‘Hatred underpins them’: Nurses suspended after viral video threatening to kill Israeli man

Two Sydney nurses who threatened on camera to kill an Israeli man and other Jewish people in their care were identified and immediately suspended from practicing.

The Australian Department of Health and Aged Care announced in a statement on Thursday that the Nursing and Midwifery Council of New South Wales (NSW) suspended the registrations of registered nurses Ahmad Rashad Nadir and Sarah Abu Lebdeh, effective immediately.

Nadir and Lebdeh, who initially claimed they were doctors while donning scrubs, threatened Israeli influencer Max Veifer on an international video chat website called Chatrouletka.

After asking Veifer about his nationality, Lebdeh said “it’s Palentine’s country, not your country you piece of s—,” according to the video.

She proceeded to tell Veifer “when the time comes, I want you to remember my face, so you can understand that you will die the most disgusting death.”

Nadir chimed in and they both said they would not treat Veifer and would kill him if he came to their hospital.

“You have no idea how many Israelis came to this hospital and…,” Nadir said, while sliding his arm across his neck in a throat-slashing motion.

The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency automatically updated their record on the public register of practitioners, making the two Bankstown Hospital nurses unable to practice nursing anywhere in Australia, in any context.

“The idea that you would single out a particular group in our community and indicate you wouldn’t care for them, let alone actively threaten their lives, runs against every single principle in our health care system,” the health department wrote in the statement.

Officials said “their sickening comments – and the hatred that underpins them – have no place in our health system and no place anywhere in Australia.”

The department added Australians have a right to feel safe wherever they go and “nowhere should be safer” than a hospital.

“Health workers have a solemn duty to treat and heal everyone who comes before them needing help,” according to the statement. “The overwhelming majority hold to that oath.”

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese confirmed on Tuesday the pair were “rightly” referred to the NSW Police for criminal investigation.

“Individuals found to have committed criminal antisemitic acts will face the full force of our laws,” Albanese wrote in a post on X. “The footage is sickening and shameful.”

On Wednesday, Australia enacted a hate crimes bill imposing minimum mandatory penalties for certain hate-related crimes, including six years for terrorist offenses, three years for financing terrorism and one year for displaying hate symbols.

NSW Health Minister Ryan Park claimed there was “no evidence” the nurses harmed patients in their care, but the investigation is ongoing.

Lebdeh’s family members spoke to various news outlets claiming she was “baited” and that she was “sorry,” the New York Post reported.

Israel’s biggest newspaper, Israel Hayom, seemingly responded to the remarks with a story titled, “Sorry, not sorry,” and accused the two nurses of minimizing the incident, according to the report.

Haskel added there must be “zero tolerance” for racism and antisemitism and noted threats must be met with “the full force of the law.”

A synagogue was firebombed in Melbourne on Dec. 6, which authorities are now investigating as a likely terrorist attack. Other reports indicate cars have been set aflame and buildings have been vandalized in Sydney Jewish communities.

Trump’s Justice Department order to drop charges against NYC Mayor Eric Adams sparks mass resignations

Several senior Justice Department officials resigned in protest Thursday rather than comply with an order to drop a bribery case against New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

The acts of resistance came amid President Donald Trump’s effort to overhaul the agency, which he said has been weaponized against political opponents, Reuters reported.

The six resignations include Acting Manhattan U.S. Attorney Danielle Sassoon, Trump’s pick to temporarily lead the office prosecuting Adams, who resigned her post on Thursday, according to the memorandum by Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove, a Trump appointee.

“I remain baffled by the rushed and superficial process by which this decision was reached,” Sassoon wrote in a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Adams, a Democrat who said he was targeted by the Biden administration, has been willing to work with the Trump administration crackdown to curb illegal immigration. Adams pleaded not guilty to charges that he accepted bribes from Turkish officials.

“Rather than be rewarded, Adams’s advocacy should be called out for what it is: an improper offer of immigration enforcement assistance in exchange for a dismissal of his case,” Sassoon wrote to Bondi.

