NFL fans intervene after restaurant owned by Eagles’ CJ Gardner-Johnson’s mom hit by unwarranted bad reviews

Del Johnson watched from Florida as confetti fell on her son, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, and his teammates after the Philadelphia Eagles routed the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.

The Eagles safety’s mother was in Cocoa Village, Florida, not New Orleans for the big game. She was there because she also had something to celebrate — the opening of her second restaurant. However, the celebratory mode was short-lived due to an influx of negative Yelp reviews for Johnson’s other establishment, Kings Grill in Rockledge, Florida.

The spike in poor reviews began shortly after Gardner-Johnson took aim at Chiefs star Travis Kelce.

“Should’ve stayed with that thick s— ,” Gardner-Johnson captioned an Instagram Stories post. The caption seemed to reference Kelce’s former romance with Kayla Nicole, who attended this past Sunday’s big game and celebrated the Eagles victory on the Caesars Superdome turf.

Fans of singer Taylor Swift, who are often referred to as “Swifties,” appeared to be responsible for at least the initial stream of bad Google reviews and negative Yelp reviews for the Kings Grill. Swift has made numerous appearances at Chiefs games over the past two seasons and is currently dating Kelce.

“I have friends who were sending me the screenshots,” Delatron Johnson told TMZ Sports. “They were going, ‘Oh my god, look at this!’ And the first thing everyone said was, ‘the Swifties have attacked.’

“Yes, we’ve seen all the reviews. The joke is really on the Swifties and everyone entertaining the reviews because Kings Grill is closed.”

The unfavorable reviews were later removed and Yelp placed an “unusual activity alert” on the restaurant’s page which “temporarily disabled the posting of content.”

“This business recently received increased public attention, which often means people come to this page to post their views on news. While we don’t take a stand one way or the other when it comes to this incident, we’ve temporarily disabled the posting of content to this page as we work to investigate whether the content you see here reflects actual consumer experiences rather than the recent events,” the post read.

A Yelp spokesperson added that “moderators” would eventually “clean up the page so that it reflects firsthand consumer experiences.”

“For Yelp to remain a useful resource to the community, reviews must be based on a genuine, firsthand experience with the business,” the spokesperson said in a statement. “Due to the increased activity we detected on the business page, Yelp’s User Operations team worked quickly to temporarily disable the posting of content to the page and placed an Unusual Activity Alert on Tuesday, February 11. When we see the activity dramatically decrease or stop, our moderators will clean up the page so that it reflects firsthand consumer experiences.”

Some Eagles fans took notice of the flood of negative reviews Johnson’s restaurant received and showed their support by leaving a considerable number of positive reviews for the establishment.

Supporters of other NFL teams also came to Johnson’s aid.

“Saints fan here, thank y’all for getting CJ a ring. Kinda sad that people are trying to attack this place because the Chiefs are sorry. I’m sure the food and service here are great though so gonna easy 5 star. Go birds I guess,” a New Orleans Saints fan wrote. Gardner-Johnson spent the first three years of his NFL career with the Saints.

A Las Vegas Raiders fan suggested the restaurant had top-notch service. “Service was on point thank you! Food was on point thank you! Ambiance was on point thank you! #RAAAIIIDERSSSS,” the Raiders fan wrote.

‘STOP MADNESS’: Tools to sanction bad actors ‘fueling’ illegal immigration is focus of Scott, Moreno bill

FIRST ON FOX: Republican Sens. Tim Scott and Bernie Moreno rolled out a measure to provide President Donald Trump with tools to sanction bad actors “fueling” illegal immigration, Fox News Digital has learned.

Scott, R-S.C., and Moreno, R-Ohio, rolled out the Stop Madness Act on Monday, which they said would give the president the power to place economic sanctions on foreign entities facilitating illegal immigration into the United States.

Specifically, the bill would ensure the president can impose sanctions on foreign governments that refuse to accept the return of their citizens who have unlawfully entered the U.S. — denying them access to the U.S. financial system.

The bill also would sanction individuals and entities that knowingly facilitate unlawful immigration, including human smuggling networks and financial institutions that enable their operations.

    Bernie Moreno

Bernie Moreno said the bill will give the president “all the authority he needs to apply maximum pressure against corrupt  individuals within foreign governments who refuse to allow the US to secure our borders.”  (Reuters)

It would also authorize Trump to invoke his authorities under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) to block assets and restrict transactions related to sanctioned individuals and entities.

The bill also would mandate a report from the president on actions taken pursuant to the bill, providing transparency to Congress for further legislative action.

“If a foreign entity shows resistance to repatriation or enables illegal immigration to the United States, they should be met with the full force of our economic and national security tools,” Scott told Fox News Digital on Monday. “The American people gave President Trump — and Congress — a mandate to crack down on illegal immigration, and this bill will ensure the president has important tools to hold accountable countries and criminal organizations who refuse to comply with our immigration laws.”

Scott added: “I’m proud to lead this important effort to help protect the safety of Americans.”

Moreno told Fox News Digital that the bill will give the president “all the authority he needs to apply maximum pressure against corrupt  individuals within foreign governments who refuse to allow the US to secure our borders.”

“Socialist dictators like Gustavo Petro are going to learn they have two options with President Trump when it comes to migrant reparations: the easy way and the hard way,” Moreno told Fox News Digital.

