Warriors’ Jimmy Butler faces ‘crybaby’ slight from NBA great

Jimmy Butler saw his trade wish granted by the Miami Heat, but one Basketball Hall of Famer called him a “crybaby” for how it all went down.

Tim Hardaway Sr. commented on Butler’s eventual trade to the Golden State Warriors, a team the former became a star with in the 1990s, during a SiriusXM NBA Radio appearance.

“I didn’t agree with what he was doing — you’re under contract,” Hardaway said.

“[Butler’s] a baby. [He’s] a crybaby because they said no to you.”

Heat president Pat Riley initially said the team had no intentions of trading Butler back in December after reports came out that he preferred to be moved.

However, Butler’s response to that was ultimately something that led to “conduct detrimental to the team.”

What did Butler do? He reportedly walked out of a practice and missed a team flight for a road trip, leading to suspensions on both occasions.

Finally, the Heat gave in before the NBA trade deadline, sending Butler to the Warriors.

How Butler handled everything is something Hardaway couldn’t fathom in his playing days.

“We used to get said ‘no’ to us all the time, and we used to know how to take it,” he explained. “It is what it is. It’s a question. You get a yes or a no. You might not like the question, but you can’t deviate and mess up the team.”

Butler has requested trades in the past, especially during his sour ending in Minnesota with the Timberwolves. However, he isn’t the only NBA star to do so in recent seasons, as James Harden and Kawhi Leonard can attest.

And as Hardaway mentioned, stars in the past also requested trades, but had those denied. How Butler handled the situation, though, is different than what Hardaway has seen.

Since the trade, Butler has played four games with his new Warriors squad, averaging 21.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.3 assists in those contests. Golden State won three of those four games.

Former VP Harris signs with Hollywood agency that took Biden under its wing

Trump 2024 surrogate Harrison Fields says Vice President Kamala Harris’ donor money went ‘down the drain’ in the 2024 presidential election on ‘The Evening Edit.’

Former Vice President Kamala Harris has signed with a Hollywood talent agency, according to reports.

Variety first reported Harris’ alleged partnership with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) on Tuesday. The outlet wrote that CAA will “work closely with Harris on her post-White House initiatives, creating strategic opportunities that expand her platform in support of the issues she has championed throughout decades-long career in public service.”

Harris will join former President Joe Biden, whose CAA deal was announced just two weeks ago. Biden was also represented by the agency before entering the White House.

Announcing Biden’s re-affiliation with the agency on Feb. 3, CAA co-chairman Richard Lovett called him one of “America’s most respected and influential voices in national and global affairs.”

During his partnership with CAA, Biden released his memoir “Promise Me, Dad” in 2017, as well as traveled across the country on his post-vice presidency “American Promise” speaking tour.

In terms of Harris’s post-vice presidency, she has kept a relatively low profile since leaving office on Jan. 20. Over the weekend, she was spotted in New York City, where she attended Broadway shows.

The Democrat was recently mocked online for a “word salad” speech she delivered to the performers of “A Wonderful World: The Louis Armstrong Musical” during her trip to the Big Apple.

“Where there’s a vacancy, let’s fill it. Let us know that the reality is that the progress of our nation has been about the expansion of rights, not the restriction of rights,” Harris said. “We’re seeing a U-turn right now. For those rights to be maintained, which means we have to be vigilant. It’s just the nature of it.”

Trader Joe’s recalls frozen Organic Acai Bowls, orders customers to dispose of them

Trader Joe’s is asking its customers to throw away a certain frozen product over fears that it may contain plastic.

The beloved grocery store chain announced the recall on Feb. 14. In a statement on its website, Trader Joe’s advised customers to dispose of any Trader Joe’s Organic Acai Bowls, regardless of UPC code or best-by dates.

“Out of an abundance of caution, please discard any Trader Joe’s Organic Acai Bowls, as the product may contain foreign material (plastic), or return them to your neighborhood Trader Joe’s store for a full refund,” the company said.

The supermarket chain did not disclose any reported injuries or how many product units were impacted.

Trader Joe’s has recalled products over plastic contamination in the past. Last year, the chain’s Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings were recalled over fears that it contained hard plastic from a permanent marker pen, impacting 61,839 pounds of the frozen soup dumplings.