Adams’ lawyer Alex Spiro said in an email to Reuters that the charges against his client are a “sham.”

“If SDNY had any proof whatsoever that the mayor destroyed evidence, they would have brought those charges—as they continually threatened to do, but didn’t, over months and months,” Spiro wrote. “This newest false claim is just the parting shot of a misguided prosecution exposed as a sham.”

In his Thursday memo, Bove wrote that Sassoon had refused to comply with what he called his office’s finding that the case against Adams amounted to weaponization of the justice system.

“Your resignation is accepted…you lost sight of the oath that you took when you started at the DOJ,” he wrote.

“Your office has no authority to contest the weaponization finding,” wrote Bove, Trump’s former personal criminal defense lawyer. “The Justice Department will not tolerate the insubordination.”

After Sassoon refused to dismiss the case, the Trump administration directed John Keller, the acting head of the Justice Department’s public corruption unit, to do so, according to people familiar with the matter.

Keller also resigned on Thursday, two people familiar with the matter said, as well as Kevin Driscoll, a senior official in the department’s criminal division.

Three other deputies in the Justice Department’s public corruption unit – Rob Heberle, Jenn Clarke, and Marco Palmieri – also resigned on Thursday over the Adams case, a person familiar with the matter said.

A Justice Department official confirmed Keller’s and Driscoll’s resignations, and did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the other three.

Fox News Digital has reached out to the White House. Since taking office in January, Trump has fired more than a dozen federal prosecutors who pursued cases against him.

In a statement to Fox News, Bove said he concluded that the prosecution against Adams had to be dismissed in order to “prioritize national security and public safety over continuing with a case that has been tainted from the start by troubling tactics.”

“There is no room at the Justice Department for attorneys who refuse to execute on the priorities of the Executive Branch – priorities determined by the American people,” he said. “I look forward to working with new leadership at SDNY on the important priorities President Trump has laid out for us to make America safe again.”

Creep Much!

A few years ago, I was speaking to this guy, we had a lot in common, so we hit it off immediately. We went out on this date, and a few drinks later, he started getting touchy and wanted to kiss. I kept saying no. So, he kept ordering more food and alcohol, hoping I would agree to kiss and eventually sleep with him. We ended up being out for at least 4-5 hours, visiting different bars and trying to get away with him while he was hoping I would change my mind. Towards the end he realised that I am not interested in any form of physical intimacy, he flipped and began to gaslight me, further saying “my hookup lives next door,” to which I responded, “That’s great, You must absolutely go see her right now. If you want, I will drop you to hers on my way out.” We walked our separate ways and he was abusing and saying bad things about me because he couldn’t take the ‘no.’ It was almost 2 in the morning, and he didn’t even check if I got home safe, let alone drop me home. It was really a horrible experience.

All’s Well That Ends Well?

On a Valentine’s Day date, I had a terrible fight with my then-girlfriend. We were at the Juhu beach, walking and constantly arguing. She gifted me a watch that day. After our fight, I threw that watch on the beach. I guess it must still be somewhere there. But it ended well for both of us. She is my wife now, and we laugh about that night at times.

No Means No!

I went on a date with this guy who showed massive interest in me. We spoke for weeks before agreeing to meet. He asked me out on a date, and we met at a restaurant closer to his home. Everything went fine before he started to talk more. He began the conversation of physical intimacy and how he believes sex brings two people closer. I agreed to it. But little did I know that he would eventually force me to have sex with him that night. I denied it, and he kept pestering me about it. He even attempted to kiss me forcefully, and I pushed him away. He couldn’t take no for an answer, and soon, he flipped. He transitioned to this side of himself, which he was effortlessly hiding and began to curse. Labelled me a psycho and further said that “no man will ever be happy with me.” I refused to give that even a little attention and left the pervert’s sight immediately. I had never met someone so sick before him, let alone going out on a date, and I hope I never do again.

