Delhi Police’s Happy New Year 2025 plan, ‘Opening performance by breathalyser…’
Happy New Year 2025: The Delhi Police has come up with by far the most innovative and quirky caution for New Year Eve celebrations. It includes a party plan wherein the opening performance would be by ‘breathalyser’.
Taking to microblogging site X (formerly Twitter), Delhi Police shared a post captioned, “Who needs a countdown when you can count down the days until your release.”
Titled ‘Cell Block Party 2025’, the infographic goes on to describe the performances of the party.
The opening performances will be br Breathlyser, DJ Buckle Up, and DJ safety first. This will be followed by performances by “Defensive Drivers” band and more.
“If you spot someone who needs to party just dial 112 and let the good times roll”, the Delhi Police said.
The Delhi Police have implemented extensive security measures across the national capital, deploying nearly 20,000 police and paramilitary personnel to ensure a safe celebration.
Key areas in Delhi such as Connaught Place, Hauz Khas, and India Gate will see heightened police presence to manage large crowds expected to gather for the festivities.
To combat drunk driving, around 50 Delhi Police teams equipped with alcometers will monitor key locations throughout the city, senior officials told news agency PTI.
Traffic restrictions will be enforced near Connaught Place starting at 8 PM on December 31, with vehicles requiring special stickers to enter the area. Ten designated spots within Connaught Place will be off-limits to vehicles to manage congestion and enhance pedestrian safety. Additionally, police personnel will be stationed at 14 points around India Gate to prevent overcrowding and ensure smooth crowd movement during the celebrations.
Authorities are urging citizens to use public transport due to limited parking availability in popular celebration hotspots. With comprehensive arrangements in place, including surveillance teams and medical personnel ready to assist, the Delhi Police are committed to making New Year’s Eve celebrations enjoyable and secure for everyone.

Ninda Ras More Dangerous Than Alcohol Resolve To Stay Away From Such Vices In The New Year 2025
Ninda Ras: While living in a family or society, we face various situations, one of which is ‘criticism.’ When we are unable to oppose someone directly, many people resort to criticism. You must have encountered such people in life.
Typically, when jealousy toward someone increases, people start criticising them to bring them down. At times, individuals criticise others to elevate their own status or hide their flaws. However, there is a difference between criticism and the poison of criticism. The poison of criticism is considered even more dangerous than alcohol. Let’s understand how.
The Poison Of Criticism
Criticising or criticising someone and then savoring that criticism is called the “poison of criticism.” It means taking pleasure in criticism. The poison of criticism reflects a sense of ego. The person criticising feels they are superior and begins to belittle others. Some people criticise to mock others, some to prove themselves better, and some simply to pass time. Later, they start enjoying it and get immersed in the poison of criticism. They develop the habit of speaking ill of others and become filled with negative energy. By the time they realise this bad habit, it’s often too late. Therefore, we should avoid seeing the faults in others and instead take the good from others’ virtues. Additionally, make a resolution for the New Year (2025) to stay away from the bad habit of criticism.
Criticising Is Like A Sin
- According to the Rigveda, those who criticise others, knowingly or unknowingly, are causing harm to themselves.
- Criticising is considered the greatest sin, and it always leads to negative consequences.
- Criticism reflects inferiority and weakness. Those who criticise are considered sinners in the eyes of God.
Criticising Is More Dangerous Than Alcohol
The poison of criticism is considered more dangerous than alcohol or wine. The effect of alcohol fades after a day, but harsh, insensitive, or sarcastic criticism can lead to depression. Therefore, its use can sometimes be destructive. Criticism reflects feelings of jealousy or envy towards a person. It can make the individual feel a lack of self-respect and may lead to depression. Hence, be constructive in your thoughts and do not use criticism to belittle or harm others.
Ninda Ras By Harishankar Parsai
Harishankar Parsai, the famous Indian writer, has said that criticism is harmful, especially when presented in a harsh, sarcastic, or unnecessary manner, making it difficult to accept. However, at times, it becomes necessary because criticism is a part of life that cannot be avoided. Although it is often used destructively, you can accept critiques, work on your weaknesses, and use them as an opportunity to improve and become better.

Happy New Year 2025: Here are the top 10 most popular New Year resolutions
As 2024 comes to an end and the New Year approaches, signalling a fresh start, people enthusiastically embrace the opportunity for a ‘new me’ by setting resolutions. It’s a new chapter to bring about positive change. A resolution is a commitment to achieve a goal for personal growth and improvement. It also sets the tone and mood for the year as one commits to certain goals in hopes of seeing fulfilling improvements by the end of the year.

It’s a story for another time why the resolution lists start to collect dust and soon you realise you are just recycling the same resolution list for the last two to three years. But it’s time to be positive and turn over a new leaf and new you as you actually commit to your resolutions this year. Here are some of the popular resolutions:
Fitness
Every year starts with registering for a new gym membership, hitting the gym, and burning calories every day (not missing even the leg day!). Losing weight and getting fitter is, no doubt, one of the top resolutions every New Year. It’s a dream goal to achieve the glow-up seen in before-and-after pictures. Fitness is holistic, so apart from exercise, it also involves eating right and healthier, and following a strict diet plan.

Travel
For all the travel bugs, embarking on trips—whether it’s to the local underrated gems of your city or ticking off items on your bucket list, is a passion for globetrotters. It’s all about a deep love of exploring new places and honing the sixth sense of travel-related discounts.
New hobby
So much of our leisure time has been dictated by smartphones and ‘doomscrolling’ that it’s no wonder finding a hobby has become the need of the hour. Channelling productivity into something creative is mentally stimulating, whether it’s learning a new language or musical instrument, or taking on sportier hobbies like outdoor sports.
Spend carefully
Frivolously spending on food delivery and e-commerce stores needs to be curbed. Mindful spending requires an active intervention by monitoring your expenses and being conscious of your purchasing habits. No more Black Friday sales driving you to the madness of retail therapy!
Quit smoking and drinking
It’s a known fact what unhealthy habits like smoking and drinking do to the body. It affects the entire physical and mental wellbeing. Quitting might seem challenging but by approaching it at one step at a time this New Year onwards, you can make a difference.

Start the year by fostering a reading habit. Gone are the days of ignoring your long TBR (to-be-read) pile. Set a reading target as per your capability and aim to finish it by the end of the year.

Learn cooking
Cooking is a life skill and can be a saviour. No longer do you have to depend on food delivery apps. Cooking for yourself and your friends and family is therapeutic. It is a basic survival skill. If you are already familiar with the ways of cooking, consider levelling up.

Spend more time with family
Personal entertainment like watching movies and series in different rooms despite living under the same roof as a family is honestly dystopian. And all talks of work-life balance aside, in reality, work may even eat up a significant portion of your family time. But with enough distractions and excuses, it’s time to spend time together as a family. If you don’t have time, then make time.
Sleep on time
Sleep needs to be prioritized. No longer should you be walking around in the middle of the night like a ghoul or binge-watching until dawn. Sleep is a fundamental pillar of overall health. It has a profound impact on mood and productivity as well.
Digital Detox
It’s easy to get wrapped up in the overwhelming gadgets around us. It is important to take occasional breaks from screens and reconnect. Keep track of your screen time and make sure it doesn’t exceed warning levels.
