With myriad posts floating on social media ahead of New Year’s Eve, the police have taken their creativity to another level to raise public awareness about road safety. One such post by Punjab Police caught the attention of industrialist Anand Mahindra.
Mahindra applauded police departments for coming up with creative ways to spread awareness while welcoming New Year 2025. Sharing the post, he wrote, “Police forces around the country are amongst the savviest & coolest users of social media. Happy New Year to you too.”
“New Year 2024 celebration. 31st December. Special law and order performance by: Punjab Police. This New Year’s Eve, if you are Drinking and Driving, Fighting on Streets, Breaking Law & Order, Punjab Police has special offers for you. Free Entry at City Police Station. Law Breakers will be given Special Treatment. If anyone tries to ruin your new year night you can invite us by dialing 112,” the post by Punjab Police read.

Delhi Police, on the other hand, have a hilarious warning to hooligans, asking them to behave on New Year’s Eve. In the post, Delhi Police said they are going to organise a “cell block party” for hooligans. “The opening performer of this party is a breathalyzer, and the DJ will play ‘Buckle Up’ and ‘DJ Safety First’ and the Defensive Driver’s Band, and more,” the post read.
