  • Egypt reportedly will release details on plan to rebuild Gaza with no mention of US cooperation

Egypt reportedly will release details on plan to rebuild Gaza with no mention of US cooperation

Egypt has apparently released the initial details of a proposal Cairo has put together to rebuild the Gaza Strip within three to five years, though there’s no mention of a plan to work with the Trump administration or Israel.

According to a reporter for i24 News, Egyptian sources told Qatari Al Araby TV the plan is a move to counter the proposal first put forward by President Donald Trump last week suggesting the U.S. would “take over” Gaza and forcibly displace all Palestinians living there.

The Egyptian proposal for reconstruction will reportedly be carried out in cooperation among Arab countries, the European Union and the United Nations.

Fox News Digital could not immediately reach the White House, U.N., Qatari or Egyptian officials to confirm details of the plan.

Sources within the European Union confirmed that while they were aware a plan would be released later this month at a summit with fellow Arab nations, they were not aware of the EU’s or the U.N.’s involvement in the reconstruction plans.

More details of the proposal will reportedly lay out a two-phase project that will first focus on rubble removal and residential building construction.

Details of the plan were reported less than 24 hours after the Egyptian foreign ministry released a statement saying it has “aspirations” to “cooperate” with President Donald Trump and the U.S., but that it also condemned Trump’s proposal to take over the Gaza Strip.

In addition, the ministry said the only way to achieve regional peace was to address the “root cause of conflict” by ending “Israel’s occupation” and implementing a two-state solution, a proposal that would look vastly different from what Trump has said he plans to do.

TRUMP MEETS WITH JORDAN’S KING AMID TENSE TALKS ABOUT RESETTLING PALESTINIANS

President Trump meets with Jordanian King Abdullah

While speaking alongside Jordan’s King Abdullah in the Oval Office Tuesday, Trump reaffirmed his plans to take over the Gaza Strip, telling reporters, “We’re going to take it. We’re going to hold it. We’re going to cherish it.”

Though both Jordan and Egypt have pushed back on Trump’s plan to “take over” Gaza, Richard Goldberg, senior advisor at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies and a former National Security Council official during the first Trump administration, pointed out that the president’s comments got them moving to take action.

Abdullah on Tuesday announced he will accept up to 2,000 children from Gaza who have cancer or require other medical treatment. Neither Jordan nor Egypt had previously agreed to accept Gazans after the war that ensured Gaza in the aftermath of the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas attacks.

“These governments are most certainly scrambling to respond to a president who outlined a pretty clear vision and a determination to make it happen,” Goldberg told Fox News Digital. “I’d expect their first round of responses to be wholly unserious, hoping they can put lipstick on a pig and make Trump go away.

“But this president doesn’t fall for those old tricks.”

Trump has claimed there is potential to turn the Gaza Strip into the “Riviera of the Middle East” and on Tuesday said it could be a “diamond.”

But King Abdullah would not directly answer reporters’ questions on his position regarding the U.S. takeover.

“I think the point is, how do we make this work in a way that is good for everybody?” Abdullah wondered. “Obviously, we have to look at the best interests of the United States, of the people in the region, especially to my people of Jordan.

“We will be in Saudi Arabia to discuss how we can work with the president and with the United States. So, I think let’s wait until the Egyptians can come and present it to the president and not get ahead of ourselves.”

Later Tuesday, Abdullah confirmed Jordan’s position on X. And while he thanked the president for a “warm welcome” and “constructive meeting,” he said, “I reiterated Jordan’s steadfast position against the displacement of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. This is the unified Arab position.

“Rebuilding Gaza without displacing the Palestinians and addressing the dire humanitarian situation should be the priority for all,” he added, echoing a statement released by Egypt’s foreign ministry. “Achieving just peace on the basis of the two-state solution is the way to ensure regional stability.”

The City of Chicago recently shared a video of its “gift room” after a watchdog group accused Mayor Brandon Johnson of improperly accepting valuable gifts.

On Wednesday, the city also announced new protocols for receiving gifts, along with a log and video of items currently inside its “gift room.”

