircraft are presumed dead.

NTSB member Todd Inman told FOX Business “we don’t use the word normal per say,” when discussing air traffic control staff. (Getty Images)

“We don’t use the word normal per se,” Inman reacted. “What happens immediately after an accident is a safety review team begins doing just what we said, perishable evidence. And this is a lot of different people from the FAA. Union representatives all immediately start gaining information.

“So what people are talking about is a rough draft of something, but it is a small piece of a very big puzzle. Thousands of data points,” he added. “So ultimately [it led] to our recommendation of how to prevent this tragedy from occurring again.”

The FAA report also claimed that one air traffic controller was working two positions at the time of the crash, when typically, the two assignments are split between two air traffic controllers.

“Airports are living, breathing cities. So at any time because of weather, because of traffic, because of any other issue, you could see fluctuations in staff up and down. Now, is that an acceptable standard for safety? We will investigate that, and we’re going to find out. If there was anything that needs to be remediated, [we] will then make recommendations,” Inman responded.

Inman pointed out that the NTSB will be closely evaluating evidence like cockpit communications, unique sound recordings, aileron positions, landing gear, altitude pitch, submerged electronics, debris and even interviewing staff that were working with both aircraft.

President Donald Trump has also chimed in on the investigation, claiming via Truth Social that the Army helicopter may have been flying too high, “far above the 200 foot limit” in the DCA airspace.

“I would be very careful to anyone who’s listening to this to rely upon off-the-shelf software speculation they’re seeing online,” Inman noted. “Our job is to get the absolute facts as we get these [black] boxes in and get them analyzed, and we look at more granular data, [we’ll] be able to give a much better picture on that.

“In fact, I would just make sure you remember there can be a 50-foot difference in some cases and up to 100 yards for radar versus Ads-b, which is more GPS based. But it’s still not as accurate as what’s in the plane itself.”

The NTSB plans to “take [their] time” on the investigation, pledging to follow through all evidence “as long as it takes” to get to the root of what happened Wednesday night.

“We’ve done over 100,000 aviation accident investigations, made 15,000 recommendations,” Inman said. “Right now, we’ve not found anything. But if we do, we will immediately tell the public. Our job is to prevent this tragedy from happening again.”

Brandon Marshall says Giants should understand Saquon Barkley jabs are warranted: ‘This is the big leagues’

Toward the end of his 13-year career in the NFL, Brandon Marshall found himself in East Rutherford, New Jersey, playing for the New York Giants.

“I think it’s one of the dopest brands in all of sports. I love what they stand for,” Marshall, who played his 2017 season with the Giants, told Fox News Digital.

While the Giants are rooted in tradition and respect, winning has been hard to come by in recent seasons. Marshall knows about that, having gone 3-13 with the team one year after they reached the playoffs.

But the 2024 season not only had a 3-14 finish, it saw an ex-franchise cornerstone piece light it up with a rival elsewhere.

And Saquon Barkley, starring now for the Philadelphia Eagles, is heading to Super Bowl LIX.

Owner John Mara was seen on HBO’s “Hard Knocks” telling general manager Joe Schoen that he would have trouble sleeping if Barkley ended up with the Eagles. Schoen believed Eagles general Howie Roseman was out on Barkley, but boy, did he turn out to be wrong.

What transpired is arguably the greatest running back season of all time, and NFL fans have been ripping the Giants each week as Barkley seemed to outdo himself with every game that came up next on the schedule.

It’s a tough pill to swallow for the Giants and their fan base, but Marshall doesn’t want to hear any complaining from anyone on New York’s side.

“It’s what comes with it. This is the big leagues,” he said. “The Tisch [and Mara] family has been phenomenal to me. … I do think that they can embrace a little change and get with the times a little bit in some areas. But I’m a big fan of the Giants.

“With that being said, no, this is absolutely what comes with it. You had a generational talent in your building, and you knew it. It’s why you drafted him.”

Marshall flashed back to former general manager Dave Gettleman, who owned the No. 2 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, saying that you choose a player that high who has an opportunity to reach the Hall of Fame.

Barkley showcased that ability in six seasons with the Giants, especially in 2022, when his efforts to set the tone in the backfield helped break the team’s playoff drought. But just one season with the Eagles shows what Barkley can do behind one of the best offensive lines in the sport.

That was on full display this past Sunday as Barkley rushed for three touchdowns in the 55-23 rout of the Washington Commanders to head to his first Super Bowl. It led Dallas Cowboys great Dez Bryant to join the trolls on social media, which ultimately led to current Giants defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux getting into a heated argument with him.

GIANTS’ KAYVON THIBODEAUX, COWBOYS GREAT DEZ BRYANT GET INTO X BEEF AFTER SAQUON BARKLEY COMMENT

Thibodeaux might be defending his team, but it goes back to Marshall’s point: When you allow a generational talent to walk, expect the consequences.

“It’s unfortunate that they weren’t able to surround Saquon with the right offensive line, with the right coordinators, with the right receivers,” Marshall explained. “You insert [head coach] Brian Daboll, who I love to death, but it was way too late. Then, the whole market around the running back shifted. Now, you have Saquon Barkley and King [Derrick] Henry redefining how we should look at the running back position, how we should look at the run game. It’s extremely important.”

Barkley is on the cusp of history as he appears destined to break the NFL record for most rushing yards in a season, including the playoffs, which Hall of Famer Terrell Davis currently owns with 2,476 yards. Barkley has 2,447 after his 118 yards on Sunday.

If the Eagles win the Super Bowl, like Davis’ Denver Broncos did in 1998, Barkley would cap a historic season, something the Giants hoped he could produce with them.

Instead, they have to continue looking on from further north on I-95. And what’s worse? This is only the first year on Barkley’s three-year Eagles contract.