Trader Joe’s also recalled 653,000 of its mango tangerine scented candles last August. At the time, the grocery store said that when the candle flame was lit, it could “spread from the wick to the wax, causing a larger than expected flame, posing a fire hazard.”

“If you purchased the Mango Tangerine Scented Candle, please do not use it,” Trader Joe’s said in its recall announcement. “We urge you to discard the product or return it to any Trader Joe’s for a full refund.”

State takes on ‘woke’ language, introduces bill to ban terms such as “pregnant person” and “chestfeeding”

West Virginia lawmakers on Monday introduced a bill that bans “woke words” and agendas from state government content, citing concerns about the terms being “sexist” and “exclusionary.”

The changes, which center around “accurate, female-affirming alternatives,” would restrict wording used in state government documents, websites, literature and in-person, according to legislators.

Specific terms included in the bill include using “pregnant women” instead of “pregnant people,” using “woman” instead of “womxn or womyn,” and using “woman” instead of “birth-giver.”

The phrases were designed for gender inclusivity, as some people do not identify with their biological anatomy.

Other wording changes noted in the bill relate to breastfeeding and other pregnancy-related topics.

Legislators suggested using “breastfeeding” as opposed to “chestfeeding,” “breast fed” as opposed to “body fed” or “person fed,” and “breast milk” instead of “human milk.”

While supporters claim the gender-neutral terminology can “streamline” communication about various topics, critics allege the wording is “made up” and can lead to confusion.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in 2023 posted advice on its website for transgender and non-binary people wishing to “chestfeed” their children.

Portions of the guidance detailed instructions for those who had breasts removed in gender-reassignment surgery or for biological men taking hormones to grow breasts on how to feed their newborns.

Several doctors criticized the information, claiming the CDC failed to gauge the risks posed to children drinking milk produced by chemicals used in gender-reassignment medical operations.

House Bill 2406, which is sponsored by 11 delegates, would take effect on June 1.

On Feb. 7, CDC researchers were told to remove words frequently associated with gender ideology from research manuscripts that they intend to publish.

A screenshot of a leaked internal email sent out to CDC staff, obtained by the newsletter Inside Medicine, showed a list of terms and phrases that must be removed from scientific manuscripts produced by the agency’s researchers and intended for publication.

Those terms included: “gender,” “transgender,” “pregnant person,” “pregnant people,” “LGBT,” “transsexual,” “non-binary,” “nonbinary,” “assigned male at birth,” “assigned female at birth,” “biologically male” and “biologically female.” According to the Washington Post, the list includes about 20 terms. They indicated that the directive also ordered the removal of any use of “they/them.”

West Virginia University is the latest education institution to curb its diversity, equity and inclusion office due to reverse-discrimination claims.

The delegates did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.

Battle of the chambers: Trump budget test vote cleared in Senate as House GOP lags behind

The Senate pressed on with its effort to pass a key President Donald Trump agenda item before the Republicans in the House of Representatives get a chance to do it their way.

Republicans advanced a budget resolution in a 50-47 vote to tackle part of Trump’s goals on Tuesday night after moving it through the all-important budget committee last week.

“It’s time to act on the decisive mandate the American people gave to President Trump in November. Securing the border, rebuilding our defense, and unleashing American energy. That starts this week with passing Chairman [Sen. Lindsey Graham’s] budget. Let’s get it done,” Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., wrote in a post on X ahead of the vote.

The progress on the Senate GOP’s preferred two-pronged budget reconciliation approach adds fuel to the growing dispute between the upper and lower chambers on how to proceed. The House and Senate GOP’s have favored different ways to use the crucial reconciliation process to achieve Trump’s priorities quickly, and up until recent weeks, the lower chamber was expected to take the lead.

The reconciliation process lowers the threshold to advance a bill in the Senate from 60 votes to just 51. And with a 53-vote majority in the upper chamber, Republicans are poised to push policies through with only support from the GOP conference.

In the Senate Republicans’ plan, the first reconciliation bill would include Trump’s priorities for border security, fossil fuel energy and national defense. The second bill, drawn up later in the year, would focus on extending Trump’s tax policies from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA). The cuts begin to expire at the end of 2025.