The transparency attempt comes after the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) accused Johnson of accepting valuable gifts and failing to report them.

Alleged unreported gifts included jewelry, alcohol, AirPods, designer handbags and size 14 men’s shoes, prompting ethical concerns.

The new protocols, which went into effect on Tuesday, note that officials must report and properly log gifts within 10 days; store gifts in a designated area that can be viewed publicly via video recording quarterly; and donate excess gifts.

The first video log was sent out on Wednesday and featured artwork, clothing, hats and shoes.

The footage attempts to combat OIG claims that Johnson denied internal investigators access to the room where the items were stored during an unannounced inspection in November.

A written log contains 18 pages of items, along with their location and the organization that donated the gifts.

“These procedures reaffirm the Mayor’s commitment to ethical governance and transparency and ensure prompt disclosure of all gifts received on behalf of the City,” according to a statement from the mayor’s office.

Johnson previously accused the inspector general of a “mischaracterization,” while insisting he never personally benefited from any gifts.

The OIG report listed Hugo Boss cuff links, a personalized Montblanc pen, a 2023 U.S. National Soccer Team jersey, a Gucci tote bag, a Kate Spade red purse and Carrucci size 14 shoes from Feb. 2, 2022, through March 20, 2024.

While spotted in the video log, dated Feb. 11, the online log does not account for the tote bag, purse or shoes, as of Wednesday.

Other items like the cuff links and pen, while accounted for in the log, do not list the organization or person who donated the gift.

  • How to spot a hidden GPS tracker on your car

How to spot a hidden GPS tracker on your car

The latest stats say 80% of stalking victims are tracked using tech. One of the most popular ways to do it? GPS trackers, like an AirTag. They’re small enough to slip into a bag, pocket or your car undetected.

“Kim, this doesn’t impact me.” I wish that was true. Maybe you have an ex or friend who won’t buzz off, or maybe you met a stranger at a bar or store who was acting creepy. You’re at risk. Did you drive across the U.S. border? Yep, crooks are targeting tourists, too.

Win an iPhone 16 Pro with Apple Intelligence ($999 value).

No purchase necessary. Enter to win now!

The good news is your phone can alert you when an unknown tracker is with you. If all else fails, good old-fashioned sleuthing works, too. I’ll show you how.

THE BIGGEST WI-FI MISTAKE YOU DIDN’T KNOW YOU WERE MAKING

    The clock is ticking

An AirTag starts beeping only after 24 hours away from its owner. That gives the stalker plenty of time to reach you, especially if they’re local. If a carjacker tags your ride, they could learn your routine and follow you home before you even know what’s going on.

The rumor mill says Apple’s AirTags 2, coming later this year, will have antistalking tech. With the most current AirTags, tech-savvy stalkers can rip out the built-in speaker so you won’t get alert, but the new ones should make it harder.

For now, you need to do everything you can to stay safe.

Apple AirTags, don’t come with antistalking tech quite yet. Other GPS trackers come with similar issues. Read more to see what you can do to protect yourself. (Melina Mara/The Washington Post via Getty Images)

RELATED: AirTags aren’t just for creeps. I always toss one in my luggage.

On your iPhone, make sure a few settings are enabled:

    • Open Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services. From there, toggle on Location Services and Find My iPhone. Then, head to System Services and turn on Significant Locations.
    • Next, go to Settings > Bluetooth and toggle on Bluetooth.
    • Go to Settings > Notifications > Tracking Notifications and toggle on Allow Notifications.
    • Now, open your Find My app and tap Items at the bottom of the screen. Tap on Identify Found Item.

5-MINUTE CLEANUP FOR YOUR PHONE AND COMPUTER

On Android, the process is similar as long as your phone is running Android 6.0 or newer. If it’s not, you really need a new phone!

    • Open Settings > Location and toggle on Use location, Wi-Fi scanning or Bluetooth scanning. Turn on Bluetooth by going to Settings > Bluetooth and toggling on Bluetooth.
    • To make sure alerts are enabled, go to Settings > Safety & Emergency > Find Unknown Tracker Alerts. Toggle on Allow Alerts.