Date With Coupons?

This guy (let’s call him Mr M) that I met at an official event asked for my number. I was single and, without giving any thought, readily gave it to him. He seemed to have a good personality, was above average looking, and was well dressed, so I thought, let’s give it a shot. The chatting began almost right away. After a few days of talking, he asked if we could meet up somewhere for coffee. I agreed, and he came to pick me up after work in the evening. Once in the car, he insisted we go to this particular cafe. I wasn’t very keen on going. But he kept on insisting so much that eventually, I gave in. I even asked him if there was anything special about this cafe, but he didn’t give a clear answer. I thought it might be one of his favourites in town. We reached the cafe, we sat down, and the next thing he insisted on me was to order “one regular cappuccino and medium fries”. I was surprised as to why he was so particular about it, and mind you; he didn’t even let me look at the menu until then. The waiter came to take our order, and before I could say anything, he took out 4 to 5 what looked like coupons from his pocket and placed them on the table. He turned towards the waiter and told him that he had collected these coupons over his last few visits and had some offers on certain combo meals (hence the regular cappuccino and medium fries). If that wasn’t enough, he enquired about each of the coupons and the food items he could redeem in exchange for it. I was dumbfounded, and I cursed myself for being there beside him. I drank the coffee somehow and asked him to get the cheque. I lied about having a family emergency that I needed to tend to. He asked for the cheque, and thanks to all his coupons, the bill was just INR 200 or something, which he paid. And while we were departing the cafe, he told me you have my number, right? You can send your share of the bill to that number. I was shocked, but I knew I could not expect anything less from him by then. The way I ran after that “date” or whatever it was, and I never looked back. It was truly horrifying.

Catfished!

The person I went on a date with was unrecognisable. He kept a different guy’s photo, added too many filters, and the image was altered in a way that it was difficult to make a difference. But I figured that he was not the one that he posted on his display photo. I still went ahead with the date because I didn’t want to pass on a judgment that easily. While on the date, he started making small talk and then commented on how I dressed, saying that the outfit didn’t go well with my skin colour. “You should have toned it down a little,” is what he said. If this was not enough, when the bill came, he made an excuse that he forgot his wallet and doesn’t have access to digital payment. So, I took care of it, left and blocked his phone number immediately. I should have taken a U-turn, the moment I realised I got catfished.

Ouch!

She was an ex-colleague of mine. I took her out on a date at Pizza Express. After a while, without my knowledge, she invited her friends over on our ‘date.’ They were around 10-15 people. They ordered the food, ate and made me pay the entire bill. It was the start of my career, and going to a restaurant and paying the food bill for so many people did cut a big hole in my pocket. She should have at least given me a heads-up.

Good Ol’ ‘Orkut’ Date Gone Wrong

Back in college, when I was in my second year, I got a request on Orkut from a girl, and we started talking. After a few days, she asked me to take her out on a date. I booked a fancy place with whatever little money I had. The date went well, but after she left the restaurant, three to four guys came and began to abuse and threaten me. When I asked them who they were, one of them told me that he was her boyfriend and showed their pictures. I somehow managed to run away on my bike. When I messaged and told her about the incident, she accepted that he was indeed her boyfriend.

Classic Phone Call Prank

I got a phone call from an unknown number. He thought that I was a girl and kept calling me. So, I pulled a prank on him and pretended to be a girl. He was from a different city and, perhaps, got really attracted to my pretentious voice. He drove for a couple of hours to meet me, hoping I was the girl. I called him to a spot. When he reached there, a couple of my friends confronted him, saying we had pranked him on the call and ran away. It was indeed a bad date for him!

The pain and awkward misery of others can certainly be relatable for everyone. Doesn’t it? It’s never fun, but it’s also important to remember that it is through this process and by taking chances that you find the special one that is sheer magic. In all seriousness, all those things about Cupid and sweet nothings are nice, but February 14 is about a lot more than heart-shaped gifts, roses and romance. It’s about loving the one you are with. And if that person is you, it’s definitely worth celebrating.