House Republicans have long-favored one large reconciliation bill that includes all of Trump’s agenda items, from border security to tax cuts.

However, the lower chamber failed to move before its Senate counterpart.

“I’m afraid it’s a nonstarter over here. And, you know, I’ve expressed that to him. And there is no animus or daylight between us. We all are trying to get to the same achievable objectives. And there’s just, you know, different ideas on how to get there,” House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., previously said of the Senate’s bill.

Ahead of the Senate’s Tuesday test vote, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., called on Republicans to pass the House bill, “It’s time to act on ALL of the powerful mandates the American people gave to [Trump] in November: Securing the border, opening up American energy to lower costs, keeping tax rates low (including no tax on tips), strengthening our national defense, a two-year extension of the debt ceiling, and passing into law DOGE’s identified waste in government.”

“All of Trump’s priorities in one big, beautiful bill start moving when we pass [Budget Committee Chairman Jodey Arrington’s] budget. Let’s go Make America Great Again!” Scalise added.

TRUMP AGRICULTURE PICK CONFIRMED AS PRESIDENT RACKS UP CABINET WINS

In the upper chamber, facing pressure as the Senate Budget Committee chairman, Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., brought up the first bill of two in his committee last week as Trump officials stressed an urgent need for border funding to Congress. The House GOP recently moved its own large bill through committee.

Republicans in the lower chamber have held that taking on two bills as opposed to one would leave them vulnerable to failure when it comes to passing tax cuts later in the year. With a slim and sometimes unruly Republican majority, the House Republicans expect they would have better odds with a one-bill reconciliation approach.

Despite this, the Senate appears to be pressing forward on its two-pronged bid, setting up a potential “vote-a-rama” in the coming days.

The Senate budget vote triggered a 50-hour clock for debate on the reconciliation measure. A marathon of votes on an unlimited number of amendments is expected to follow at some point during the days-long debate. Senators can offer up as many amendments as they want to the resolution, forcing Republicans to take a large number of potentially uncomfortable votes.

As long as senators keep offering amendments, the Senate has to keep voting on them, one after another. Once the budget debate clock runs out, the Senate can vote on actually passing the reconciliation resolution.

KFC to move headquarters to to Texas

Former CKE Restaurants CEO Andy Puzder gives an industry look inside how fast food companies are trying to keep up with inflation and criticizes Biden’s tax policy.

KFC, the company once known as Kentucky Fried Chicken, is leaving the state for Texas.

The chain founded by Col. Harland Sanders is leaving its Louisville headquarters to set up shop in the Dallas suburb of Plano, Yum! Brands announced Tuesday.

Around 100 U.S. employees will be required to relocate over the next six months and another 90 who work remotely will be required to move over the next 18 months.

“These changes position us for sustainable growth and will help us better serve our customers, employees, franchisees and shareholders,” said Yum! Brands CEO David Gibbs. “Ultimately, bringing more of our people together on a consistent basis will maximize our unrivaled culture and talent as a competitive advantage. I’m confident this is another important step in growing our iconic restaurant brands globally.”

KFC will continue its brand presence in Louisville with the ambition of building a first-of-its-kind flagship restaurant, the company said.

Brazil’s prosecutor-general files charges against ex-President Bolsonaro over alleged coup plan

Brazil’s prosecutor-general on Tuesday filed charges against former President Jair Bolsonaro for attempting a coup to stay in office after his 2022 election defeat.

Prosecutor-General Paulo Gonet alleges that Bolsonaro and 33 others participated in plan to remain in power despite losing to current President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

Last November, Federal Police filed a 884-page report with Gonet detailing the scheme. They allege it involved systematically sowing distrust of the electoral system among the populace, drafting a decree to give the plot a veneer of legality, pressuring top military brass to go along with the plan, and inciting a riot in the capital.

The Supreme Court will analyze the charges and, if accepted, Bolsonaro will stand trial.

The far-right leader denies wrongdoing. “I have no concerns about the accusations, zero,” Bolsonaro told journalists earlier on Tuesday during a visit to the Senate in Brasilia.

“Have you seen the coup decree, by any chance? You haven’t. Neither have I,” he added.

A lawyer for Bolsonaro did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