    The alerts aren’t foolproof

It’s not just ripping out the speakers. Older tracking devices might not set off an alert, and savvy creeps can reconfigure new trackers to follow you undetected for months.

    Hacker

Bad actors can easily use GPS trackers against you. Here’s how to check for these unwanted devices’ presence in your car and get rid of any you find. (iStock)

That’s why it’s important to check your car now and then, even if you don’t hear that telltale beep. First, grab a flashlight and a mirror.

    • Start outside your car. Check spots where the tracker could be magnetically attached, like the wheel wells; grill; underside; bumpers; around the exhaust pipe, roof or hood; and the engine and battery terminals.
    • Inside your car, check the seat crevices and pockets, dashboard, steering wheel, glove compartment, and trunk. Look under the spare tire and dashboard on the driver’s side, too, inside the onboard diagnostics port.

If you don’t find anything but still feel uneasy, try a bug detector. This well-rated option ($37) works for cars, homes, bags or whatever.

Small hidden cameras are popular with creeps now, too. Here’s my guide on spotting cameras in a rental, dressing room, private space at the gym or anywhere else you expect privacy.

I’M A TECH EXPERT: 10 AI PROMPTS YOU’LL USE ALL THE TIME

‘I found a tracker. What now?’

Don’t smash it or disable it. You want to give the police all the info they need to catch whoever planted it.

First, hold your iPhone or NFC device to the white side of the AirTag. Tap that notification that pops up to see info about its owner. Jot down the serial number and phone number so you can share them with the cops.

Resist the temptation to destroy unwanted trackers if you find them – police need them to get valuable information on your stalker. ( James D. Morgan/Getty Images)

Now, make an aluminum foil envelope. Wrap the tracker inside, making sure there are no gaps or holes. This will block any signals, so the person who installed it will just think it’s out of range. Take the foil-wrapped tracker to a police station. They’ll know how to pin down who put it there.

Are you being stalked or just paranoid? It’s a fine line. Read this if you can’t shake that “someone’s watching” feeling.

California families celebrate Trump administration’s probe into state’s refusal to follow trans athlete order

President Donald Trump’s Department of Education plans to investigate California’s public school athletic association, the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF), for not complying with his executive order to ban transgender athletes from girls sports.

The California Family Council (CFC) praised the decision.

“The California Family Council celebrates the U.S. Department of Education’s decision to launch a Title IX investigation into the CIF for its role in allowing males to compete in girls sports,” the statement said.

“For too long, CIF has turned a blind eye to the concerns of female athletes, parents and coaches, prioritizing radical gender ideology over fairness, safety and the integrity of women’s athletics. This investigation is a crucial step toward restoring justice in high school sports.”

CFC Outreach Director Sophia Lorey said the Trump administration’s intervention has made her cry “tears of joy.”

“As a four-year CIF varsity athlete and a three-year captain, I have been fighting for all girls to have the same athletic opportunities I had,” Lorey said. “CIF’s policies have undermined decades of hard-fought victories for female athletes, and it’s time for them to answer for the harm they’ve caused. CIF has ignored these injustices for too long, and we hope this investigation will finally force them to put the safety and fairness of girls over the feelings of confused boys.”

Lorey has advocated for girls affected by transgender athlete inclusion in California for three years.

Lorey intervened at Martin Luther King High School in Riverside, California, in the fall, when a national controversy erupted over a transgender athlete who took a varsity spot from a girls’ cross-country runner.

TEEN GIRLS OPEN UP ON TRANS ATHLETE SCANDAL THAT TURNED THEIR HIGH SCHOOL INTO A CULTURE WAR BATTLEGROUND

That girl, Taylor Starling, then took matters into her own hands when she and teammate Kaitlyn Slavin made T-shirts that said “Save GIrls Sports” and started wearing them to school. They then filed a lawsuit against the school district when administrators allegedly scolded them for wearing the shirts and compared them to swastikas.

Starling’s father, Ryan Starling, expressed his gratitude to the Trump administration for taking action to investigate the state’s defiance of the recent executive order.