Archaeologists excavating the site of a planned 32-story skyscraper in London uncovered the ruins of a nearly 2,000-year-old Roman basilica.

The ancient basilica, constructed between 78 and 84 A.D., once stood at the heart of the city, which was known at the time as Londinium, according to The Associated Press.

While exploring the basement of a building slated to be demolished for the upcoming office tower, the scientists unearthed the remains of what once served as the foundation of a two-story building, nearly as large as an Olympic swimming pool.

They uncovered flint, brick and ragstone walls and foundations 13 feet deep and more than three feet wide, AP reported.

The finding marks “one of the most significant discoveries” in years in the City of London, the square-mile financial district that is London’s oldest quarter, according to Sophie Jackson of Museum of London Archaeology.

In Roman London, the basilica was part of the forum, a place where people shopped, mingled and heard the latest from politicians, AP reported.

“This is the heart of Rome in London, where all the decisions were made,” said Andrew Henderson-Schwartz, head of public impact at Museum of London Archaeology.

The ruins are also believed to have formed part of the tribunal, an area of the forum where officials made decisions about the governance of the city.

“We’re talking about the early stages of London here, but it’s a real sign of investment in the city, even in its early infancy,” added Henderson-Schwartz.

Further excavation could answer questions about the original forum and why it was replaced with a larger one after only 20 years of use. It could also offer glimpses into the lives of Roman Londoners, according to AP.

The owner of the site, developer Hertshten Properties, has agreed to display the ruins in a visitor center of the planned office tower, AP reported. Property developers in Britain have to consult archaeologists in their planning process.

“We do have these little windows into Roman London that are all over the city,” Henderson-Schwartz said. “But this is really in some ways the site that connects them all together.”

Plane carrying Sec. of State Rubio turns around after experiencing mechanical issue

A plane carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio was diverted back to Joint Base Andrews on Thursday night due to a mechanical issue.

Rubio was on his way to Munich, Germany from Washington, D.C. on Thursday night when the plane experienced a mechanical issue, according to spokesperson Tammy Bruce.

Kadarius Toney’s girlfriend was 7 months pregnant when he allegedly choked her, 911 call shows

The 911 call that led to the arrest of two-time Super Bowl champion Kadarius Toney shows his girlfriend claiming she was strangled while seven months pregnant.

TMZ obtained the audio in which the unidentified woman said she and the former Kansas City Chiefs receiver got into an “altercation,” which allegedly led to Toney getting physical with her.

The Jan. 14 incident occurred in Douglasville, Georgia.

“He put his hands on me while holding my daughter, and I’m seven months pregnant,” the woman says in the audio.

The woman also said she placed the call from a neighbor’s house after having to “run” from her own home.

The woman also mentioned that she and Toney, a first-round pick by the New York Giants in 2021, lived together.

According to TMZ Sports, Toney is accused of putting his hand around the woman’s throat and squeezing “with enough force to cause her to be unable to breathe.”

He is also accused of taking the woman’s phone during the altercation so she couldn’t call for help. She is also said to have had marks on her neck and hemorrhaging in her eyes.

Jail records say Toney was charged with one count of aggravated assault-strangulation and another charge of obstructing/harassing 911 calls.

Fox News Digital reached out to a representative of Toney for comment but has not heard back.

Toney was the 20th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Florida after the Giants traded down from No. 11.

Despite showing small flashes of his shifty ability on the field in New York, he was traded to the Chiefs midway through his second NFL season, and it worked out in favor of his new squad.

Toney’s finest moment came during hte 2023 Super Bowl, when he had a record-breaking punt return and a fourth quarter touchdown to help the Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles.

But Toney was left off last year’s Super Bowl roster, though he received a ring for his efforts during the regular season with the team. He did not play in the team’s final seven games, including the playoffs.

Toney played just three games during the 2024 season with the Cleveland Browns, never making a catch.