The only way for the Giants to change the narrative is to build the right roster to compete with Barkley and the Eagles. Until then, the shots taken by football fans will continue to fly.

  • Robinhood CEO predicts an investing revolution is on the horizon: ‘A big problem’ for US

Robinhood CEO predicts an investing revolution is on the horizon: ‘A big problem’ for US

Expanding on a recent op-ed regarding “the next frontier” in cryptocurrency investing, Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev is spotlighting “a big problem” that needs fixing in America’s trading market.

“I think there’s a big problem, which is that if you’re a retail investor right now, and you want to invest in [artificial intelligence] – it is very, very clear that they do, judging by the market activity yesterday and overnight on Sunday – you don’t have too many options,” Tenev said Tuesday in an exclusive interview on “The Claman Countdown.”

“The IPO process has gotten cumbersome. Only the biggest companies can do it, and that limits opportunities and upside, too, to retail investors,” he continued. “We now have an administration that’s crypto-friendly and retail-friendly, and we see an opportunity to fix this major problem.”

Robinhood has broken down crypto barriers by democratizing trading on its easy-to-use platform and free, no-commission trades. Now, Tenev wants to lead in the ability to use crypto and invest in companies before they go public.

In a Washington Post opinion piece also published Tuesday, Tenev wrote that this investing revolution is coming, but the U.S. isn’t ready for it.

“You have companies like SpaceX worth hundreds of billions [of dollars], companies like OpenAI and Anthropic that are off limits to investors,” the CEO pointed out to FOX Business’ Liz Claman. “And the right solution is to open up access to these, sort of, previously accredited assets. And I think we can do that in a way that makes sure that customers know what they’re putting their money into and self-certify that they understand the risks.”

When asked whether the rise of “meme” coins and tokens, like $TRUMP and $MELANIA, more recently, degrade the technical and fundamental value behind the currencies, Tenev responded by saying that it moves larger conversations and gives “the power” to anyone who wants to access a global market.

“The fact that it’s so easy and that someone with a computer can set it up and do it in a relatively short amount of time shows you that the technology is valuable. And we just need the regulatory clarity to connect this crypto technology to real world productive assets that are currently regulated as securities,” he explained.

After the groundbreaking Chinese AI app DeepSeek fueled a U.S. tech market sell-off earlier this week, Tenev claimed Sunday marked the second-biggest overnight trading session in the platform’s history.

Robinhood’s customers tend to “buy the dip,” the CEO noted, and A.I. also represents the “next frontier” in what investors want to get their hands on.

“I think that just shows you the power of what can happen if private markets are open,” Tenev said. “They’re private companies whose investors are limited to a very, very small circle of insiders that tend to invest in all of these deals. So I think that the next frontier and democratization of retail investing is going to be making sure that these opportunities are open to retail investors.”

  • Cowboys owner Jerry Jones: Hiring Brian Schottenheimer is ‘as big a risk as you can take’

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones: Hiring Brian Schottenheimer is ‘as big a risk as you can take’

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was sitting right next to Brian Schottenheimer, his new head coaching hire, on Monday when he said what a lot of fans and various team alumni were thinking when the news broke.

This hire is a big risk.

Schottenheimer was introduced as the Cowboys’ next head coach after Jones’ decision to not re-sign Mike McCarthy, who had Schottenheimer as his offensive coordinator this past season. The hire, as well as the process Jones and the organization went about making it, has been blasted by fans and experts alike.

Despite Schottenheimer being to his right, Jones responded to those critics on Monday.

“I get my proverbial a– kicked over needing people in my comfort zone,” Jones said to reporters, via The New York Post. “Without this thing being about me in any way, if you don’t think I can’t operate out of my comfort zone, you’re so wrong it’s unbelievable.

“This is as big a risk as you can take. As big a risk as you can take. No head coaching experience.”

Not much of a vote of confidence from that quote during what’s usually an optimistic outlook on a new coaching chapter for a franchise.

But the tone changed from Jones when discussing Schottenheimer, who has loads of coaching experience even if he hasn’t run his own program yet. He began his career as an assistant for the Rams in 1997, and he’s worked his way up through various organizations, including serving as offensive coordinator for the Rams, New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks and the University of Georgia. He’s also the son of famed NFL head coach Marty Schottenheimer.

Jones pointed to the younger Schottenheimer’s family tree, while discussing his qualifications.

“We know what osmosis is and we know what Schotty grew up around,” Jones explained, per NFL.com. “Frankly, from the standpoint of Schotty, those X hairs crossed. Schotty might never had been in our mirror, our view, had he not joined us to be with Mike as a consultant three years ago. … I’ve sat in handful of meetings with Schotty. I’ve listened. I’ve watched him. I’ve watched him have deference to his head coach. I’ve watched him have deference to experienced guys like [defensive coordinator Mike] Zimmer. … I’ve watched him bite his lip sometimes when he didn’t necessarily agree with that direction. But he bit his lip, as his daddy would have told him to bite your lip.

“You go around to the countless number of coaches that Schotty has served on staff with and been around. The countless players. How often do you have someone that has 25 years of working through the human relationship?” Jones added.

Schottenheimer is said to have a great relationship with Cowboys franchise quarterback Dak Prescott, which will be critical in making this work post-McCarthy. Prescott was one who said toward the end of the season, as he was rehabbing from a surgically-repaired hamstring, that he would champion McCarthy returning as head coach.

Schottenheimer owns the keys to “America’s Team” now, and he knows how big of a responsibility it is leading this Super Bowl-hungry team back to the playoffs.

But he now knows his owner believes what’s been put out there on social media: He’s a risky hire. It’s up to Schottenheimer to prove the risk was worth the reward.