“Our family can’t thank President Trump enough. We are so excited to see common sense prevailing. This has been a long-fought battle for so many people on so many fronts. The battle is not over in the state of California, but each day we are moving a step closer because of so many courageous people like Taylor and Kaitlyn,” Ryan Starling told Fox News Digital.

Even school administrators who work within the jurisdiction of the CIF are celebrating the DOE’s investigation.

Schaben/Los Angeles Times)

Chino Unified School Board President Sonja Shaw told Fox News Digital she is calling for consequences for all the institutions that have allowed transgender athletes to participate in girls sports.

“As a mother of two CIF athletes, school board president and advocate for children, I have seen firsthand the devastating impact of these policies. Girls are being pushed aside, their safety is compromised and their opportunities are being stolen,” Shaw said.

“This investigation is a critical step in the right direction, but we need real, decisive action. CIF — and any entity that violates Title IX — must face consequences, including the withdrawal of funding.

“We warned you, CIF. Now, face the consequences.”

Amber French, a women’s swimmer at California Baptist University, argued the CIF allowing transgender athletes to compete with girls will deprive biological female athletes of college opportunities and jeopardizes their safety.

“If you allow males to compete in female sports, less females will have the opportunity to go to CIF and swim in front of college coaches to get recruited,” French told Fox News Digital. “Allowing males who do not want to compete against their sex compete in female races takes away from all the hard-working female athletes. There are separate categories for a reason.

“This investigation is the first step to protect the integrity, safety and opportunities of female sports.”

The CIF told Fox News Digital it has been notified of the forthcoming investigation.

“While the CIF has been notified of the investigation, we do not comment on pending investigations,” a CIF spokesperson said.

Trump’s DOE will also be investigating Minnesota’s high school athletics association for refusing to comply with the executive order.

The DOE is also investigating San Jose State University, the University of Pennsylvania and the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association for separate incidents involving transgender athletes competing on a women’s or girls sports team.

Chiefs’ Travis Kelce dishes on NFL playing future after crushing Super Bowl loss

Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce isn’t making any decisions on his potential retirement – yet.

Kelce, 35, opened up about what his NFL future holds during a recent episode of “New Heights.”

“I know everybody wants to know whether I am playing next year and right now I am just kicking everything down the road. I am kicking every can I can down the road,” Kelce said.

The three-time Super Bowl champion completed his 12th NFL season, which ended with a 40-22 demolition by the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

“I am not making any crazy decisions, but right now the biggest thing is just being there for my teammates and being there for my coaches, understanding there’s a lot that goes into this thing. I’ve been fortunate over the past five, six years, I’ve played more football than anybody.”

“The fact that we keep going to these AFC Championships and Super Bowls, that means I’m playing an extra three games more than everybody else in the entire league. That’s a lot of wear and tear on your body.”

“It’s a lot of time in the building… That process can be grueling. It can weigh on you. It can make you better and it can drive you crazy. Right now, it was one of those things where it was driving me crazy this year. It happens as you tail off toward the back nine of your career.”

    Travis Kelce downcast

With the Chiefs’ incredible success over the last eight seasons, Kelce has played 25 playoff games, adding nearly a season and half worth of games to the 175 regular season games he has played in his career.

Kelce was still productive this season, but his yards (823) and touchdowns (3) in the regular season this year were the lowest he has had in a full season.

In the Super Bowl, Kelce had just four catches for 39 yards, all of which came with the Chiefs trailing by multiple touchdowns.

“As you see yourself or feel yourself not having this success that you once used to have, it’s a tough pill to swallow,” Kelce said.

“To not be there in the biggest moments, knowing your team is counting on you, those are all extremely hard things – it’s just a tough reality.”

The star tight end said he was going to take some time to figure it out.

“I think I owe it to my teammates that if I do come back, it’s going to be something that – it’s a wholehearted decision,” Kelce said.

“I’m not half-a–ing it. I’m fully here for them and I think I can play. It’s just whether or not I’m motivated or if it’s the best decision for me as a man, as a human, as a person to take on all that responsibility.”

If Kelce does decide to retire, he will likely be a first-ballot Hall of Famer and will go down as one of the best tight ends to ever play in NFL history.