  • O’Leary rips Costco for bucking DEI trend: ‘Bad for business’

O’Leary rips Costco for bucking DEI trend: ‘Bad for business’

As more companies turn their backs and rescind DEI policies, Costco’s move to stand firm puzzled O’Leary Ventures Chairman Kevin O’Leary.

The “Shark Tank” investor declared Costco is “nuts” during Wednesday’s “The Big Money Show” for doubling down on DEI.

During his first week in office, President Donald Trump issued an executive order directing the termination of discriminatory practices in the federal government and encouraged termination in the private sector. Following the order, attorneys general from 19 states urged Costco to turn away from its DEI policies.

STATE AGS WARN RETAIL GIANT COSTCO FOR DOUBLING DOWN ON ‘DISCRIMINATORY’ DEI

While big companies like Target, McDonald’s and Walmart backed off from their DEI policies, Costco shareholders voted last week to reject an anti-DEI proposal brought by activist shareholder group National Center for Public Policy Research. The measure would have required the wholesale grocery chain to issue a report on the risks associated with their DEI policies.

O’Leary, who is also a Costco shareholder, weighed in on the wholesaler’s resistance.

“They’re nuts if they think I want them fighting the federal government on policy.”

“I don’t care who took that poll when there’s no way you’d get that result today,” he continued. “You don’t fight the attorney general in multiple states, you got to be out of your mind.”

He also believes that it is “bad for business” and urged the retail company to find a resolution.

“Chop chop, guys. Figure this out,” O’Leary instructed. “You’re breaking the law. Get compliant. I mean, hire for merit and advance people that deserve it.”

“You will find every race, color, gender, everybody will come to the fore,” he added.

The businessman also commented on hiring practices, arguing that diversity can be achieved through a merit-based approach.

“[If] you just hire on merit as we do, you get tremendous diversity.”

O’Leary expanded, arguing that it comes down to how capable a person is at doing their job.

“We don’t care if you’re gay or transvestite, or you have tattoos or fishhooks in your eyelids. We couldn’t give a damn. ‘Can you do the job, can you execute on the mandate?’ Those are the people we advance,” he stressed.

“If you can do it, I don’t care what planet you came from, you got a job, and that actually solves this whole problem.”

“We should have never got ourselves in this place,” O’Leary concluded.

  • Expert puts onus on FAA for American Airlines, helicopter crash: ‘Bad management’ is ‘putting us at risk’

Expert puts onus on FAA for American Airlines, helicopter crash: ‘Bad management’ is ‘putting us at risk’

As more than 60 people are feared dead following a tragic midair plane collision over Ronald Reagan National Airport, one aviation expert is sending a “wake-up call” to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

“It’s our system that is bad and that’s what has to be looked at. To be honest with you… we need to take a bulldozer to the front of the FAA. This is bad management, and it’s putting us at risk,” Boyd Group International President Mike Boyd said in reaction on “Mornings with Maria,” Thursday.

“This is a problem we have with air traffic control. Mr. Duffy has to do something about this,” he continued. “We messed around with air traffic control for 30 years. Now we have deaths in the Potomac because of it. So this is a wake-up call for the new administration, which means, fix the FAA and fix it soon before more people die.”

An American Airlines plane carrying 60 passengers and four crew members collided with an Army Black Hawk helicopter outside Reagan National Airport near Washington, D.C. on Wednesday evening. Three soldiers were onboard the helicopter and a massive search and recovery operation is now unfolding in the Potomac River.

AMERICAN AIRLINES C.E.O. SAYS COMPANY IS FOCUSED ON NEEDS OF PASSENGERS, FAMILIES AND CREW AFTER MIDAIR COLLISION

John Donnelly, chief of the District of Columbia Fire Department, said Thursday that “we don’t think there are any survivors from this accident,” adding that at least 27 bodies have been recovered.

The Army told Fox News Digital that the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter was “from Bravo Company, 12th Aviation Battalion, out of Davison Army Airfield, Fort Belvoir” and was conducting a “training flight.” They were a “fairly experienced” crew and reportedly had night vision googles aboard the helicopter.

As federal investigators prepare to review communications between the two aircraft, Boyd expanded on how the FAA holds the majority of responsibility for the crash.

“We had two flying machines run into each other over the Potomac. That is the FAA’s job to avoid those things,” he argued. “We have all kinds of human issues here. But the fact is, we’ve had near-miss after near-miss for the past 20 years. Now we’ve had a collision. The collision is the responsibility of the FAA and the air traffic control system. Somebody failed.”

“There was a major failure here, and that helicopter shouldn’t have been there. The airplane should have, but not the helicopter.”

Newly-appointed U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy stated in a Thursday morning press conference that both the American Airlines plane and Army helicopter were in a “standard flight pattern” when they collided in midair. Duffy also told reporters: “Do I think this was preventable? Absolutely.”

“Something was wrong with the system, and that means people died because of it. Which means Mr. Duffy has to turn around and say, ‘Something was really wrong here. We have to change it and change it right now,’” Boyd said.

“I fear he’s just going to warm that seat like his predecessors did. And I hope I’m real wrong. But he never even mentioned that at his hearings. He never said anything about the dangers in air traffic control or other things. So this is a wake-up call for the Trump administration.”
